ParkTrips Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 the photos tell the story I gotta say it didn't disappoint too much! The chili-sausage-spaghetti-o's taste was really weird, but I ate it!! But I don't recommend trying this at home Thanks for reading! and there is the final product. Now just for the taste test... While waiting, I figured I would enjoy a beer and some tv I think 30 mins in the oven will work Continue adding on pounds of cheese and it looks done! Time to bake! Add the last bit of lasagne on top and start to add the red sauce Throw the sausage on top and sprinkle on some more cheese.. The sausage looks ready to add! then add some cheese, another layer of pasta, the spaghetti-o's and some more cheese and another layer of lasagne... Next up, the layer of chili.. Time to start building the pasta. Note major mistake: I forgot to layer some sauce on the bottom of the pan the noodles are done! yeah, smash that meat It isn't Cooking with Joe without sausage there was a little too much water in the pot, so once I put the pasta in it was erupting like a water volcano or something. Great injury potential!! mmm lasagne Next up... lasagne! Yup, I'm making lasagne! Throw in some pasta sauce and I'm really busy! This is why my mom never wants me to cook. Yup... that's probably not coming out! .. and spaghetti o's!! Yes!! The magical slop known as Wolf Brand Chili, the best chili from a can ever! I believe this may be a CwJ first, canned goods! FU endangered fish! Like all cooking with Joe stories, this one starts with a walk over to my mom's place to use the kitchen. The only appliances my kitchen has is a fridge and a microwave =(
SharkTums Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 There are so many things wrong with this...I think every Italian on the planet just shuddered thinking that you would even call that slop 'lasagne'!!! Â Glad to have CwJ back though! Next time I expect at least a grease fire or two!
Scaparri Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Dude!!! You mixed chili, Spaghetti-O's, and pasta sauce together! That's like creating a suicide with Sprite, Yoohoo, and beer! Sure, they are all delicious by themselves and are in the same category, but that doesn't mean it should be done! Â Nevertheless, I'm intrigued and still awkwardly curious to try this stuff. Cool TR. The CwJ series tends to be one of the highlights of the offseason.
RaptorBoyASU Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I'm not sure your mom would be too happy with you using a metal utensil in a non-stick pan either...... Â LOL, not as good as the funnel cake, but still comedy gold.
thefitness Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 That's a bold combination! Â IMO, nothing in the world can make Spaghetti-O's appetizing.
DerekRx Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Nothing is more fun or wrong than Cooking with Joe. This needs to be a regular series, not just a quarterly special. Sure beats Cooking with Derek, all I made were Chicago Dogs.
mcjaco Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I say anything with chili and sausage is awesome. Oh and beer. Beer goes well with everything.
TheStig Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Joe is my hero. Seriously, if Im ever up that way again, you are making me food!
coaster05 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 CWJ is definately an amazing feature. I especially loved the burnt ring on the counter. Good luck with that.
ParkTrips Posted November 7, 2007 Author Posted November 7, 2007 I hope you guys understand how expensive cooking can be. These meals usually cost $25-30 which is crazy considering I don't generally keep leftovers! If only I could get the corporate funding from DaveTV...
niiicolaaah Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Lasagna with spaghetti-o's... now I've seen everything!! Â Joe's lasagna - spaghetti-o's - chili + ricotta cheese = real lasagna!
Carnage Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Bravo Joe!! Â Whenever you post CwJ I feel better about my own cooking. All of a sudden my setting the stove on fire while making tomato soup doesn't seem as bad.
Meteornotes Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 This is the most amazing thing ever. There was so much comedy here it could have easily been spread out over 100 CWJ PTRs. You deserve a beer. Â I would never, ever even thing about eating this, of course, as the ingredients terrified me, but it's the process that counts. And I'm sure your mom is really happy right now with that awesome new burn mark on her counter. She should be proud that her kitchen was part of another historic CWJ report. Â And Cooking With Joe totally has the prime spot on one night of the Dave Network, between Shark TV and Gators vs. Babies. Now if I could just get past the pesky laws that keeps stuff like this from being broadcast... Â dt
Wes Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 ^ I have another show for you. Celebrity Croc Fight. B-List celebrities battle it out with a crocodile. Just imagine Danny Bonoduci versus a very angry croc...
larrygator Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 CWJ scares me. Not as much as having to eat that slop. Â Yes Elissa, all Italians should be appalled, I certainly am.
Hattuchili Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Cooking with Joe is the best thing ever. I was laughing so loud after looking to your Photo-TR. I would not really call it Lasagne, but it looks interesting. Maybe I would also give it a try. I think nothing can be really worse then fried frog legs! Â --Soren
Moose Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Minus the spaghetti-o's, that is completely something i would make. I often make chilli pasta. And sausage is the love. Â Â Â I want my, i want my, i want my DaveTV.
ginzo Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I hope you guys understand how expensive cooking can be. These meals usually cost $25-30 which is crazy considering I don't generally keep leftovers! If only I could get the corporate funding from DaveTV... Â Maybe you could cut costs by mixing in some dog food next time. I hear that's cheap.
Meteornotes Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I want my, i want my, i want my DaveTV. Â This made me laugh... Â dt

Your solution to the expense problem is in boldface.

Your solution to the expense problem is in boldface.  Yeah, but it sounds like he can barely eat his own creations when they're freshly made. Imagine trying to eat that stuff 3 days later.

These meals usually cost $25-30 which is crazy considering I don't generally keep leftovers! If only I could get the corporate funding from DaveTV... Â First of all, nice work, Joe. Would I eat it? Hell no. Is this always entertaining? Hells yes! It's nice to know that DaveTv has greenlighted the series. As far as sponsorships go, may I suggest Beverly? It's a natural beverage companion for CWJ. Â Before we know it, there'll be a CWJ restaurant at CityWalk, and frozen "CWJ" dinners in your grocer's freezer.
ParkTrips Posted November 7, 2007 Author Posted November 7, 2007 The sausage/beef/brisket sandwich was saved and the second portion was just as good as the original! Â I just don't do leftovers as a general rule. I'm sure the world's starving children would like to see me dead.
TheRapidsNerd Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Dude, you are a brave soul and an artist. I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!
