RaceBoarder Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 When is opening weekend at Carowinds? Last year it was the last weekend in March, correct? Right now, I have time off scheduled of March 19-22... My plans for that weekend are based on the possibility of my alma-mater's hockey team making their conference tournament finals.. If that falls through, I'm wondering if Carowinds and Fury would be an option for that weekend...

_koppen Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I still think this ride is everything a B&M hyper should be, focus on overbanks and speed. I actually dare to predict that this will be the absolute best B&M hyper up until the tunnel. From there until the end it looks extremely mediocre.
nicman Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I am pretty sure they have the day off every Sunday:
jarmor Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 No one works on sunday in the south...except me! i wonder how much is gonna be down by next friday. Im almost guessing they will take a few days off for a christmas break...

drummermattk Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 maybe the 91 degree drop up by saturday?
ThemeParkJunkie51290 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Wow! They're not wasting any time on Fury! I can't wait until it's complete!
rcjp Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 ^It's interesting how soon that mess of dirt will be the entrance.
Wolfman_KL Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Anyone else having problems with the stream loading? I can see the still image fine... Regardless, they are moving right along today. Every new coaster construction site needs one of these!

El Toro_Ryan Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Sorry if anyone asked this already but is Fury 325 going to be silenced or is it going to have that vintage B&M roar?
tarheel1231 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 ^Probably. It's sad because Afterburn goes under the south gate entrance (kinda sorta) and it has the second loudest roar in the park.
Sharman19 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 ^I doubt they have sand in the track and supports, I am going to say that it will roar. Speaking of the roar, it'd better have the loudest B&M roar ever known!
rcjp Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 ^Nowadays most (or many) parks seem to go for the more "family friendly" sand in the track (even if it isn't to make it completely quiet) and not that many new B&Ms are "purely" loud. In fact, which of the newer B&Ms have a proper roar?
Sharman19 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I don't even know. As Robb said in the Kumba video, "They don't build them like they used to." Sorry about that, I just am too enthusiastic about B&M roars.
rcjp Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 ^I also love the B&M roar (a lot). I think it really adds to the experience. I think of it when I get near dragon khan and shambhala. DK is properly loud and shambhala, despite being much taller and faster, is much much quieter (because of sand). I'd really like to know how it would sound if the track was hollow. I've also wondered if there is something different about the way B&M makes their track now that makes their newer rides quieter. Maybe coasters also get louder with age. Either that or all new B&Ms built recently have some sand in their tracks and supports.
Sharman19 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 ^Speaking of things B&M doesn't do anymore, does it upset you any that they don't use pre-drops anymore?
