Legoland held an open house earlier this week to discuss their proposed park for Lee's Summit, MO. This gave the community a chance to ask questions and learn a bit more about the parks intentions. They hope to have final approval in 6 months and then begin construction this summer. The proposed opening date is 2009. I believe that Schlitterbahn has moved it's opening date up to 2008. And I'm not sure what is pulling all these parks to the Kansas City area but I like it and I hope that Legoland wins approval. Here's a couple of photos that we too from the event. I die a little inside every time I see picture of ZZ. It's partially responsible for my coaster addiction. It really looks great in it's new home though.

That Gallery software can be a real pain once you start messing it with but the customization options are practically limitless. Have any animations come out for this one?

^You need to work on customizing your Gallery2. This may have been mentioned already but are they beefing up the supports because of hurricanes? It just looks really dense.

Where would one go to see more photos like that one? Did someone do a construction tour and not post the link?

I remember hearing that SD and OE we're supposed to coexist for at least one year but OE was torn down a year earlier than expected due to maintenance costs. This could be completely off base though. Steel is right about SD not coming within 30 yards of OE's brake run. When you exit Lore you're basically right under the area that the brake would occupy and you would be able to see that SD is still a ways off.

I flew off of aircraft carriers while in the Navy and this is the closest that I can come to replicating that. The rush is what I'm after and my wife is in it for the travel.

WoF sounds like a good location to me. I enjoyed the 2 laps that I took on X-Flight a few years back.

Worlds of Fun 25 minutes away Soon Schlitterbahn will be 10 minutes away And if I'm lucky Legoland will be 3 minutes away (pending approval by the city)

I'm a huge fan of SDC but next year will be the first time that consider a season pass. With the addition of a themed Xtreme Swing it will be hard to settle for just 1 trip per year.

Would the weight restriction go in both directions? I know that my wife goes a lot slower down the slides than I do and I've always figured that it was due to her tinyness.

OK, maybe it will add something. I just don't see how you keep every single person from stalling out. The chance of injury and then additional bad news for the industry seems awfully high with an attraction like this. Will I ride it? I would cetainly give it a shot.

Would it really add anything to the experience? I doubt it.
