UrbanLegend Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I, for one, appreciate the fact that the video doesn't use the same tired symphonic metal that every simulated coaster POV in the world feels compelled to have.
chadster Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Note: The same people that did the virtual POV for Wild Eagle have done this one, and it's pretty amazing. The more you know.
A.J. Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I, for one, appreciate the fact that the video doesn't use the same tired symphonic metal that every simulated coaster POV in the world feels compelled to have. Don't forget the trippy techno music that accompanies on-ride videos of coasters and flats (be it simulated or real) in Europe...
Sir Clinksalot Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 This looks absolutely amazing. Other than the lift is there any straight track on this thing!!!
chadster Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 ^Not really! Super happy you guys are enjoying the photos!!
LawlessBagel Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Just like Texas Giant last year, this is my most anticipated ride of 2013. I'd have to agree for now but with you but that could change as the Rattler transforms. I will say it's my most anticipated ride of 2013 that i will actually ride next year, but Gatekeeper and whatever Alton Towers builds are a close 2nd and 3rd. I'm worried Gatekeeper will be forceless thought.
Jhcbiinoc Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Those photos are great! This seriously looks to be as if it will be one of the most talked about new coasters of 2013. The three coasters I would love to be able to hit next year, as far as new coasters are: 1. Gatekeeper 2. Outlaw Run 3. Iron Rattler I'm also hoping that Outlaw Run turns out as good as I believe it will. I'd love to see Herschend add something like this at Dollywood in a few years.
robbalvey Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 Complete ride video has been released!
A.J. Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Of course, they decide to cut the POV to an offride shot just as you're about to go through the top of the inverted camel toe... Those sneaky editors! I like the RollerCoaster Tycoon sound effects.
cfc Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I like how it just whips past the trees in some segments. It's great when a park maintains as much of the natural landscape as possible.
ernierocker Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 The trees will really add a lot to the ride! Can't wait to see some testing POVs!
DougMJr Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I know the images and the POV doesn't do this ride justice. I know I'm going to be blown away when I see it in person!
ytterbiumanalyst Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 The POV we've been waiting for! I can't wait to see those trees in person!
mightypotato Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I don't think I've been as excited for a new ride as I am for Outlaw Run. This looks fantastic.
RoCo Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Co-workers can overhear me making noises while looking at these pictures and they are assuming I'm watching porn. They are correct, in ways they do not understand. Chadster, you are a demi-god for bringing us these updates. Dude! Are you hittin' it to coaster porn at work? Even I don't stoop that low. Much. I tossed my dignity out the window a LONG time ago. This POV is bonkers. Are we looking at the best ending to a roller coaster ever created?
Shavethewhales Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I think the POV, just like the concept art, really doesn't even come close to giving the proper jaw-dropping impression of this coaster that you get from seeing it in person. To me,the POV makes it seem a bit shorter and less twisted than it is IRL. You never can expect too much from concept art, but with this ride especially the real product is so twisted and follows the terrain so well that it's incredibly difficult to portray with artwork. The rolling drop is so sweet though. It's hard to pick a favorite part of this coaster, but that little element sure gets overlooked with all the crazy inversions, overbanks, and whatever the hell that wave turn is.
ProwlerPrey Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Outlaw Run was already by far my most anticipated ride for 2013..... And then this video came out.
mike_kelly Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 At a 1:30 it's gonna be klind of a short ride. But you know the ride on El Toro is last than :15 longer. Should be fun, just heard a rumor that first rides are being given away to members for Herschend family and a guest. No fun, would have been a good way to help a chidrens charity.
coasterfreak101 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 They can still auction off a public train. It's not like the 'first riders' in any auction are actually the first riders - mechanics, higher-up personnel, and I would think the guys from whichever design firm did the ride at the least have all ridden it before anyone in the public ever takes a seat.
chadster Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 ^You would be correct. Tradition with Herschend is that Mr. Herschend gets his choice of either train for the first ride of humans. Then others follow suit including employees 2013 Season passes are now on sale.... www.bransonsilverdollarcity.com/tickets/seasonpasses.aspx?track=SDCMPOFFERS
almightyfire Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 It was too short as I expected once I saw the Pictures. It looks exciting but the ride isnt lenghty enough for me to fly there. DARN!
chadster Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 ^The actual ride length is 1:27 as listed on the ride fact sheet. The video is not 1:27.
