apanbl92 Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Does anyone have any info about the ''sphere'' coaster that is shown on the ''new'' badnitrus site Virtul Image Inc. http://www.3dvip.com/Portfolio/Portfolio2005.htm I have googled it and everything and anything about it.
Team Thriller Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I've never seen anything about like that. Go to RCDB.com and look. I would think maybe they would have some info over it. --James
ETapley0687 Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Never heard of it... Looks weird... but I'd still ride it and see how it is lol.
Hercules Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I've never seen anything about like that. Go to RCDB.com and look. I would think maybe they would have some info over it. --James Considering there is not one in operation and this was just made to show off a prototype, I don't believe that rcdb would have it up.
Team Thriller Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 ^ True, but I'm sure they'd have some sort of article on it or something. But your probably right. Sorry --James
Hercules Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 No big deal. It was just a prototype that, after a few years, nobody has jumped on board with or the manufacturer is trying to sell as we speak. I don't really see there being an article out there about it. * EDIT - I'm throwing around the word prototype like it means something. It is merely a concept that is trying to be sold, and there is no working prototype. The thing probably isn't really going too far and is probably just an idea.
ebl Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 This will be a new type of ride---a "coast and barf." Eric
PKI Jizzman Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 OMG, I found the real prototype...there's hundreds!!! O:!!!
Coasterlvr_nc Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 ^ haha! It probably never took off because it looks as if it would need to be heavily supported, way more than that concept image at least. Does anyone else think it looks as if it were designed to rotate like the space ring rides? cant remember their name right now.
christianscoasters Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 That would probably make everyone sick
sfotkid Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 ^ Since the loop is big, It woudlnt be as bad as you think
DBru Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Does anyone else think it looks as if it were designed to rotate like the space ring rides? That's EXACTLY what I was thinking! lol. Yeah, most of of were probably thinking that though... I haven't ridden one, but I've seen them. Are they fun?
pixelated Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 A POV of that would be most interesting... Hehe, it's rides like this when you think "What if TOGO made it?"
DBru Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 ^Hey, don't dis TOGO! lol. I LOVE their stand-up coasters...
JJboy100 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Hey im sorry PKI ManJZ but i'm going to have to let you down... That picture is just of a carnival ride. The concept of the sphere coaster was to have the coaster going around a circle like that, but that circle would be moving around in other directions too. Sorry about that man.
nannerdw Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 ^I'm sure PKI ManJZ was just being sarcastic If that were actually built, I think it would feel something like , only much larger and less painful.
the sound Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I haven't ridden one, but I've seen them. Are they fun? There pretty insane. I went on one when my suburb had a festival, and they were pretty crazy. However, they weren't as crazy as i expected.
thrillrideseeker Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 OMG!! Busch Gardens soooo needs to build this!! I would love to ride it Although It seems like it might pull really high G's... or is that just me? ~Matthew
Angry_Gumball Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 This reminds me of a supersized "Highroller" carnival ride. Would be great if they can pull it off, but I wouldn't really call this a coaster as it will have to be powered...maybe..
DBru Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Well, if the structures/rings spun, they may flip the train to the top, where it would fall by gravity, and then swing back and forth until it flips again or comes to a complete stop... Then it would be considered a coaster (I think?).
coolhandluke Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Of course it's a credit. It's just a full-circuit impulse or shuttle coaster.
sfmmrules! Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 WOW. Never seen that before. That looks like a coaster for the future! Looks fun though!
Hand 0f Time Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 That ride looks sick! But how would they load and unload passengers? that's probably a big problem.
