BeemerBoy Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20071115/wl_asia_afp/lifestyleaustraliachristmasoffbeat Are you effing kidding me??? Really? And it's not even in the US.
carolinacaniac Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 That's just stupid. It's not Santa if he doesn't say ho, ho ho. To many people get to easily offended over the littlest things
mcjaco Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Ho, Ho, Ho. If you don't like it, you can eat me.
cfc Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 A buddy of mine and I were kicking around a concept for a new "Christmas Village" decorating set called "A Skankville Christmas." Santa would, of course, be some pimp hanging out on a street corner with his scantily clad "elves"--Ho! Ho! Ho!
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 What the hell? Santa: "Ho! Ho! Ho!" Woman: "YOU SONOFABITCH!" *Slaps Santa* Santa: *under his breath* "Merry Christmas...bitch..." Seriously come on. This is just ridiculous! Political correctness sucks...
ginzo Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Fake controversy made up by bored reporters. Maybe it's time to dig up SARS or monkey pox again? MRSA is getting boring.
Disney Dood Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 More holiday PC-crap. Last year, the town next to me told their middle school to call a Christmas tree the "magic tree" and to say "have a swingin' holiday" instead of "merry Christmas". I don't get it.
Edward Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 I'm telling you, this world is going straight to hell... In a political basket. Actually, to some children, big dark booming voices can be frightening. Take it from me! I was also frightened of such. But now I find it cool, if spoken in the right way by the right man. Like Dragon Heart, or Yello (Jingle Bells song), or some old wise man (wizard, tree, rockbiter, etc). I wonder, if this gets out of hand, are they gonna dub every Christmas film so that the Santa says "Ha"? Or evil Santa of Futurama says "HARG, HARG, HAARRG!" Lets go with a protest! Everyone say "HO HO HO" as often as you can. They wouldn't fine/sue 90% of a country's population, would they? /Edward
BarryH Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 That reminds me, I got to get my Christmas tree, no wait, "family tree" at Home Depot.
bigjohnson51 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Wow I heard about this on the news today, and I couldn't believe it. Are little kids really offended by Ho, Ho, Ho! They don't even know what a ho is! This baffles me.
odene497 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Little Kid:"Mom!!!! That big red man said ho ho ho! He's refering to someone who sells their body for money!"
Airtime&Gravity Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 It wasn't Sydney, Australia, but rather Sidney, Nebraska. It was just a typo... This is just sad, yet funny, and I'm pretty sure no one is truly offended by Santa saying, "ho ho ho." Now if he just said "ho", then that would be different, but this just shows how politically correct society has become.
Pufferfish Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 This is completely sad. How far can political correctness go? I thought maybe this year would be better after all the complaining over wheter to say happy holiday, or merry christmas. What happened to the good old days where you would be able to put the line, "..and the black fish, she can sing..." into a catchy song that children love? Thank you Walt Disney
XII Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Wow, Australia is f*cked up. That's just sad. And if any australians are reading this, Ho, Ho, Ho
Wes Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Don't worry, Santa is now going to say "Slut, Slut, Slut".
bigjohnson51 Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 ^ Ha that's funny. That's exactly what I told my dad when I heard that story!
TheRapidsNerd Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 So Santa can't so Ho Ho Ho now because it MIGHT offend "ladies of the evening"? I'm surprised. You'd think, being all politically correct, that they wouldn't portray he exists in the first place, for fear of offending somebody. In fact, even celebrating the holiday is just sheer rebel madness! How can these champions of good sense and clear thinking LIVE with themselves?(can you smell the sarcasm?) Do they blow up! A 1! They implode!! Hahahahahaha!
ebl Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 You have to wonder just what goes on the minds of people who come up with this stuff... Never mind. I really don't want to know. Eric
itsme102 Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 I knew it was coming. I was surprised it took this long for "ho ho ho" to become PC. Very disappointing.
CoasterJunkie Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 To resurrect a month old topic...I found this today... http://www.snopes.com/politics/christmas/hohoho.asp
bigjohnson51 Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Ha well that is certinatly interesting. Makes sense too...
