bgeguy Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Sometimes I question BEC's relationship with B&M, but this is looking sweeeeeet.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I've had my doubts about this ride before but I'm taking most of it back now. Nice update and nice ride!
whakojacko Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 OMG nice update. Looking pretty nice now...
MixedDrink Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 This ride, is a babe. Not many rides make me want to go out of my way to ride them, but this one sure does. That in-line twist through the pretzel loop sounds awesome!
thunderguy345 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Looks awesome so far! The pretzel loop looks kinda small do you think so too?! Next year i'm going to Florida and it is so hard to wait for riding it. It will be a blast!
cobra_roll06 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I've had my doubts about this ride before but I'm taking most of it back now. Nice update and nice ride! Excatly. For some reason I have been assuming this ride is going to be similar to Air, but that update just opened my eyes! It looks fantastic! Can't wait to see more!
Spideyfreak Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Who's that guy in the red shirt on the last pic? Looks kinda like my science teacher a few years back.
DiSab Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Well, I'm now starting to doubt the doubts I had a few weeks ago. This ride is looking better and better each day. I am glad they added a fourth element into the layout - and an in-line twist through the pretzel will definitely be sweet. But I'm with everyone else - if the in-line wasn't mentioned in the 2-D layout, I wonder what else the ride will feature that hasn't been mentioned yet...? I guess you really can't judge the layout based on an overhead, 2-D model. Looking at the layout picture, you really can't tell the elevation difference. But now seeing the ride go up, and the support configuration, this is looking even better. The height difference between the supports on the helix between inversions 2 and 3 makes it look absolutely sick. I can't wait to see how it shapes up once the track is in place.
Speeddeamon128 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Nice report guys. Hopefully the ride will be open in June when I go to Orlando for my senior trip.
Ziggy Stardust Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I'm feeling much more comfortable with the ride than before.
sam06pr Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 hmmm...the lift is the same angle as the other flying coaster? I wonder if he knows how steep the others one are. maybe it does look like it is steeper but it is not
freddycoasterkid Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I think I just creamed myself! Thanks a million for the update!!
alpengeist04 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 hmmm...the lift is the same angle as the other flying coaster? I wonder if he knows how steep the others one are. maybe it does look like it is steeper but it is not You know what? Looking at some pictures of Superman at SFGadv., there doesn't appear to be much difference in angle. ...So perhaps he wasn't mistaken.
MixedDrink Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I don't believe the angles I see in pictures, because the angle the camera is at may affect the appearance of the lift.
mcjaco Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I don't believe you need to press the Enter key after a comma.

4rturo Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 hmmm...the lift is the same angle as the other flying coaster? I wonder if he knows how steep the others one are. maybe it does look like it is steeper but it is not I think it has been mentoned before, it's 45 degrees, same as Tatsu
Thelegendarymatthew Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Yeah I did notice some "Tatsu" feeling to the lift hill. I don't know why it did, but it just felt like they were re-making that part of Tatsu. -Matthew.K
KrakenKing Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 ^ ... because a flying coaster with a lift hill is copying Tatsu...
MixedDrink Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I don't believe you need to press the Enter key after a comma. Sorry! That's just how I write, in pretty much everything, excluding schoolwork. ^ ... because a flying coaster with a lift hill is copying Tatsu... I don't think that's what he means. If the lift hill seems separated in someway from Superman, but feels like Tatsu's lift, then it has a Tatsu vibe to it. Maybe it's some kind of background/height/angle thing?
BkkMan13 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Is it just me, or does Manta seem to have a similar layout to Superman. I think its really cool that theyre gonna have the ride go through an aquarium, I wonder what the fish are going to think about that .
DBru Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 ^What? Just because they both contain a curving drop and pretzel loop, I wouldn't call the layouts "similar"...at all... This thing is looking better and better everyday. The project as a whole is MUCH larger than I was expecting!
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I would have to second that the layout is similar to SUF, SO FAR Since the bulk of the ride at this point is the curving drop and the pretzel, it's going to draw similarities. I just don't see why that's a bad think. Though I have yet to ride a superman clone myself, most of the reviews I hear are that they're boring COMPARED to Tatsu or Air.
