bert425
^COOL!!! that sign is leftover from Power Surge. that is NOT a "Wonder Woman" sign. was at park today (great day for it), and a highlight was after BSing w/ the clerks in the Wonder Woman store (regarding the products for sale. .as a comics fan, we talked about how some of the shirts have Wondy's boots blue, and some have them red. . . LOL and also about how they have a one-piece swimsuit with cape attached to it, that could go *horribly* wrong, depending on who purchases it and/or wears it. . LOL), a gentleman started up a conversation with me. I thought maybe he was someone from TPR, as he commented on my shirt, but turned out he was a very nice guy wearing an ACE jacket (I believe his name was Michael), and when I told him I was a member of TPR, he said "that's cool. . i have no problem with TPR. . LOL). anyways, he's the one that filmed the first test run and posted to instagram, and besides being a member of ACE and several San Antonio groups as well, he's at the park a lot, and Management knows him. I know this, because while we were chatting about the coaster, and the test runs, a Supervisor approached and greeted him by name. This Manager had a very nice conversation with us about the coaster (which is looking great) and about various rumors going around regarding opening. We were asked not to repeat certain things (specific dates, next steps for ride readiness, etc), and out of respect for that, I will not repeat. but the general takeaway, was "soon" One thing that was mentioned, that I thought was interesting, and was told I could post (maybe it's been discussed elsewhere), was that Six Flags was offered 2 coaster trains, and they actually asked for a 3rd one. So that's why Wonder Woman will have 3 trains. All 3 trains are on site, tho only 1 of them has the "branding" and decals on it, and I did ask about that. . and was told all 3 trains will be fully detailed, so just stand by. Will have pics ad mini trip report up a little later here, but got pics of the "grouping" shed (that sounds ominous. . LOL), and the station, which are both looking GREAT
LiftThrill
Dang, that's pretty cool! I'm way too excited to see this thing in real, honest to goodness action "soon," whenever that may be

matthew.sullivan1
I had an awesome day at the park too. It wasn’t horribly crowded, and the weather turned out nice toward the end of the day. IRat was amazing, and is my new number 3. I was also able to make Poltergest my 100th cred! Overall I had a blast at the park and hopefully I can get back soon! bert425
so, as noted, went to Fiesta Texas today and it turned out to be a perfect day to go. Overcast and in the 40's in Austin, turned to sunny and low 70's by early afternoon in San Antonio. (I got there ~11:45, and stayed until 4:15 or so) Parked fairly far back in the empty lot, as I wanted to park under a "number" for later, but upon entering the park, I noticed that Goliath was running with open seats. So after a quick stop to use the restroom (it's a *drive* from Austin ), I ignored my standard advice, and took a left after entering, and found a walk on to back row. I was so shocked at the lack of people, I sent a pic to my spouse to give him crap for not coming with me (he didn't want to deal with crowds on a Sunday). the rest of the day pretty much went like that, and I made my way around the park, enjoying rides on things I wanted to, and skipping rides on things he usually makes me ride when he's with (no thank you this trip Roadrunner, or Pandemonium). in just over 4 hours in the park, got my fill for the day, ate lunch, had some great conversations with lots of new people I met (when riding solo, you get to know the person you're sharing a seat with a bit, and most were very cool), and wander around the park to look at things. I mentioned the conversation with the Supervisor in the post above, but other take always from today: -- almost EVERYTHING was operating, and the coasters seemed to be mostly running at least 2 trains. (the operation at Superman was the best I have ever seen in the park. . even tho it was a walk on for both of my rides, they were cycling trains at crazy speeds. . it was impressive. . to the point that I actually mentioned it (and the Crew) to the Supervisor I was talking to near Wonder Woman). I was encouraged to send an email about it, and I will. Hell, even Twister (a Top Spin) was operating! (with people riding it. . not me tho, I had just eaten, so no thank you). -- Poltergeist was not open and stayed closed for much of the time I was in the park the Supervisor (it was a good 5-10 minute conversation) noted, when I responded to the question "was I having a good time at the park" with. . "Poltergeist is my favorite, but it's not open today, but yes, still having a good time" . .told me that because the day had started off in the 40's, it was causing some issues with the launch system, but as the day warmed up they were hoping to get it running. and sure enough, around 3pm, they started cycling empty cars, and I headed to the entrance to find it open (got on first train of the day as walk on (back seat), and then got back in line for a station wait for front row). By then line had started to form, and as Poltergeist was only running one train (only coaster that only had 1), I was satisfied with my two rides, and moved on. -- Fireball was the only other ride down, and this one stayed down the whole day (there was no train on the loop!). -- over at the old Scooby Doo attraction, there is now a sign out front, with a number to call (to report pirates, supposedly. . LOL). I did not call, but did get a picture of it. In fact, I was taking the picture of it when i saw Poltergeist start to cycle, so that's why I got distracted and forgot to dial the #. -- the SuperHero store is carrying some GREAT merchandise, including a killer "reverse Flash" shirt, that I bought, a Poison Ivy shirt that I want (my Bday is coming up, so didn't buy it myself), and Batman vs Superman Rockem Sockem Robots! overall count for the day: Goliath (walk on, back row) Iron Rattler x 2 (back row station wait, front row walk on (filling single rider seat, after walking all the way around and back up)). Skyscreamer Superman x 2 (back from walk on, 2nd row walk on) Lunch Johnny Rockets (thanks meal plan) Batman (only once, as I had just eaten, but really no line) Poltergeist x 2 (back row walk on, front row station wait) Snack (yay for Johnny Rockets Chocolate Shakes being considered a "snack"..best option at the park Train (to relax before driving back home) anyhow.. here are the pics. . . hope you enjoy! I'm here! it's chilly. . but hopefully will warm up. no line, so went for Goliath. the new paint really pops from the queue. see? no line (this was a "you should have come, look at the line" text to my spouse) and here's the line for Iron Rattler. Yep. . NO LINE Skyscreamer was a 15 minute wait, but only 2 cycles. Go figure. but while riding it, saw that Superman had no line all the way up the stairs. . . so decided to go there next. Fiesta Texas really is a beautiful park. Can't compare with a Busch Gardens, but by far it's the prettiest Six Flags park. Superman Queue (or lack thereof) ditto. . OMG. . Twister is operating! and people were riding it. I watched it cycle while I sat next door and ate lunch. then went to Batman, and realized i could get a pic of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman together. so nerdy me took a photo. No Testing today, but all 3 cars are on the transfer tracks, and there were folks working on them. only the middle car is fully detailed at the moment tho. note the Water Dummies in the seats of the non-detailed trains this is the Grouping station. . where they will divide the folks up before they move them into the main station (with the moving walkway) to load the trains. the stone pillars (made of real stone, per discussion with those who would know) look fantastic on the main station. Fireball, but missing. . . "something" Sadly Poltergeist was not operating, but was keeping an eye on it. Meanwhile noticed a sign by the old Scooby Doo and went to get a pic of it. . and lo and behold. . Poltergeist distracts me by testing, before I can call the number on the shooting dark ride sign after back to back Poltergeist rides, I needed something to relax. you can get some lovely shots from the train. . even if it's a picture of a Boomerang I have no idea. It intrigued me, but really, no idea. . LOL Rockem Sockem Robots! the Reverse Flash shirt I bought As I was headed out at 4, this was the line to get thru Security (before the main gates!). Yeah.. .they were only running 1 station. My guess would be that due to lack of crowd, they shut down the other 2 gates and sent folks home. . . as there were 3 security gates open when I arrived. back at my car. . yep, the lot really filled up! offerings in the Wonder Woman "exit thru the gift shop" store Edited April 9, 2018 by bert425
thedlr
Sorry for the confusion. I was totally kidding with that 11am post, though I had no idea that sign is actually a remnant from the previous ride. ^ Looks like you had a nice day at the park! I can only hope we have that same luck in a couple of Fridays.

