^I just looked at the live cam, it's a sad sight. There's almsot no one on the mid-way and all the coasters appear closed. I feel bad for anyone who traveled a distance to go today

Wow, of all the coasters I expected to open today I never would have guessed Gatekeeper. I guess the wind must have died way down because it's running with riders.

yeah I remember the one time I went we thought that would depress the crowds but it didn't the place was still packed. I give CP credit for getting rides up as soon as possible after a weather delay.

This weekend would have been a horrible time to visit as it rained relentlessly here for most of the day.

Went to Erie to see Jurassic World yesterday and while the rain let off for a little while, you could see black clouds over Lake Erie for most of the day. Not a good weekend for park visits in the Northeast in general.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already, but I was in line for Raptor yesterday and an interesting trivia question came up on the screens in the line. It was "What type of ride will Cedar Point open for the 2017 season?" The choices were roller coaster, thrill ride, water ride, and none of the above...with the answer being none of the above. Also, one of the "clues" that popped up was "it won't be a high roller."

Except that next season is 2016 and I'm pretty sure the answer to that question is "Did you really think we'd tell you?" Those PR people at Cedar Point are such trolls sometimes.

That would make sense if they are installing the much rumored dive coaster in 2016.

CP has almost always been about adding a major attraction every other year so perhaps 2017 will be more upgrades to the overall park experience, midway kiddie area revamp, more work on the lodging, or focus on Soak City.

Or it could be that rumored dark ride above the arcade!

Griffin (2x) - If Inverts are my favorite design from B&M than Dive Machines are a close second. I've been on both Shiekra and Griffin now and I can say both as amazing. I don't understand how some see this as a gimmick coaster because this thing delivers every time. I do not get tired of that holding brake before the first drop cause it just adds to the experience. These rides are intense and forceful so A+ in my book. I also love how Griffin weaves in an out of France. Flying under that bridge after the first drop is breathtaking. 10/10

For those who are still complaining/Unsure of the Dive Machine concept. (From the BGW Thread.)

What do you give a park that has "almost" every thing when it comes to roller coasters?

One of three coasters of that type in the United states, with I am assuming, its own unique layout not found yet.

Iron Dragom update: I've seen maintenance on Iron Dragon nearly every day working on it. But today I saw them lowering a new chain onto the ride. So hopefully we'll have it up and running soon!

In other news two more rides were put up on the wall!

What's been the rate of rides being put up on the wall? Can we assume how many days until a possible announcement using that number and the number of coasters left (4)?

I think it's been every 10 days or so. I wasn't counting, but they did start with two and have been adding 2 at a time each time.

I love Cedar Point's maintenance team. With the exception of opening weekend every single year for some reason they're ridiculously efficient.

So doing some basic math, its about 1.2 per day, and it has been a pattern of "2 off 2 2 off off 2 2 off 2", so then tomorrow would be 2 more, then two days off, then the final two, then one day off, then the announcement. Which would put the possible announcement on Tuesday of next week.

No... It's more like two more every week or 10 days. We still have four or five more, depending on the Pipe Scream situation. We also don't know if the official announcement will come immediately. I'd say three weeks at the soonest for an announcement date.

Sorry, I keep reading "these rides are intense and forceful" over and over again, I think something in my brain broke. I hope everyone is aware the airtime you feel on the first drop is plain old weightlessness, which is in fact lack of force.

Completely misread the post I got my information from, I thought it was 10 days total. My bad.

This has been a great way to build anticipation. If it is a dive coaster and it is taller than 200 ft and/or has a 200 ft drop would it be a hyper coaster? I was in the camp that that would go for the 500 foot record but they don't have the space based on what they are tore down or moved.

SheiKra and Griffon both pull 4G's... that's not really a lack of force. That's actually a decent amount of g-force. And we know Cedar Point wouldn't build anything less than what those two do.
