Loefet
people where asking for a source, the source where from "rosa sidorna" the pink pages , lisebergs own web... they had a infomeeting where this picture where shown on a powerpoint, and i snapped it off and put it here. I get access to the pink pages because i work here in liseberg. Ah OK, then a big thanks to you for letting us know about it!! So this makes the image a lot more "official", but it's still an early concept (in my mind) of what can be done with the space that Liseberg have since it haven't been officially announced yet. I'm also pretty sure that this expansion won't happen for a few years, since these things needs a lot of planning to get right, so that it will work with future park expansions. I have posted my views of it on the previous page, and I really think that some things might need some work to be just right for Liseberg. Anyway, very nice of you to share this, I really hope that you can keep us updated on this and other things in the future!!

Loefet
^ Great to know Liseberg posted a few new images on the construction blog, in my opinion then they don't really show much progress so I won't post them here. There is on the other hand some good information released in the text, like the construction of the Station will start really soon, so there might be something more interesting than some piles of stones lying around in the future. Also the trains will be arriving sometime next week, and be put on display beside the fountain just before the escalator up to Atmosfear if you are coming from the main entrance. And seeing these news, then I might consider putting of this weeks update till next week when the trains have arrived. Since there isn't that much that is going to change for the rest of the build, except for some more footers have been completed. So until then.. BTW, here is the link to the newest official update so far: http://projekthelix.se/foton-fran-bygget-del-2/
jray21
The car really does look cool. Can't wait to see the full train.
XYZ
The zero car looks great, though it doesn't surprise me as large Mack coasters typically have great looking trains, like Manta (SWSD) and Blue Fire.
Nrthwnd
The front car of the train looks very nice. Scary and nice.
Loefet
^ Hopefully there will be more to see later this week Anyway, last week were a bit strange at Liseberg. The new attraction Högspänningen (tower/ferriswheel ride) got shut for some unknown reason with no specific time frame on when it will reopen, most likely waiting for some parts to arrive, a rabbit got molested by some guy which then threatened the security when they came to deal with the incident and then there were an attempted kidnapping in the park, some random guy grabbed a 10 year old kid and tried to leave the park. Just hope that there will not be any more of these incidents in the park in the future, but this is one of the reasons why going during the vacation period might be a bad idea. Loefet
Yes, I know it's a double post, but in this case I don't care, because look at this!! SOURCE: Liseberg FB page. Seems like I'm going for a bike ride this evening So expect more pictures later!!
RCT3Bross
That looks great like that. The train it self is really beautiful.
Moose
Are the seats supported only in the center if the car? Interesting. Is blue fire the same way? Great looking car.

Loefet
Helix update, Front car sexiness OK, so a few hours and 65 km of bike cycling later (it was shorter than I thought, and I'm a lot quicker than what Google estimated on the route, even if I had strong head wind most of the way. I'm back!! And I have some goodies for you all. But before I get to the great stuff then I will begin with the normal update as usual Hello Liseberg garden centre, I passed this on the way there. All flowers at Liseberg begins their life here Also on the way to the park, everything from this point on the right and everything after the bridge to the left will soon belong to Liseberg, this will be the most southern tip of Liseberg in the future, just to give you a hint on how massive this expansion area is This is the small hill I was talking about in the reply to that rendering that was posted a few pages back, it should really be kept in my opinion Now into the park, and we start at the Construction HQ The second launch area had some new markers They have upgraded the digger at this location to continue under Lisebergbanan More screens at this location than before, wonder why.. They have removed the small wall that were next to the massive hole Close up of the footer attachment I was talking about in the last update They have cleaned up the area at the end of the first launch so we will soon see footer construction here Station area, nothing new that I can see Brand new sticks in the ground at the final in-line twist Footers again They have dug up that little path that run through here, and it seems like they have finally worked out that wet floor problem they have had More first launch area Footers curing, but what's that behind those bushes down there.. Mmmm, SEXY!! They have put some massive re-bar into the ground at the first few footers 8A is ready to be installed Up the first launch First turnaround area First launch again Looks like they are going to shut down this path, this will be bad news for handicapped and parents with prams, since this is the easiest path up the the top of the mountain Towards the top, I know that you all want to see what's just to the right of this image, but you have to wait a bit longer, just a few more images The construction along the Lisebergbanan queue is moving ahead Other direction Not much new here Or here for that matter This is the attraction that is shut at the moment, there were a Rabbit there explaining that we should shoot heart signs like a crazed Japanese anime girl to be able to fix it But before Helix train images, I had a very tasty Saffron and Honey ice cream from "Lejonet och Björnet" (The Lion and the Bear), perfect place if you want an ice cream in the park, it's quite hidden away so there isn't any people there so you don't have to wait in line for the best ice in the park I can't really stall much longer, I have run out of images to do so, so here is the train in all it's glory. It's put on a small section of track in a small garden type feature, and it's all fenced of so that coaster fans won't drool all over it A little closer These white glowing eyes, will be epic at night Green wheels, NICE!! Cantilevered seats with awesome restraints in all their glory, can't wait to ride it A final image, until next time!!
SharkTums
I just want to say how awesome and refreshing it is to see a park working on their 2014 ride now! Can't wait to ride this next year!
cal1br3tto
Love the way the car looks nestled among the trees like that. Beautiful colors, too.
RCT3Bross
I think they couldn't place it better than where it is now. It's just beautiful between the green, and even with all that green the train pop's out of it. To be honest I thought they would display it on some square in the park with some rope around it. This is just: wow.

Xtroverto
My first post, yay! Ok so this roller coaster was redesigned between the first press release and the current one. Basically as I understand they added an inversion at the beginning and swiched the twisted airtime hump-corkscrew combo into an inverted tophat-airtime hump combo. In the last interview the park CEO mentions that the Coaster now is 54 (177 feet) metres tall as opposed to the 41 (134 feet) that was given before the redesign. I guess these 13 extra metres are part of the swich from airtime hump to inverted top hat? Anyway, it is interesting as the original reason for going with a Mack ride as opposed to a B&M or an intamin ride was that they didn't want to build a huge imposing coaster with tons of support beams, but now with the redesign they kind of did that anyway. Still 54 metres is shorter than the 65 ish that the original design had.
ernierocker
^Most of the coaster is still hugging the terrain though. Really looking forward to seeing the trackwork started on this one!
_koppen
Anyway, it is interesting as the original reason for going with a Mack ride as opposed to a B&M or an intamin ride was that they didn't want to build a huge imposing coaster with tons of support beams, but now with the redesign they kind of did that anyway. The reason they chose Mack had nothing to do with the size of the ride, the original design was from Mack, and that ride was going to be huge. They wanted the ride to appeal to as broad audience as possible, and that is what Mack's mega coasters do, with being extremely smooth and comfortable, not overly intense, and having a lower height restrictions than B&M and Intamin while still using lap bars.
