jason10 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 This year without a doubt was a great season and one which will be hard to top, but, with new rides and thrills to look foward to such as Saw: The Ride and the Mack Launched coaster at Europa-Park, it is looking that that the 2009 season will be quite spectacular. I for one am really wetting myself (not really) over Saw: The Ride as: 1. It's at my home park. 2. It is a credit. 3. It's based on a horror movie! 4. It will be my first eurofighter and beyond vertical drop! Share your thoughts about 2009!
mertz19 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 I cant wait to pay a visit to carowinds and ride the carolina cobra. I hope the new trains improve what seems like a great idea for a coaster.
Vid_w Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 iSpeed! 1. It's at a park close to me. 2. It's going to be my first Intamin 3. It's going to be my first launched coaster 4. My first coaster with serious airtime 5. The layout looks absolutely stunning from the animation
PKI Jizzman Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Diamondback. It's at my home park. It's going to be good. No...it's going to be REALLY good!
DBru Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 ^Same. I can't wait to have a B&M hyper only 3 hours away from me, and it looks like one of the best yet! Oh, and I can't forget about the Pilgrims Plunge! Yea Intamin! (And Holiday World!)
alpengeist04 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 I'm looking forward to HRRR, Manta, and Diamondback, since I'll be riding them in 2009.
KrakenKing Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 HRRR and Manta, they're both 30min or less from me
sam06pr Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I am thrilled to have 2 coaster being built for 09 in my state..Manta and HRRR. Both will be a unique experience (at least in Florida...) and I can't wait to ride them soon
mike541x Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Going back to Chicago (SFGAm and Wisconsin Dells) with friends this time and maybe Cedar Point on the way.
spaceace12 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Diamond back Coastermania Pilgrims Plunge
Speeddeamon128 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Well I'm mostly excited for West Coast but here are a few others. 1. I'm finally going to SFMM after 10 years of waiting (West Coast) 2. My class senior trip to Orlando in June. 3. I'm planning a trip to Six Flags Over Georgia 4. I'm most likely going to hit 300 credits! 5. Hopefully Knoebels Flying Turns opens 6. I might go to Holiday World, Indiana Beach, & Kings Island!
Jcoaster Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 For me it would have to be: 1. Retheme of Medusa- One of my favorite rides, can't wait to see how it turns out. 2. Manta- Looks like it is going to be a great custom flyer. 3. HRRR- I really don't know anything besides it is a Mack and will have a vertical lift.
dpcman Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I can't wait to ride Diamondback and possibly head back to Holiday World for the first time since 2005. Plus I'll get to judge whether the new Boardwalk Extension at Hersheypark was worth tearing out CRR.
almightyfire Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I took my mid west trip this year and i was going out west next year to SFMM. I did Holiday World and Kings Island, I hate I went this year because Diamondback is gonna be there next year and I am excited about it. B&M make the BEST HYPERS there is.
sam06pr Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 For me it would have to be:1. Retheme of Medusa- One of my favorite rides, can't wait to see how it turns out. 2. FeelTheFORCE Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Compared to my previous few summers (where I went to SFMM, KBF, SFGadv, Dorney Park, Wildwood, Silverwood, and more) summer 2009 will be very toned down. It will still be a fun summer, but no huge trips like my Vegas/LA trip in 06 and my Jersey trip this summer. My highlights will be Kings Island (Diamondback), Cedar Point (hopefully a new log flume-type ride), Kennywood (Phantom's Revenge receiving work), and Darien Lake (a new park for me).
Reon Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I don't know how many times I have to say this: DIAMONDBACK!!!!!!!!! Finally, KI gets a good custom coaster, and there will be another reason to get my season pass, aside from Crypt, Firehawk, and Vortex...
Mechanic Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Of the new stuff that I'll actually get to see and ride, Terminator at SFMM is the ride I'm most looking forward to. (I trust it will be up and running by the time we take our annual mid summer trip to SoCal.) I'm also looking forward to next year's WCB. This year's event with EVERY operating coaster in the park open for night ERT was simply awesome. I can't wait to see what they'll do to try to top that.
itnotfair Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Terminator: the Ride. A good GCI, imho, was one of the things SFMM was sorely lacking. It may not be an El Toro, but it'll definitely be a fun ride and stiff *cough cough* competition for the best woodie on the west coast. I was also looking forward to the new GCI for CGA, but it won't happen by '09.
thrillgeek Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 ^That's my most anticipated coaster for 2009. As far as in general....going on my 1st TPR trip to Texas! My countdown has begun. Oh and I should be going to the Terminator (coaster) opening day too.
RCFreak Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I'm looking forward to HRRR HRRR HRRR HRRR AAAAHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA maybe it's just me, but I think that's one of the best acronyms ever! Sounds like evryone is constipated or retarded. As for what I'm most looking forward too, That would probably be Terminator at SFMM. I love GCII coasters (including Gwazi) and it'll be great having one within two hours from me.
Purplepills Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Im looking forward to: A) Saw: The ride B) Finding out what Alton Towers new coaster will be.
Gutterflower Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 For me.. although it will be a while till I ride it, it has to be the new Europa Park coaster. Most other rides going up at the moment we can guess how it will feel pretty well based off other rides by the same manufacturer. Mack's never built a ride such as this so i cant wait to see how it turns out. Smooth or rough? intense or forceless?
larrygator Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 2009 is the first year in a while that I'm not real excited about any of the new coasters I'll be riding. Nothing stands out that much. Luckily, I'll be hitting a few new parks/countires and the coasters there will be new to me.
