simaticable Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Any news on Lightning Rod?I didn't know they sold the ride to SFOG, dismantled it, transported it 4 hours south, rebuilt it, and tested it enough to open in the last 24 hours. Seriously though, you replied to the wrong thread. You're looking for the Dollywood thread.

CPTCOASTER Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I just came to the park just to find it, didn't see it anywhere *trying to think what dotd means*

DAT_OG_ROLL Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Damn those look like they could be trains or something but idk why they would be here this early.... I seriously hope this is a coaster....

WickedCycloneFreak Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Honestly it looks like cars for Justice League
SixFlagsAstroworld Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 ^^That is possible. All the other cars in the Twitter post have the same shape
michaellynn4 Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I think they're JL:BfM cars. Makes the most sense.
kickflipbacktail Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Honestly just think its BFM trains. Pretty let down if this is our attraction for 2017 but it's whatever. Let it eat the crowds while I ride one of the best lopping coasters in operation.
Jccoasterfan Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 They do look like BFM cars. However, I did notice that on one part of the picture there appeared to be something under the tarp that looks a lot like stacked wood. It's really hard to tell, though. It could very well just be regular construction materials.
Superbatboy Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Why would they receive the trains this early? The ride isn't even built yet.
hydra Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I doubt they would put those high-tech ride vehicles under a tarp outside in the Georgia heat.
SixFlagsAstroworld Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 ^ and ^^ good point. Maybe it's tracks? Or supports?

They mention how the ride 'won't be a first of its kind' and that 'similar rides exist elsewhere in the amusement park land.' *Edit: That's just my guess though, but it seems to make a little bit more sense now.
cam.searcy1 Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 http://www.ajc.com/news/lifestyles/six-flags-gets-ready-for-new-ride-coming-in-2017/nrtGJ/ According to this AJC article, it's sounding more like an S&S Freespin. They mention how the ride 'won't be a first of its kind' and that 'similar rides exist elsewhere in the amusement park land.' does anyone know the approximate landmass of the free spins? Petriello says the ride occupies a couple of acres which is probably is our best bet at guessing what it is. I personally really hope this isn't a free fly
simaticable Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 It could also mean JL:BFM which is what my guess is. The park knows how popular Monster Mansion is, so why not put a shooting dark ride on the other side of the park next to Superman and retheme that area as Metropolis?

Since the article mentioned that the ride will only take a few acres of land, it could very well be either of the two. Hopefully we will see a few more teasers in the coming weeks.
mbarnett Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Anybody figure out what "DOTD" means? Discovery of the Day
PatrickFHam Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I see a S&S 4D FreeSpin train/car. (front/back) But then I look again and see the Sally car. (side) Ugh.
