jps294
From people I hear is that each park is suppose to do 1 coaster! So here is the parks that already put the coaster in it and the parks that are rumored to do it! KEY: CONFIRMED, so don't expect another coaster going out! RUMORED Six Flags Discovery Kingdom = Pandemonium Six Flags Magic Mountain = Deja Vu Six Flags Over Georgia Six Flags Great America = Iron Wolf Six Flags America = Batwing Six Flags New England = Flashback Six Flags St. Louis Six Flags Great Adventure = Bizzaro Six Flags Great Escape Six Flags Fiesta Texas = Poltergeist Six Flags Over Texas Six Flags La Ronde Six Flags Mexico Since I am a Fiesta Texas fan, but if the rumors are true than I believe that Poltergeist will be leaving (if it was chosen)! Six Flags New England might remove Flashback for the rotation, maybe Batwing at SFA, and I don't know about the others!
vacoaster09
I just going to go one a whim... remember the rides that didn't make out of AstroWorld ... I'm talking about Batman and Ultra Twister... UT suffered because it was damaged when it was taken down... but even that ride I feel would've given the GP something to be happy about (being that it was unique and different) and given some kind of boost at SFA (might be hard to believe but I just believe that it would) on the same token, Say Six Flags didn't send Batman (standup) to Darien Lake and instead sent it to SFA... I feel like it would have the same positive boost that I anticipate Apocalypse will have at SFA. Sad that both rides are now just scrap. My point is, in todays market, and in the Maryland, D.C., and Viriginia market in general, GP is spoiled and they love new rides and will flock to it. Its about perception of the GP vs. a small percentage of park goers like us coasters fans. I just believe that the "newness factor" is relative. I still think about Dominator and Kings Dominion and people love it .... you hardly would ever hear anyone talk about how it used to be owned by Six Flags or any mention of Geagua lake. Also, I don't think the rotation program is couterproductive unless you took out the the top 3 star attractions. Just personal opinion but I don't think that a park like Great Adventure would ever factor or believe that someone would refuse to get a season pass because Bizarro is gone (especially if they replace it with a wing rider or new coaster).... But even if it's not immediately replaced I'd still get a pass and frequent the park for Toro, KK, and Nitro, GL among the others.
noregrets
Just a note, The Great Escape is not currently flagged but may be easing into it, they have a recently redesigned logo using the six flags font so they may be a beneficiary of a new coaster. Alpine Bobsleds is constantly rumored to be removed, but that spot is pretty small and the park’s rugged terrain seemingly leaves very few large plots of flat land for something as big as Bizarro. But if some other smaller coaster joins the program, I can see it going to TGE as part of a flagging (since they haven’t gotten a large coaster in over a decade). I couldn't see SFFT giving up Poltergeist. We need to factor another six flags trend which has be Retrofitting rides and marketing them as new! So in being fairly sure that Rattler will get the New Texas Giant Treatment, I think SFFT is safe from loosing a ride. I think that some parks will be donors in exchange for a new ride and some parks will simply be recipients. ^I have also heard the story of Apline Bobs rumored to be going out... also keep in mind that the wild mouse at SFNE was supposed to go to TGE... But things changed. They could just get something new! La Ronde has two inverted coasters... They just got Ednor (but I wouldn't forgive SF if they took out a B&M for a Vekoma) but maybe they'd get rid of Cobra? Cobra to TGE?
jps294
Lets just say for right now that Batwing, Bizarro, Poltergeist, and Flashback all was removed this year for the 2013 season! And if I would have to choose the park they go to then here is my list! Batwing moves to SFOT for the first flying coaster in Texas! Bizzaro moves to SFStL for the first floorless coaster in the Mid-West! Flashback moves to SFA, so that they will have a new coaster and have it located in TwoFace spot so no empty spots! Poltergeist moves to SFMM in Log Jammers spot. The reason is that people say premier was in the park and Poltergeist is a Premier Coaster and people say that SFMM will be getting a launch coaster and here you go! Another reason is that fans will be happy for another coaster and other fans in the world will be happy that the park didn't get another brand new coaster like always! lol
RideofSteel
I doubt that Six Flags would save Flashback. It's problematic and very old. (It opened at it's original park in 1985.)
dylanreich
^^While I would love to see Poltergeist at SFMM (it *is* my home park...), I am placing my bets on the rumors of a 2013 record-breaking launched coaster in that spot. If I remember correctly, I read rumor mixed with speculation that the ride would "change the park's skyline" and might possibly stretch from Dejavu's old spot to Log Jammer's old spot and back. Hanging out on a limb here, I know.
