  1. We were actually up there for Coaster Craze, it's just taken me a little while to pull the camera back out of the back. Renegade had been on my mind most of the summer and it was time to check it out. The morning ERT session was actually a huge let down. It was running slow and didn't have the excitement that I'm used to with GCI's. Once it got dark Renegade got good and good is probably an understatement. I can easily rank it right up with with Thunderhead on the GCI list. The airtime was crazy and the speed was great. We rode 12 times in a row, which is not something we normally do, even if it is ERT time. So if you head up there don't judge it until later in the day. It's a completely different animal. Here's some of our other photos from around the park. Valleyfair Photos Here's one last shot of Renegade. Can you spot the enthusiast (hint: it's the person showing enthusiasm)? The front wound up being our favorite spot though. The drop was a surprise though. The back rows increased the amount of awesomeness.
  2. I've started figuring them out. Thanks They all seem to close really early.
  3. I'm having a problem finding English sites for Yokohama Cosmoworld and Yomiuriland. Where did you guys score info on hours of operation? We're planning on hitting both of these parks on Monday Sept 3rd.
  4. The key word in the following link is "allowed". http://www.local6.com/news/13701541/detail.html
  5. I saw in another story that she was invited by the ride op to cut. It's probably one of those situations where they needed two people.
  6. I can't believe that people are defending this type of behavior. The kid is lucky a husband didn't break his face open.
  7. Would an on the spot jury trial meet the burden of proof that you're looking for? Something can be legal and still be against park rules. Should women have to wear burkas when it' 90 degrees outside. She might have been wearing a tank top, which doesn't always translate to boob advertising.
  8. You might be getting carried away with the word exposed. It could have been as simple as her bending over and the kid taking a photo down her shirt. Either way I doubt that it's the type of activity that any parks wants happening inside of their gates.
  9. If it's not illegal then there isn't a reason to confiscates the camera. If someone is going around the park making people feel uncomfortable by doing something like this then it would make sense that the park gave him the boot. Several others apparently found the act disrespectful as well. If they didn't do this and photos started showing up on a website somewhere then WoF might have a liability issue. I believe that they did the right thing.
  10. It's definitely an improvement over recent years and it looks as if the work is still ongoing. I wonder when they plan to finish it and I also wonder if there is any chance of the trims being turned off. One can hope.
  11. Flippin sweet!!!
  12. The couple on the bench was actually in line behind us during ERT on The Voyage and we struck up a conversation with them. They're from NoCal and that's about all that I know.
  13. I'm looking forward to my first SFKK visit this coming Wednesday. We're taking a break from Coaster Con and spending the day in Louisville. Several people have told me not to waste my time but I've never let that stop me before.
  14. You'll have time to ride Mamba more than once so try for the 3rd row after you ride in the back. You'll score some extended floater air.
  15. snorkymn, I was there the same day you were and TW was far from rough. I guess that perception is reality though. I ride in the back pretty much every time so maybe I've built up a back callus. It has however become a very moody ride. If the drop brake is on hard it's tame and boring and if it's off the first 70% of the ride is fairly intense and fun. The new brake insures that the last 30% of the ride isn't going to hurt but you're going to limp into the station, which is fine with me since there's not much airtime to be had in that section.
  16. I've heard others speculate that TW rolling at full speed would reduce the shuffling. I guess that slower speeds = more shuffling.
  17. The back is smoother but the air doesn't compare to earlier in the year. Roughness isn't even an issue anymore.
  18. It's going to open to the public on Saturday.
  19. I seem to be alone in my opinion of TW but it seems neutered now. It is smoother but the intensity is pretty all gone. Earlier in the year the brake on the first drop didn't seem as tight and the new brake going into the last big turn wasn't on and it was a great ride. Now it just crawls through the course. I'll take intense with roughness over smooth with boredom every time.
  20. Mucho Gracias!!! It looks like early September is the way to go. If you all happen to see a really good looking tall American feel free to say hi.
  21. I haven't read the entire thread but my wife and I have been planning a Japan trip for the last couple of months and I was curious about the expected crowds during the TPR trip. We're not a part of the trip but if you've already done the home work we figured we would move our trip from Oct to Sept.
  22. ^^ You're afraid of boobs?
  23. That would be the greatest ERT session ever!
  24. It's similar to a Power Surge but made by Moser http://www.wildwestworld.net/images/FlippingActionArm.JPG
  25. The park was everything that I would expect out of a brand new park in Wichita, KS. It's a good size with a great mix of rides. The vivid colors really jump out though and the lack of mature trees is going to hurt in August. It's going to be a fun spot for families in the area. A future water park would make a lot of sense IMO>
