  1. It's starting to gain some height. They were probably about half way up the drop when we left at 5pm. http://www.coastercommunity.com/index.php/prowler3.html
  2. Q1) Are you Male/Female? Male Q2) How old are you? 31 Q3) When you go to a theme park, do you prefer riding wooden roller coasters, or steel roller coasters? Steel Q4) Of all the different roller coaster trains, which do you prefer and why? Seated, standing, inversion etc… Intamin hyper because of openness, comfort and small restraint size Q5) What’s your most favourite ride? X2 Q6) When your on a roller coaster what do you think is the most THRILLING part of the ride? (Gives you the biggest buzz/rush?) Ejector air Q7) What do you think is the most SCARY part of the ride? (Makes you think twice about it?) Spinning (afraid of puking) Q8) Do you think roller coasters are LESS scary and thrilling after you’ve ridden them once before? Certainly less scary but not less thrilling Q9) Do you like the idea of an extreme roller coaster? (Think roller coasters crossed with extreme sports) Yes Q10) Themeing… Is the theme important in the overall ride anticipation and ride satisfaction? No, I would rather see that money go towards a more extreme ride Q11) Queuing… Do you like to see the ride whilst in the queue? Or do you prefer the sense of not knowing what is going to happen? I like to see it, hear it and smell it Q12) Because of the direct proportionality between rides and queue length, do you prefer short ride/short queue, or long ride/long queue? A longer ride is more important to me and if that means a longer queue then so be it Q13) Is there anything you would like to see improved/changed with roller coasters? More intesity
  3. Prowler for me. It's magically delicious.
  4. Got a closer look today. http://www.coastercommunity.com/index.php/prowler2.html
  5. Park update. http://prowler.worldsoffun.com/public/latest/index.cfm?gallery_directory=construction&startRow=76&maxRow=15 Since it stays pretty close the ground they are making quick work of it.
  6. Totally off topic but how can Ohio claim that they're in the Midwest? Wouldn't Mideast be more appropriate? They're two states east of the freakin Mississippi.
  7. Thanks I have some more that I've piled up over the last couple of weeks that I'll eventually get around to posting. Friday will be our final trip of the year as well.
  8. Vertical construction has started in the turn around. http://prowler.worldsoffun.com/public/latest/index.cfm?gallery_directory=construction&startRow=61&maxRow=15
  9. The chick/dude with the lizard guy is hella spooky. I got a good shot of her/him last weekend.
  10. With all due respect to these great-looking things, I hope they come after a Mega-lite or two... These do look like a lot of fun, and a fairly intense ride, all while taking up a tiny footprint (like the impulses, but cooler). I'm with this guy. The Mega-lites look like a lot of fun.
  11. Vertical construction should be starting soon. http://www.coastercommunity.com/index.php/prowler.html
  12. We score a construction tour this week and some the details are starting to emerge. Schlitterbahn is describing this as their "crown jewel". http://www.coastercommunity.com/index.php/Schlitterbahn-Vacation-Village-Oct-08-Construction-Tour.html
  13. Newness on the Prowler site. http://prowler.worldsoffun.com/public/latest/index.cfm?gallery_directory=construction&startRow=31&maxRow=15 It's a footer farm.
  14. SDC doesn't get as much press as it should. It's hard to go there and not have an awesome time. I like Dollywood as well but SDC is much better and it rarely gets mentioned anywhere.
  15. Another update. http://coastercommunity.com/smf_forum/everything-coasterride-related/prowler-construction-pics/msg16076/#msg16076
  16. Dirt and trees on the move. http://prowler.worldsoffun.com/public/latest/
  17. Wof.org got some shots of the area in question. http://www.worldsoffun.org/prowler_construction.asp
  18. They were probably waiting for the big ass crane to arrive.
  19. Flat woods? There's a 17 foot deep ravine that it's going in and out of. There's very little flat land back there.
  20. I think that the terrain is the reason for the extra cash.
  21. Coaster Con is at WoF next year...
  22. It reminds me of the 2nd half of Voyage.
  23. We're watching the announcement so I figured that I would pass along some bits of info while we wait for the Prowler site to go live. First drop – 85 feet Length – 3074 feet Speed – 51 mph Elevation change – 102 feet (the ride ends 17 feet below the bottom of the first drop in a ravine). It stays really close the ground after the 2nd hill, which goes through the lift. I'm guessing that it never gets more than 20-25 feet off the dirt. They are keeping as many trees as possible. This doesn't look anything like any other GCI out there. Pacing will probably be a winner. There aren't any high hills or turns for it to burn off speed.
  24. I'm guessing that both elevator platforms are connected to each other via cables and work to counter balance each other. Timing shouldn't be an issue.
  25. I'm going to guess that it doesn't.