Synshine
Flashback moves to SFA, so that they will have a new coaster and have it located in TwoFace spot so no empty spots! I'm sorry, but that is bonkers. They're not going to be giving up a larger ride, to replace it with it with something not only smaller, but an older version of a ride they already got rid of years ago, because that is the definition of crazy. molemaster43
I read on Screamscape that SFSL's The Boss may be revamped and rehabbed. It is not supposed to go Rocky Mountain on us, but it may get a GCI treatment and get Millennium Flyers.
deathbydinn
I really think people are blowing this "ride rotation" thing out of proportion. Remember, when it first happened, new rides where bought and then only spent 2-3 years in a park before moving to a new one. Unless Goliath, Apocalypse, and Big Spin all move again in 2015, I don't think its really back. I think it's just the new management recognizing that some rides could do better elsewhere, something that the old management wasn't great at. What does Leviathan's success have to do with Six Flags? As of right now, there are no Giga coasters currently in or being built anywhere other than Cedar Fair parks, so what makes you think Six Flags would rely on the success of Leviathan to add one? X2coasterfreak
^Do you mean a dive machine and some sort of Intamin at the same time? How will the park ever have the money to pay for both? Those would be some expensive purchases. I think MM will put in one of those two possibilities, hopefully the Intamin. By the way, I think the CoasterGuy reported that in Deja Vu's spot the newly relocated employee cafeteria would go there, because of Lex Luther taking its current spot. AnonymousReed
I can see a Premier in the future for SFMM in Vu's place and an Intamin Terrain Coaster(With Water Effects) where Jammer was. SoCalCoasters
To pull the train of thought away from SFMM station for a moment... Does that supposed agreement that Busch had with B&M about building Dive Machines in the US include the smaller models like G5, Oblivion, and more recently Krake? I would really like a few more of these stateside, as they are fantastic rides.
Commando
SFMM fanboys post the most ridiculous things. Honestly SFMM already has a ton of coasters. If Six Flags is smart and wants to make money they will be improving their other parks to increase their attendance. That's why they are adding X Flight to SFGAm and S:UF to SFDK. Your going to see major coasters going to other parks besides SFMM and SFGAd. Also keep in mind the Six Flags has never been big on building Intamin coasters compared to B&Ms. Also they are real tight in cash and aren't going to spend $25mil on one park. That's exactly what Cedar Fair has been doing the lat few years and the best business decision. I know its the crazy idea thread but at least use some logic. On the topic of aquatrax I have always wished that more of those where built.
jzoole
Poltergeist leaving SFFT for SFMM? A B&M Dive Machine and an Intamin Giga being built at SFMM in the same year?? A thirty-year-old busted Vekoma boomerang leaving SFNE for a park that has already removed a more updated version of the same model??? My head is about to explode! These ride-rotation rumors have gotten seriously out of hand. Firstly, a lot of the recent coaster relocations have not been the result of any kind of RRP, but have resulted from the closure of various SF properties (Green Lantern, GCG, Ednor, etc.) Also, it makes perfect sense that when SF builds large new attractions in the Big 4 parks, and have to remove older or less popular attractions to make room for them, that they would recycle the rides by moving them to smaller parks as new attractions in markets where they would seem like something new and exciting. But it wouldn't make any kind of sense for Poltergeist (as an example), which is one of the more popular attractions at SFFT, to be relocated to SFMM, where it would seem like a tiny and insignificant addition by comparison to the other coasters at that park. And as for this alleged list of one coaster from every park to be donated to the ride rotation program, where did this rumor come from? Beacuse I have only seen this "list" mentioned on TPR. By teenagers. Not trying to be condescending, but I just want to know what the source for this is.
