^Abrupt changes of direction may affect roughness but there are still some rides that manage to have those while being smooth, such as BTR at SFGAdv which I rode last year and was silky smooth despite all those snappy parts such as the corkscrews.

I agree completely about Batman. I actually feel like B&M inverts seem to maintain their smoothness over time better than any other coaster type (except for Schwarzkopf loopers). I've never experienced a rough ride on a B&M invert, and I really haven't even noticed a rattle. Raptor is a little jerky (I still love it though, it's not enough to detract from the ride experience) but I think it always was, it's not due to age or anything it's just how the ride was designed.

I'm not sure what dictates smoothness but like you said B&M has built snappy, forceful coasters that are smooth as glass. Batman is a perfect example as are rides like Montu, Afterburn and Kumba.

It seems a lot of the recent Beemers go up the lift fast. Can't wait to ride it.

I find it odd that one of my local television stations did a story on this especially since Kings Island is not within their marketing area.

^ I know right? Being a displaced Clevelander, I had to do a double take to make sure that WKYC Channel 3 was reporting the information!

I think a lot has to do with train maintenance. I visited Mirabilandia in 2005 and they had 2 trains running on Katun that day. One train was quite shaky to a point where it started to affect rider comfort, while the other one was perfectly smooth.

That roar reminds me of Raptor at Cedar Point.....which is not a bad thing at all! Now, we can only hope it rides closer to how Raptor does versus some of their newer inverts that have gotten less than favorable reviews. That said, I'm loving the way this looks and I cannot wait to ride it one month from today!!

Recent B&M lift hills vary in speed depending on if the train ahead has cleared the block yet.

^ Hopefully some good forces too.

Any word on the 2014 park map yet?

It was supposed to come out today.......

Around April 1st I believe is when it is going to be released.

Don originally said April 1st, then he said it would be released on Twitter today (which doesn't appear to have happened as of yet).

It is on the website now if you know where to look. Perhaps a group of you could get together and find it. (Hint Hint) Appears to be some sort of tent/building going into the Action Zone circle.

I have the map with me! Part of it anyways, I cut off part of the Bat and most of the water park when I was editing. I WOULD show you, but I'll give you the details instead:

-Banshee looks more pink than purple (or whatever shade it is)

-There is a tent like building where the Action Zone Circle used to be

-Banshee looks to be the same size of Racer on the map, even though it's 79 feet taller in reality

-You want to find it? Here's a hint: iactodnue syda (scrambled letters)

[EDIT] This is MUY IMPORTANTE: DO NOT SHARE THE LINK ON THE WEBSITE OR THE MAP.
