Zwoopaman Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I would say Big Thunder Mountain at DLP. The one inside the tunnel.
JRice92 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 All the Arrow's for sure, the one that particularly came to mind for me was Firehawk at KI. If you're in the center seats on that ride the lift way to loud right in your ear!
Loco Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 So far Demon at CGA has the loudest of any I've been on. The tunnel after the station is to blame.
ajfelice Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Son of Beast sounded incredible, but it was almost painfully loud while riding.
pyrocoasterkid Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Son of Beast. Hands down. I believe it was the anti-rollback that made all the noise, but it was deafeningly loud and could be heard clear across the park. Â *edit: ^ Beat me by 2 minutes!*
ejot Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Goliath SFMM has one train that's very loud. The other is much quieter if I'm recalling correctly.
corn4ahead Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Ok, first of all Firehawk at KI is just stupid loud. It is closely followed up by Son of Beast w/original trains.
HHNZ Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Tsunami @ Isla San Marcos It is not a chain lift but the antirollback is loud. Â (Skip to minute 1:43)
MagnumFreak25 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Phantom's Revenge by far is the loudest I've seen. You can here way before your anywhere near the park, Plus it echos on the hills and stuff.
fraroc Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Alpengeist is definitely one of the loudest lifts out there.
Jodon Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I second Firehawk at Kings Island. It's ridiculously loud and because you are lying down, your ears are really close to the chain. Â Also, Outlaw Run and Goliath at SFGam have really loud lifts. I think RMC likes the loud lifts to enhance the experience.
CPSFMMCW Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Alpengeist. Good luck talking to the person next to you. And more than half the time yelling doesn't end up working out either!
beenagins87 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Thunderhead at DOLLYWOOD, especially the station fly through.
Angle O. Descent Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Any B&M standup or floorless has a pretty notable roar
fraroc Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Alpengeist. Good luck talking to the person next to you. And more than half the time yelling doesn't end up working out either! Â I KNOW...Great coaster, but that entire time is just constant BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG in your ear.
Superbatboy Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Superman Escape From Krypton is by far the loudest I've ever heard... Â Mantis and Riddler's Revenge are also very loud and can be heard from a pretty good distance
agerikson Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Great Bear at Hersheypark is extremely loud. It has the distinctive B&M roar but due to its location right over the walkway and the natural ampitheather-like geography of "The Hollow" section of the park, it is impossible to hold a conversation in the immediate area when Great Bear is being consistently dispatched.
GigaG Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Superman Escape From Krypton is by far the loudest I've ever heard... Mantis and Riddler's Revenge are also very loud and can be heard from a pretty good distance  Agreed. Although I don't remember Riddler's Revenge's loudness, S:EFK and Mantis are pretty much the loudest rides you will ever hear.  Large and fast woodies are interesting, too - not that loud in themselves, but their unusual noises, including the "bumpier" sound of a high-speed woodie train (listen to Mean Streak as it passes over its entrance) and the squeaking sound present on curves (and even straightaways sometimes, or maybe I'm just going crazy )  What causes a woodie's squealing sound anyways?
KevinM Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 As someone who worked in challenge park for a summer, I can tell you, Magnum XL-200 is freaking LOUD! Most guests don't really realize it because it's tucked away in the back of the park, but that lift is one of the loudest out there. It would feel eerily silent when that coaster went down during the day.
3Mutts Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Mantis, I don't know what makes this B&M so loud compared to the others (even ones NOT filled with sand) but you could literally hear it all the way in the back circle of the campground (by Mean Streak).