coneyislandchris
All those pictures are making me anxious for my first visit to the park later this week. I am already mentally checked out and on vacation, but I won't be there until Friday. At this point I've already given up on hoping for Wonder Woman to open up in time for my visit, but I'm not going to let that deter me from having a great time at a new park. Really looking forward to riding Iron Rattler, that thing looks ridiculous in all the best ways!

Really looking forward to riding Iron Rattler, that thing looks ridiculous in all the best ways! it's such a short ride, but it's really great. I prefer back left side, but the front row is great at least once, since you get that "stall" over the 1st drop while waiting for the rest of the train to crest the hill. as noted Poltergeist is my favorite coaster in the park, so absolutely try to get a ride on that. I think they start opening on Fridays this coming week.. so the crowd MIGHT be big-ish. If they are only running 1 train operations on that Friday? yeah, I'd grab a Flash Pass (I never do, because I have season pass so if line is too long, I just skip until next time). . but this is your first trip to park? if it's at all crowded, go for it. it will REALLY cut on wait times on Iron Rattler (brings you right up to Station), Poltergeist (again, right up to Station) and Superman (brings you to merge at bottom of station stairs). Wait and see what the lines are tho. . .
bert425
and by the way, called the number here, and it's basically a recorded message (someone doing a slightly passable "pirate" accent. . LOL) talking about how they are dangerous and don't cross them. and ending saying the adventure will "be here soon" so kudos for them attempting to raise excitement on this . . although I'm sure they are aware that Wonder Woman is overwhelming any hype they would be getting for this. bert425
Same guy posted a new video. They've started 3-train tests. yeah. that was on Sat I will note that folks working the gift shop thought the statue of Diana would be at the entrance plaza, not in the "grouping station" . . but yeah, there is a stage of some sort there. . so maybe a statue of Zeus? (since he brought her to life?).. who knows. we were just bs-ing, and they freely admitted it could be anything they put on the pedestal at the entrance plaza (maybe just flowers or something) . . so the statue of Diana, could be going on that stage in there. coneyislandchris
as noted Poltergeist is my favorite coaster in the park, so absolutely try to get a ride on that. Don't worry -- I plan on riding as much as I possibly can. I'm not one to skip coasters, I always try to give everything a fair shake. And since this is pretty much, from what I understand, just Flight of Fear + outside - hold brakes I'm fully on board for it. Wait and see what the lines are tho. . . Already budgeted for Flash Passes if necessary for sure. Hoping that won't be the case but if it is, I'm ready. Are they usually crowded at opening on Fridays? Is there some sort of local holiday that would cause more people than normal to be at the park on a weekday?
bert425
^ nothing "holiday" that I've heard of.. but I'd expect crowds just due to it's the first Friday "standard" open day (other than Spring Break, they've only been open Sat/Sun). . . and folks are really excited about Wonder Woman, so I think all the footage of it testing (some of which got shown on local news) is going to stir up folks wanting to go and not realizing the coaster isn't open yet. but I hope you have a slow day, since Schools are still in session
thedlr
Is the flash pass price the same in person vs online? I know the gold season pass gives $5 off per person but probably have to do that in the park. Anyway this is more about waiting to see if it's even necessary on the day. SimiGeek
It looks lovely in person. I am so sad I scheduled my trip and it didn't open. Oh well. The park was lovely. The park president Jeffery was cleaning trash walking around and talking to visitors. It wasn't busy at all so everything was a walk-on when stuff was open (things closed a few times because of wind).
