_koppen
Looks like there won't be a construction tour for me Oh well, here's to hoping there will be another one.
Loefet
Thanks all for the comments. Had another opportunity to drive by the park today, and even if the rain was pouring down the RCS guys were working hard installing the first corkscrew. Shame that the Web-cam are off during the weekend so we can't see anything Looks like there won't be a construction tour for me Oh well, here's to hoping there will be another one. Yeah it's a shame you couldn't join in. Will do my best to take as many images as possible so you can enjoy the most of it on your computer. Fortunately they said that it's likely that there will be a few more, if not then there are other ways to arrange something similar in the future and I'll give you a heads up if you are interested if it comes to that. Koasterking48
With all of the coasters coming in 2014, this ride to me is THE standout coaster of the year! Goliath is a close second.

Loefet
Massive Helix behind the scenes update 2013-11-12 First of all I would like to really thank the people at Liseberg for creating this opportunity for many of us that are interested in the Helix construction. I have to say that there were a lot more people there than I expected, which was really nice to see. We got access to all the "safe" areas since there were lot's of work going on at all sites, so there are a few spots where I can't give any close up images. But it still easily beats standing on top of a hill/parking structure trying to any great details. We were fortunate to see the top of the second corkscrew were installed, so the track work is progressing nicely, just a few pieces left until the whole section from the drop out of the station to the turn after the second corkscrew is completed. There were still many footers being worked on, so there is plenty of stuff to do before all the track can be put into place. Also, this day marked a big step in the landscaping of the ride where the first 2 out of 200 trees were planted, all these trees will insure that the hill will become as dense and lush as it have before which will make the ride on Helix/Lisebergbanan a real treat. These trees aren't perfect ones (straight and symmetrical) but are allowed to grow as they like to increase the natural look of the area. Getting 2:nd rate trees also allowed Liseberg to get a massive rebate when purchasing them, which is always a plus since those funds can be used to get more themeing, landscaping, etc. Now onto the images!! First up a few from the hill across the highway, then images from the visit and then finally another massive panorama for you all to explore at home Enjoy!! Second corkscrew is getting it's upside down part Second launch getting even more work Now into the park we go, several people have eagerly gathered outside to have a sneak peak of Helix My first close encounter of Helix apart from petting some supports through the fence of the staging area Mmmm, can't wait Getting close where you will be propelled up to 80 Km/h First you will drop down this slope (they have rotated the supports I noted in the earlier pictures Liseberg posted on their blog ) Then you go into these nice looking twisty bit Shoot across the path Fly by the freshly planted trees Tightly sneaking past these old ones 2:nd old tree passage This is the end of the Helix teaser since.. ..once you hit these there is no turning back After the first launch there is a tight passage over the escalator.. ..and into the second corkscrew It's really funny to see how many variations there are on the track on Helix, this one it a bit strange compared to the other ones Atmosfear still dominates Liseberg. Note, there will be a third web-cam coming on-line soon giving a birds eye view of big parts of the building site from the top of Atmosfear <3 This area looks great with Helix zooming past overhead Nice curves Soon to be completed first corkscrew Some winter theming is going in Work is well under way for the massive structure that will be underground to support the Pretzel-loop Mmmmm Several supports for the turnaround that will get you to the in-line area They will fix Lisebergbanan once they start work on the Helix footers here Helix will completely dominate this area, towering 15 meters above Uppswinget which is in itself 20 meters tall More Corkscrew action Second launch looking tall More footers at the Helix helix Somewhere between the zero-g and the helix Helix will dive underneath Lisebergbanan at these brakes and dive into it's helix Also behind (where the people are standing) there is the famous super tight passage into the second launch. Liseberg are confident that it will all fit, but there are still some doubts and we don't really know until the track is installed here Looking back on the Lisebergbanan passage Then we did a little excursion to the staging area, and had a look inside Just a few more pieces here, they really need to get more deliveries to keep on working This piece will go right before the second launch, by the look of these brackets for the cat-walks Mr Crane looking tall Really hard to know where this piece will go, but I would guess it may be a part of the s-turns before the in-line Second launch are going to be epic Another support, this time for Flume Ride, have been removed so that the work on Helix can progress Tight hole from the other direction From here.. ..into oblivion Balders says hi!! Construction HQ Some Reindeer's are living underneath Liseberbanan now before winter, really strange really, must have something to do with the Christmas season that starts this firday Footers are well under way here Mmmmm, In-line twist Looking tall Can't wait to go spinning out of control through here Some more new footers Some that are getting ready to pour Lot's of work still left to do in this area Station through With the future maintenance area next to it, it will be situated onto of all these poles to the left Final footer before you are back into the station The Liseberg wheel looking wicked at night And with this image we near the end of this update. A massive Thank You!! to Liseberg that made this all possible I would love to come back sometime to have another look soon But until the next update, you all have a great time!! Panorama 2013-11-12.zip This is the final piece of this update, another massive panorama of the whole mountain side, download, unzip and explore the whole area yourself. Enjoy!! Olov
Excellent update Loefet! Been waiting all day long for this and I'm satisfied Can't wait to enter the park and see the train swosh down that turn after the first corkscrew. Colours of the support and track looks very fitting with the surrounding area and Liseberg's colour palette.

XYZ
Great update. This is one heck of a nice looking coaster and, like others have said, it fits perfectly with its surroundings. I'm slightly jealous of those going on the Scandi trip, but they're definitely in for a treat (and they know it.)
