ebl Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Diana is ticked off at me because she wanted a new phone and her text messaging returned. Sorry, kiddo, but with $300-500 bills each month because of 6000 messages, I have to say no. Maybe when you start paying the bills... Eric
exit english Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 People from my old job are now asking me questions about old projects... after I told them not to. I'm done with that job. I told them to either look on my old machine to see if it exists or do it over. Terry OMG this pisses me off so bad. I left a company because it was terrible, and I'm pretty sure on it's way to going out of business, and 2 months later, I get emails asking me if I can help the new people finish up the exchange archiving I had been working on. I gave them the same answer they give their clients when they ask for help. "Absolutely, my billable rate is $145 per hour, minimum 1 hour, and 15 minute increments thereafter." Never heard back from them. -Josh
steel Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 (continued from opposing thread) In taking the PSAT, I missed a test in German and a test in Algebra II. And I'm going to miss the written half of the German test tomorrow as I take the PLAN test. Too many tests in so little time.
JamesMC Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 So the person driving in front of me in the left lane is going 38 in a 45mph zone on my way to work. When I finally got to pass I could see that the reason her driving was impeded was because she had 3 tiny dogs sitting on her lap in the driver's seat with their little snouts out the window. Although this should have been a cute photo op, she needed to tie the mutts up if she couldn't drive with them. I wasn't the only one who passed her, but I had the graciousness not to flip her off like the other half dozen people who she had tied up in traffic. I truly hope she got a ticket of some sort. That's ridiculous, but yet somehow not funny.
slither37 Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I really think there needs to be an aptitude test before you are permitted to use the "self-scan" line at the grocery store.
Rocket Rodder Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Okaaaay. So I was at a store in the local area. And when it was time for me to pay for my groceries, I needed to ask for some information. The girl spoke no english, and was like "Hablame en español! D:" (Which means 'Speak to me n spanish!') It kind of ticks be because, as Robb said some time ago, if we visited another country, even moreso to LIVE there, we'd need to learn their language, right? Yes.. I myself am of Hispanic heritage, but sometimes I just don't feel like speaking Spanish, since English is my L1. On my way out I was like "This is AMERICA, people.. learn to speak English!!" If you want to talk to some customers in your native tongue it's all fine and dandy but don't try to force US to speak it.. I mean, for cryin' in the mud, people.. rant>
CoastersNSich Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 As for grocery store self-checkouts, I hear Wal-Mart is not putting them in in their newest stores. Too much trouble for their clientele? Seriously, two chains that have not just self-checkouts, but also large-order self checkouts, are Meijer and Giant Eagle... the stores with them definitely deserve my business. I used Greyhound to get between Cincinnati and Columbus this weekend, and their terminal signage is bilingual (English and Spanish) as well. Sears has been doing this for years, too. Are these companies desperate?! I might try Megabus next time for inter-city travel. Not to mention Greyhound's announcements almost sound like Charlie Brown's teacher. (wa-wa-wah-wah-wa-wa-wah)

Sorry, kiddo, but with $300-500 bills each month because of 6000 messages, I have to say no. Maybe when you start paying the bills... Eric Given that message, I feel like it should be something more along the lines of: "Diana is ticked off at me because she wanted her freedom back, along with some sanitary living conditions and food other than C-rations. Sorry, kiddo, but with $300-500 cell phone bills each month because of 6000 messages, I have to say no."

Honey you better find a way or get your manager out here. Learn the official language here." That usually gets someone running to get me checked out. Three weeks ago I had two people translating trying to get me out of the grocery store... and they even scanned a discount card for me so I saved money. TheRapidsNerd Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Ignorant and pointless comments like "This video sucks." on youtube. 1. It's easy to criticize from the sidelines, tex. 2. If you don't like my hard work, build a better ride yourself. It's tougher than you might think. If you succeed, the public wins in the end because the ride is preserved and improved over time. 3. Offer HELPFUL suggestions. I'm open to criticism, and different opinions, but tell me WHY this vid sucks and offer ways to improve it. I'll GLADLY listen. I really want to put out a high quality and accurate as possible reproduction given the tools at hand. 4. Building by-gone rides from a severe lack of info isn't easy. Sometimes you have an old map and 1 pic. That's it! If you have more info/vids/pics/whatever, SHARE THEM and improve the video/ride model. 5. There are people better and worse than me at building and I have much to learn about RCT3. 6. GOOD suggestions can equal better quality models. Thanks to one viewer telling me about the extended coaster in RCT3, I was able to better model Batman and Robin Chiller. This was a big help and taught me about a very useful tool in the game. Lastly, opinions are like backsides. Everybody has one, and they're all shaped differently! Nine times out of ten, the people quickest to criticize can't offer anything useful to fix the problem. This doesn't do anyone any good.
socalMAN123 Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Wow, Metallica sounds so bad right now in 2007. I'm sorry, but they don't sound NEARLY as good as they did in the 80's and 90's. *sigh* Somebody needs to make a time machine, and fast. ---Brent
WDWliker Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 This rant isn't really strong. The After Burner Climax arcade machine at the arcade I usually go to has a dodgy sensor that'll go off at random times. But I managed to survive. The machine even worked, albeit with the dodgy sensor going off randomly

