Johnlloyd
Didn't HUSS discontinue the Trokia? Yes, quite a few years ago. But, what Cedar Fair is doing, they announced back in August that they set out a group of ride scavengers to seek vintage rides throughout Europe to bring back to their parks. So, this is a used Huss Troika and not a new one.
Vonni
Didn't HUSS discontinue the Trokia? This will be a relocation, not a new ride. EDIT: ^beat me to it
PhantomPoster32
Well, if thunderhawk did get removed like rumors last said, the condor could go there. Would you want it that close to SteelHawk though? Also, last time I drove past the park -- earlier last month -- it (Thunderhawk) was still standing. Makes me think it will be back this season. (SURPRISE!) Well, interestingly enough, Thunderhawk is no longer listed on Worlds of Fun's website. Here's the list of thrill rides and coasters. Also, Dorney Park had removed their Top Spin, Hang Time this time last year. I was slightly disappointed by that because I was looking forward to riding my first Huss Top Spin during my first visit to Dorney Park last June. It's a shame to see these Top Spins disappear but, they have quite a few maintenance issues. It was removed from the Thrill Ride list once HAUNT started as that entire section of the park was closed down during the day - and the exit for TimberWolf was relocated to exit behind Cyclone Sam's. Now I don't know if that is a permanent "removal" from the website or if they just haven't added it back. I guess we'll find out once they release the park map for this year
Slides to rides
It could just sit for a while. Who knows. I'd like to see it up and running again some day. From what it sounds like, Thunderhawk is in pretty good shape too. Wayne was telling me how many problems they were having at Kings Dominion with their Gondola slightly warping. Thunderhawk just did go through a rebuild a couple of years ago too. Its hard to say if it's a good idea to remove it because of how much money they already invested in it, and what they will need to invest in it in the future if it says open. Ridership didn't seem very high for the most part too, which is a major factor in keeping the ride open. I can see why because the ride is probably intimidating to the General Public. Honestly if you aren't exiting Timber Wolf, you really have no reason to go by it. Now if the Triotech Dark Ride (rumored) gets put in that area, the ridership for the ride might go up significantly. Very True. Again (Hopefully) that area can be revitalized in one way or another.

Agreed. Top Spins need to dominate an area. Best placement of one I've seen is King Chaos at SF Great America. It's in a central location along one side of the Mardi Gras plaza and is very visible. Worlds of Fun could make such a plaza back in that area and give people a reason to be there.

Well if that was the problem they could have just tried relocating it to a new spot in the park where it could get more guests, so I think it was mainly removed because it required lots of maintenance -that is if it was even removed which it probably wasn't

Ridership was low last year because TimberWolf was closed a good portion of the start of the season for reprofiling. Then the entire section was closed during HAUNT. The previous season Thunderhawk was closed most of the season for a refurb. So people just got used to it being closed. If the park puts something else in the area, I'm sure the ride would get more riders
Geauga Dog
IIRC when I was at WOF in 1989 there was a ride called the Omegatron. Did it also have the same ridership issues that Thunderhawk has now since I believe it was tucked back by Timber Wolf?

jarmor
https://panjiva.com/Corroy-Consulting-Co-GmbH/37517526 Found some information on the ride refurbishment company. I feel accomplished now lol. I work in customs brokerage and reading that bill of laden made me feel I was back at work. Makes me wanna call some contacts at panalpina to see what else cedar fair brought in!
PhantomPoster32
Looking at aerial maps of the park - wish they'd put Condor in the Orient section. It could go behind Rickshaw Richard's or between Bamboozler and Voyager. It would just be nice to have a new ride over there.
Slides to rides
I think the Troika will go over by Windseekerhawk or I guess it could easily fit around where the Rockin Reeler used to stand. I think it would have been cool if they got a Musik Express too, which would bring back Rockin Reeler in a way. I want the Condor to go in Europa. I looked at the area of the Condor at Six Flags Great America and it could fit in the Le Carousel area. It would be a rather tight fit but I wouldn't be too upset if they took out Le Carousel. If they wanted, they could throw Le Carousel into Planet Snoopy. I'm really interested to see what they'll do.
OrientZinger
Pretty happy about this addition as well. How much service life is left in Boomerang? Used when it was installed in 2000. My wife suggested Condor and (possible) Premier Skycoaster II in this area if Boomer was removed. Funny the coaster is kinda part of landscape now. I tend to agree with the Condor in Europa camp. Troika in an area that needs traffic...

I'll do some research. That would make it even more sad to hear that a relocated boomerang replaced the great Zinger. I don't think it was relocated though. I remember seeing some pictures a while back. Plus I'm pretty sure the older ones made a different sound when going up the on the right.
OrientZinger
Worked their in 2000 on my days off. Walked by when I worked at either Nile or Monsoon. I remember the gosh awful color green on track. The support color escapes me though. Maybe someone on the forum can help confirm the construction history of what I remember? Couldnt find anything on google.

To clear things up, WOF:boomerang is new and never was relocated SFSTL: boomerang is green with orange supports, relocated from SFOT (formerly Flashback). Boomerangs are everywhere so I see how it can be confusing sometimes.
