CaptainUnknown Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Just a thought here, but when we get our B&M invert, I'm thinking it should have an immelman, vertical loop around the lift 1-2 punch that Banshee has. But only if it has at least 5 inversions. Can't have a 3 or 4-inverter with 2 of them immediately for pacing reasons.
GCI Wooden Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I can see them adding a small woodie like HR if they can afford it. No, if they got a wooden coaster, I would expect something like Little Dipper at Little Amerricka. Como is mainly a park for young children.
Lightning9SX Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Interesting, they are adding local bands on the weekends. I will definitely be at the park to see a few of them. https://www.valleyfair.com/what-s-new/valleyfair-live

Talon one of the most forceful inverts around with low to the ground elements goes right to a vertical loop to a zero g roll then an Immelman and after that you still get great pacing.

VF15 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) The splash pad is looking pretty wimpy . Looks like something you'd find at a small city waterpark. The new path near the waterpark looks a lot nicer than the old asphalt path. Pictures from Dave Frazier. Edited April 10, 2015 by VF15
RCjunkie Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 The splash pad is looking pretty wimpy . Looks like something you'd find at a small city waterpark. At least it is better than the old splash pad. But I agree, pretty wimpy considering there are a bunch of suburb cities within 20-30 minutes of this park that have much better splash pad area's. Did they not research their competition? How can you spend millions on a what looks like to be some kick-a** water slides and then skimp on the splash pad? Seriously, what would have it cost to make that splash pad better and compare to other splash pads in the area? $50,000? $100,000 maybe? It is examples like this that make me say that CF treats VF like a red headed step child when it comes to investing in the park. At least it looks like the money they saved on the splash pad they are using for general improvements all over the park which is looking nice.
grsupercity Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Here is a sample of the SLC from CW fitting into VF
VF15 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 ^ What makes you think that Cedar Fair would relocate Flight Deck to Valleyfair?
Snowyowl1028 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Here is a sample of the SLC from CW fitting into VF Oh hell no.
danderson83 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Here is a sample of the SLC from CW fitting into VF No, Not a SLC. VF needs a B&M!!
MagnumFreak25 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 There is really no chance of them relocating that. They'll probably just crap it given that they are trying to make Valleyfair better.
Snowyowl1028 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 We already have a headbanger (corkscrew) and a jerker (excalibur). We do not need this it doesn't fit our line up.

grsupercity Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 CW was supposed to get a B&M invert when they got flight deck. Cedar Point and B&M had an agreement that B&M coudlnt build an invert within 250 Miles of Cedar Point. Now since Cedar Point owns CW I picture a B&M invert going in there instead of an SLC. Just my .02
Snowyowl1028 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 ^I agree, but I think they won't relocate their SLC, they will just turn it to scrap. Just my opinion, but I could be wrong. I heard that ride always has a short queue at CW, so I think CF probably knows it won't be successful at a park like ValleyFair because we have many better rides than an SLC, but with the MiA relocation it could possibly be the second most popular coaster there so it would be successful there.
ariznglori Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I'm just giddy about the new brick path. It looks gorgeous! And the splash pad looks like the same one they're putting in Kings Dominion. It's not a "skimp on Valleyfair" thing so much as a "skimp on splash pads chainwide" thing. And it's still an upgrade to what we have.

Just my .02 Flight Deck is 20 years old. At that point, is it really worth relocating? Also, the place where you put it wouldn't work because that's where Dinosaurs Alive is, which isn't supposed to leave for a while. Edited May 3, 2016 by VF15
ariznglori Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 With Dinos remaining until 2019-2020, a new coaster in that spot is...Not probable? But I just don't see Valleyfair waiting that long.
Snowyowl1028 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 A coaster in 2016 and another in 2020. The 2016 coaster could go in one of our discussed places, and the 2020 coaster in DA. SV and Renegade were four years apart so this isn't far fetched.
garyman6 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Lèts not be too down on the new splash pad. VF wants a water park that appeals to everyone in the family. If i was a betting man I'd say the old splash station only has another year or two. That area would be a great spot for an huge jungle jim with lots of features. Its the same thought when we all asked why VF is adding more speed slides when they already had two. My prediction is that entire old slide complex will be replaced with something entirely new in 2 to 3 years.
Mdcastle Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Waste of money to build something lame... Look at any non Cedar-Fair park for what a decent family water play area looks like.

I think the problem everyone has with the splash pad is that it's very small and unimpressive compared to most children's play areas out there. When the play areas at small city-owned waterparks are better than the ones at chain parks owned by a large corporation, that's borderline embarrassing. Canada's Wonderland, Kings Dominion, and Worlds of Fun are also getting similar splash pads, so at least it's not just Valleyfair that got the bad end of the deal.

Agreed, although it's worth noting that WOF already has Captain Kidds (a medium-sized, themed kids structure) and Paradise Falls (a modern, full-sized play/spray structure). King's Dominion has Soak City Splash House (full-sized structure) and Canada's Wonderland has a close to full-sized play structure.

Splash Pads are not Water Play Structures and are for the Smallest Guests. I would imagine they would install a Water Play Structure for the bigger kids in the Future. There's not one little kid or parent that's going to whine and moan about the Splash Pad, cause the kids and parents are going to love it!
