gisco
Going to have to defend an attack on me doing my job too well tomorrow... Missing my way more laid back and less numbers obsessed coworkers in LA. Someone upset because you are doing your job and making them look bad? christianscoasters
So many of my peers get involved in those pyramid scheme things that target college kids and they think that somehow they're going somewhere in life with it. Then they're always like "You should join! It's the best! Do it!!!" Um. No. It's called a JOB. Get one.
SuperShawn
Someone upset because you are doing your job and making them look bad? It's not that she is looking bad, but that her priorities as the manager are that of a sales associate which is causing friction between us. Dreading dealing with her "wanting to talk" tomorrow
J man
I found out today that I really hate shopping for cars. I literally ran out of a dealership today cause the salesman was forcing me into buying a car I could not afford. When I wouldn't sign the papers he brought over one of his buddies to bring on even more pressure. When they both got up to go run some numbers I ran out the door. It was stressing me out hardcore! There has to be an easier way to buy a car. Sheesh!
SharkTums
^It's terrible. We've had salesman lie to our faces, forget the lie, then tell a different lie when they come back! For the last few cars we basically do it all online with a dealerships 'online' sales person and when we get close to what we want we write that we will come in for THIS amount and THIS amount only and if anything changes we walk. We've had really good luck with this and it makes it a much better process.

There has to be an easier way to buy a car. Sheesh! I love buying cars. The internet has made it so much easier to get a deal. Do your research before hand and be prepared to walk out. I lot of dealerships have a person that does only internet sales. I have traveled a few hours away when the local dealer wouldn't deal. Dealing with more than one person when negotiating price is a sales ploy. I don't stand for it and it means I'm dealing with the wrong guy. I offer a set price over their cost and that is it. I always negotiate price first and I never trade in a vehicle. A lot of times they will ask you what you can afford to pay each month and that is a mistake if you play that game. Meteornotes
Yeah, the internet makes it so much easier. And stay away from Carmax, who wanted us to put in writing that we were going to buy a car that day before they'd let us test drive anything. Yeah... dt
jray21
I agree with everything posted above. I worked at a car dealership for a few months and had to get out because of how terrible those people are. I totally agree that you should only go through the internet or phone to get a car, and agree on the price before you arrive. Sometimes the internet/phone salesperson can get a better deal than anyone else. I worked for a Honda dealership and no one was allowed to discount the price on the Odyssey except for the internet guy. . Using the monthly payments route is the biggest scam in their book. If you start haggling over monthly payment, you have already lost. Also, a lot of people visit car dealerships at night, right after they close so they can at least see a car without the vultures circling them. Do your research, and good luck! J man
Thanks for all the tips! The dealer had me playing the monthly payments game. I know that had I signed the paper and taken his offer I'd probably be paying off that stupid car for the next 15 years. Not really something that I wanna sign up for. I do have a car that I spotted online in my price range and looks legit. Gonna go check it out this weekend and I'm gonna bring my Dad for reinforcements. Hopefully this one will work out, but if anything weird goes down I'll be ready to run back out the door again.
SoCalCoasters
All this stuff regarding MyMagic+ and Fastpass+ Either everyone is endlessly praising it or vehemently condemning it. There's no middle ground and I have yet to encounter an article written about it that seems to address both the pros and the cons of the system fairly. There's no middle ground and I have yet to encounter an article written about it that seems to address both the pros and the cons of the system fairly. I think the system needs to be out for a while before we will get any good pros and cons. Right now most of the negative stuff I'm hearing is from people who have no clue of how it works and they are making assumptions.
SoCalCoasters
^Yes, it does need to be out for a while before people make such grandiose assumptions about it, positive or negative. I'm just sick of the back and forth between both sides. There's heavy bias on both fronts, and separating pros and cons is extremely difficult as a result. It's hard to talk to either side about the issue from a neutral perspective, because any time you try to establish middle ground, it devolves into fighting and arguing over trivial stuff. RideTheEdge
One of my classes at school required us to do a presentation on a travel product (I did TPRs Mid-West tour), and someone did Canada's Wonderland. They talked about how Leviathan was "the tallest and fastest" coaster in the world...Like really? If you're going to do a presentation on a product, at least get the facts right. >.>

Blind Idiot God
The next college kid who tries to rip me off under the assumption that pizza delivery personnel are too stupid to notice that they're getting screwed is going to get several jugs of Clorox poured straight into the gas tank of the brand new Lexus that their worthless parents bought them. If my generation is the future, then we really are boned beyond belief.
Tanks4me05
Another piece of crap just puked in my bathroom and apparently on the stairs as well yesterday. Finally got cleaned about an hour before. My dorm door got egged three weeks ago, and it still smells a little. This sucks.
PalmTree55
The sheer amount of stupid things and advice people give about Theme Parks and Rollercoasters when they have no Idea what they are talking about drives me insane!! SuperShawn
New rule from Manager, if we are even 1 minute late for clocking in we have to write ourselves up. This is one of a few policies she is about to change. She is the ultimate person in not understanding shit happens.... Might not be working in DC as long as I intended...
