DBru Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I think the ride looks very interesting (in a good way), the way it will interact with the building. One of the most fun-looking family coasters we have seen in a while, IMO.

I love how the metal is pulled back like the coaster just ripped right through it. Still not the big of a fan of the colors there using on the buildings they clash with the coaster imo. Overall through it looks like it's going to be a very fun thrilling family ride that I would love the chance to ride regardless what color the buildings or track is.

That's what I'm wondering too, what do you mean? As for some Tornado update... A tornado wouldn't be a tornado without... well the tornado itself so they put up a couple of 'em. And we got trains too! With OTSR's though Wished they had the same restraints as on Pilgrim's Plunge. Oh well. More pictures as usual fromTheme Park Denmark

Maybe the reasons for OTSRs is because lap bars would be too close to the designs of Vekoma and Gerstlauer. I'm not sure how, but I can't think of another reason. At least the OTSRs don't appear to be as bad as those on Intamin's other new coasters.

According to Intamins website, the OTSRs can allow for a lower height limit, hence making it better for families: As there are no overhead figures foreseen, open design trains with lapbars can be used to further enhancing the thrill experience. It is however also possible to use the newly developed Intamin shoulder-bars, which are of very soft material and light design. Vid_w Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Is it just me, or are the cars spinning on the lift? Also, this looks quite insane... Way better than I thought it would be at first... The restraints look like a mix of Intamin Accelerator restraints and the new Vekoma restraints... Might be cool.

Mechanic Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 The lift does look VERY fast. The speed of the car at the 34 second mark is astonishing. Is it likely that testing is being done at higher than normal speeds, simply for testings' sake, and that the actual operating speed will be lower? Granted, we don't see the full circuit in the video, so maybe the speed appears to be high, but really isn't excessive.

Olov Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Tornado finally opened today and looks very cool from a news report. There's some nice spinning, good drops and with a "launch" over the top of lifthill. Can't wait to try it out for myself on the Scandi trip.

Olov Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Since the opening I've been searching for some reports, photos and videoes of this ride but they have been scarce. What's up with that, danes? Here's the little I've found so far. Night time videoes: So from what I have seen there's not much of an lifthill, more like a freaking spinning launch and the rest of the track looks to be pretty intense for a spinning coaster with airtime giving the riders some ache on the shoulders from the OTSRs. I know the guys at themeparkdenmark.dk has been there but not a word written on what the ride is like on their site, I demand some clarification! Oh and Loefet, I read your post on coasterforce but I think I would like to hear from a coaster enthusiast what the roughness is like.
