Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Kings Island has only added slides when the Beach waterpark (across the street competition ) adds slides. They added a 4 lane mat racer this year.

 

The last time The Beach put in slides? 2004. Kings Islands last slide input? 2004.

Unfortunately, I think it's a waterpark addition. I was really hoping for a dark ride.

I'm more of a coaster person. With that being said, I'm sure it's great for the park......just not so much for me.

I'll most likely still prefer going to the Beach across the road instead despite what this is. The vast open area of concrete is very frustrating.

^ I've seen more people take the chicken exit for water slides than roller coasters! Especially those drop box slides . . .

With the same drop-box slide tower complex popping up around the entire chain (WOF, Dorney, KD, Carowinds) and doing very well in each of the parks, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same one here. I guess we'll find out in 10 minutes!

 

KI's water park needs something new. Although I'll probably never visit their Soak City again, it desperately needed new attractions (besides a wave pool) last time it got attention in 2012. I'd say this is a welcomed addition.

I was hoping it would be something unique to help justify stopping by the park again next season, but that's still a quality addition and I'm sure the majority of the park's customers will love it!

Is Soak City included with King's Island admission? I feel like I would like water parks a lot more if my local parks didn't charge separately for admission!

I never choose to buy water park tickets over the main park.
