Here comes a "when's the best time to go" question. I'm looking at the last week of Aug, weekends in Sept or it looks like their open on Friday's in Oct (I would be going during the day to avoid the Haunt crowds).

I'd also guess that the temporary nature of an attraction like DA means an upcharge is the only way to get a quick ROI.

I'm guessing that the long brake run is due to the fact that they're running 3 trains without a mid-course. It probably costs as two blocks in the computer. EDIT: Looks like a couple of people beat me to it.

I agree that Leviathan is pretty much the cats meow with regards to coaster names. Especially when used at the same park as Behemoth. Ziz would have to be a no-brainer for a flyer in the future.

I don't believe that the Top Spin at WoF has opened at all this year and it's been down a ton in past years.

I was recently blown away by Giant. I never rode the old one but this new version is close to being the ideal coaster IMO.

I doubt it's a rope course. The classic carousel from GL has been a rumor for a couple of years now.

I'm betting that a new ride will be added to the area where Festhaus was. A permanent Festhaus near the current location would also make sense. They have plenty of room just to the north of it's current location.

The clues on SFStL's season pass renewal page lead me to believe it will be the 4th Eurofighter in the US.

The chains on a Star Flyer actually surround you a bit. The Windbreaker looks more open.

It's almost as bad as naming Scrambler rides Scrambler and then installing them all over the place.

I am far from disappointed. There are very few flats that I get excited about and if this is 90% as good as a Star Flyer (if not better) then I'm stoked. Enthusiasts bitched about a 300' speed machine last year so our opinions are kind of meaningless even within our own enthusiast circles.

The WoF blog has been giving hints for a couple of weeks now. It looks like a new theater/ice show or a change over to Planet from Camp Snoopy with kiddie ride additions. According to the clues it's over $5 mill.

I took a look at the original POV and the new one from 2 days ago. There is something new on the drop. It doesn't look as if the actual brake fins have been installed though. Just the bracket that will hold them.

Or pour money into a park that has sound sensitive neighbors.

I've heard that the Subway at WoF has been very successful. In the afternoon's the line is out the door. I think that people have slowly been trained to pay more at places like theme parks, baseball games, concerts.... Nobody expects big savings when they go to a park and eat so they eat what sounds the best at the time and pay the listed price. Those that can't or won't pay that much plan ahead and picnic in the parking lot or hit up the local McDonalds. The brunt of the crisis has passed for the most part. Last year the parks had some great deals at the gate and it helped bring people in. During the high point of the crisis you didn't see baseball games discounting beer or food or concerts slashing ticket prices. It's just the nature of the business and for the most part it works.