Terry "Only speaks spanish if a cute guy is involved" Weaver Yup. With people like my grandmother, I'd of course speak spanish, since she's f GREAT authority.. You know, it's fun to go to stores sometimes.. Cashiers who speak both spanish and english, sometimes speak to me in spanish When counting out the money due) and sometimes in english.. When they speak to me in spanish I speak to them in english. When they speak to me in REALLY broken english (At least they TRY to make an effort, which I don't mind..) I respond in Spanish. The expressions on their faces, I love it!
terrancew_hod Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 ^Yeah, you don't have to be fluent, but at least you need to be trying to learn the language. Anyway, today's rant: My powerbook is on life support. The graphics card is dying. I did a diagnostic and I'm getting all kinds of frame buffer errors. And there's all kinds of artifacts on the screen that makes it distracting to look at. Time to replace it. Yeah I wanted to get another computer, but at least I wanted the one I work on to be functional until then! At least I was able to back up my drive and I can plug it into my older powermac (which is another good thing I like about macs--they're not as hardware-dependent.) Right now I'm back to working on my Dell desktop replacement (yuck) until I get things together. Well here's to saving up for a 17 inch macbook pro... oh and a mac pro for good measure! Terry
DaylightDies Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 The nerve.......who knows what kind of shady deal my uncle is involved in, but he has two Xbox360 holiday bundles asking me if i know anyone who wants to buy one. I know he's trying to make some money, but to ask me that when he knows i've always wanted one and he has them in some box on the floor like a piece of rubbish he's using to turn a profit is sick. Doesn't deserve to hold the power of the Xenos.
Sunfire Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 School can be so annoying. At least in certain classes, mainly chemistry. First of all, chemistry is the hardest class I've ever taken. The second month of school has just barely ended and my brain's been hurting all the time because of all the math involved. Second, it doesn't help much that my teacher has his head up his butt. Every time I ask him for help, it's almost always the same response. Something along the lines of, "Why weren't you paying attention to the notes? It's all right there!" He always says that in the same pissed off tone acting like I'm "not mature enough to be in the class." I mean, what's his problem? Can't he just help me with the problem instead of just making it harder for me? Then the class would be a lot less annoying and stressful.
no_brain_er Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 ^AMEN! Oh man, most of the teachers that I have right now can't teach, and my grades don't usually do that. I'm a slow learner, and they go too fast or they're just not good at what they do in the first place. For instance, my Algebra 2 teacher (most likely the worst teacher in our entire school) has a 78% fail rate and she's still teaching! That's not right! And she knows I'm not doing well, but does she help? Nope! This is actually what she told me when I asked her what I could do to improve my grade: "Do better on the work and tests." That made want to kick something so incredibly hard that it would either die or lose some mental stability. She does NOT need to be teaching! ...And I am through...
christianscoasters Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 I'm really mad cause it's Halloween night, and I am bored like I've never been bored before. None of my friends cared to invite me to whatever they're going to, and they're all like, "Oh, I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have forgot you!"
socalMAN123 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I'm sick. Sure, it's not one of those horrible, "I'm walking down the hallway and just barfed four times" illnesses, but it still sucks. Bleh, and I have to go to school tomorrow. ---Brent
CoasterCrazy88 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 ^ Sorry to hear that! At least tomorrow is Friday! Were you sick last night?
onewheeled999 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I absolutely HATE this person in my Science class and Language Arts class. He is the most annoying person on Earth. He just is always talking, saying stupid stuff like "Eric" over and over again. And of all the people that I DON'T hate in my LA class, the 'randomized seats' sat me next to him. I hate him.
brandon Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Today had to be the crapiest Friday ever, a girl that I knew in my technical theatre class died from a seizure, When are teacher told us he was crying, it was really sad. I am sick and sneeze like every five minutes and my nose is so stuffy. My bus has been late by like 15 minutes almost every day. Finally this stupid day has just gone by too dang slow!
Sunfire Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 ^Aw man, my deepest sympathies for you. It's always sad to lose someone, even if they weren't your best friend ever. Today, I feel a little bit better with chemistry. I got a B on my unit test! Though I'm still annoyed with my teacher's methods, I know I can make it through. As long as I try my best, that's all that matters to me.
socalMAN123 Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 My stupid knees are acting up again. I'm supposed to race tomorrow, but I don't know if I'm going to. Junior Olympics is a week from tomorrow and I don't know if I'm going to race then either. *sigh* I'm a 13 year old with 80 year old knees. ---Brent
