Reading this thread gives me such a good laugh. After pages of people complaining about how cedar point isn't innovative anymore I come on here to see that todays complaint that valravn should of had a splash down like the other 2 dive coasters in the US

On top of the track being massive, when i visited the park back in september and they had the track out on the midway, i went over to check it out. I was amazed at how damn massive the brake was on the track (least thats what i think it was,)

I wanted a photo with the track but my friend was an ass and wouldnt take my picture

^ It amazes me as to how massive everything is with a Dive Machine!! They really are massive coasters!!!

I wonder if they are going to do any kind of train reveal like they did with Rougarou's train?

Reveal? The rendering is online, and I'm sure photos will be too.

Okay, maybe "reveal" was the wrong word. I am wondering if they are going to have a train on display this winter for people to take pictures of, and with like the did with Rougarou, and Fury.

I've always said I wish there was a way when posting to choose "opinions" or "facts/news". Then I'd pray for there to be an option of turning off ALL opinions.

In my opinion it is best to let other people have their opinions and not ridicule them for it.

You must be new to this thread...

More like "you must be new to the Internet".

Wouldn't work. Too few people can distinguish fact from opinion.

Looking for someone to go on a construction tour of ValRavn - TOMORROW morning. Need to be able to take decent pictures and willing to write a report on the forum. If you're interested, let me know ASAP! Email robbalvey@themeparkreview.com

Oh darn... Would love to if I didn't have to work... Bummer!

This thing is looking huge!

I wish we could have seen this ride with no MCBR, and 2 or 3 more big elements instead of the lower second half.

Posted

^I'd rather have the ride as is than cut the capacity in half.

It's already got more elements than any other dive coaster, and you already have Gatekeeper to do the exact same maneuvers that Valravn would even be capable of (with the wide trains you can't have anything snappy).

Sure, I'd love the first half to have maybe one more element, but the ride was designed as it is for a reason. And I think it looks like on hell of a dive coaster.

Any thoughts on how they are going to bridge the gap between the new support and the existing track?

It looks like the two pieces that they assembled previously are not long enough to bridge the gap. I am guessing the following sequence:

1) Use orange/yellow crane located under the new immelmann support to lift a new piece of track and attach it to the new support.

2) Use the same crane and rigging to support he unstable support and track assembly

3) Disconnect current yellow crane supporting the immelmann support and use it the lift the 2 piece assembly to bridge the gap.

I know B&M has very detailed assembly sequences and that they know what they are doing, I am just trying to figure it out on my lunch break.

I would imagine that it will be a similar process to the way they did the top of the lift. I would think they would lift the top of the Immelman, connect that two-piece segment and hold it with the crane while they lift the support-connecting piece which connects to those two pieces.

The ride was designed just like every other coaster was designed under Kinzel+Ouimet

Build the coaster a little bit bigger than its predeccesors and add an element or two and the people will come.

Rather a very successful business model.

That makes a helluva lot more sense than the convoluted method I was thinking.

Thanks!

It seems like most B&M's almost never use both course blocks at once, and the ones without MCBR's get along fine (like the gigas, which have huge capacity, don't they?). So I wonder just how it works, putting in a MCBR or not, that would be some neat insight.
