CPSFMMCW Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I'm very pleased with this addition. I also was hoping that the water park would be renamed, but those capsule floor drop slides are crazy! Glad to be getting them! Some mat racers also would've been nice too. Well this kills the rumors of shoot the curl leaving, right? Part of me wonders if they'll be announcing any more small stuff over the winter about next year. Hopefully they'll announce some cool fun, small things.
loop-de-loop Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I'm seeing a lot of people post in the Carowinds thread that they can't marathon I-305 a long time because it's too intense. Is this common for most people?
CPSFMMCW Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 The ride Ops won't let you reride i305 more than twice without getting out of your seat. If you want to continue riding after that then you have to walk around. I assume that's because of its intensity. ERT is better and very doable.
coasterchitchat Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I'll ride it next year, but how often do you gray out? It seems a bit TOO intense.
cfc Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) I'll ride it next year, but how often do you gray out? It seems a bit TOO intense. Â I gray out during the first big turn after the initial drop, but that's the only spot. It's a great ride, but very intense. Edited August 22, 2014 by cfc

coasterchitchat Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) Is i305 more intense than Maverick? Edited August 22, 2014 by coasterchitchat
Password121 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 But i305 is worser in intensity than Maverick? Umm... many people consider I-305 to be one of the most intense coasters in the world. Comparing the two is all your opinion. But... please learn some grammar. Please.
cfc Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I would agree that I305 is more intense than Maverick (although I prefer the latter ride--slightly).
Brashnir Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I would agree that I305 is more intense than Maverick (although I prefer the latter ride--slightly). Â It's a different kind of intensity. I305's first corner certainly trumps Maverick (and almost anything i've ridden) with regard to the intensity of sustained positive G forces. Â Maverick, on the other hand, beats me up a whole heck of a lot more and has the more severe transitional forces which are no doubt amplified by getting slammed into the restraints. Even still, the first months of I305's operation with the Maverick-style restraints gave me much less of a pounding than Maverick does.
Homeboy23 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I've never even had an I305 op let me re-ride with an empty station. Â They just started to allow one re-ride this year, well atleast they did early in the year.

I've gotten it once or twice, but even when it did happen, they wouldn't let me ride more than twice in a row without getting up and going back around. Â And Maverick needs the i305 restraints! I don't get why they haven't installed them! Its probably just cuz of CF's relationship with intamin. But even so, that ride with those restraints is not a good combo.
jynx242 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I305 is amazing, but I can't re-ride it too many times without a break. It is just very intense and that amazing first turn really takes it out of me.
bonsaiisuperstar Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Yeah, i305 is way more intense than Maverick. Not even in the same league. I've not ridden them all, but i305 makes all other coasters boring to me.

I've been able to get 4 rides in a row with out going around, one in the front row, 5th row, 10th row, and last row without going around. I had the opportunity for a 5th ride but decided to go meet up with some friends.

TheDark8 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Anaconda is still down today. Any idea what's going on? I haven't managed to get a ride on it in my 3 trips there and would like to get one in tommorow before I head to Dorney.

A month ago I rode I305 7 straight times in back seat left before someone got in line for that row and I actually had to move. Also, the restraints at 305 felt like I'd been thru-hiking for a week after 20 rides.
agerikson Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 A question for anyone who might know, are Kings Dominion season passholders going to be getting the same pass renewal offer that other Cedar Fair park passholder seem to be getting? Has anyone received anything yet? I'd like to renew my Platinum pass and free stuff is always welcome.
_koppen Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Awesome to see KD invest in the water park, but I do think they could have used a mat racer slide as well.

If you notice the price difference, Kings Dominion tickets are even a little cheaper than Kings Island.

whatabeast Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 There were rumors that Cedar Fair's old arrows and togos were on the chopping block... Anaconda isn't, is it? I mean, I'd much rather see accidentally-punched-myself-in-the-face-Shockwave go...
Propeller Factory Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Yeah quite frankly that lake really doesn't look good with an odd roller coaster on it...... And i305 would look better without it............
