thomas2 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 That giant frisbee also looks great. It's good to see that China is in a coaster-boom. More trips to there?
obeygiant Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 WOW! The themeing is out of this world...We have things like that in the US..right?
GAcoaster Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 The problem with theme elements like that here in the US is lack of cheap labor to build them combined with government regulations (like requiring vehicular access to all parts of a ride in case it has to be evacuated). Â The park looks really impressive all around, though it seems to be mostly off the shelf rides (SUF clone, Kumali clone, Disk-o, Giant Frisbee, etc.) with elaborate scenery.
socalMAN123 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 ... Â That is amazing! I don't really care if it is a clone, it looks awesome! I should make my way over to China sometime. ---Brent
Erik Johnson Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 I'm not a big fan of the flying coasters, but this one looks really nice. Here's to hoping I can get a visa sometime soon to go there! Oh, and Erik, is that the SAME jean jacket you're still wearing to this day!?  LOL! Nope, that is my ultra-cool flannel jacket that I have. Yes I still have that one as well.
stormrider Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 "What about Disney and what not" Â What about a park that isn't movie/TV related that has good theming in America? It's refreshing to see a park that has good theming that isn't based on some other franchise. Though it might take more money to come up with a new custom made theme instead of having monetary support from the franchises. Â Also, if anybody has every played the Gamecube game called the Windwaker (yes, I'm just a kid ) there's a level that looks just like this theming, an old, weathered fortress. I forget what it was called, though.
Ryan King Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 *Craps His Pants* Â Wow...I...Am Speechless..I wanna Pound It ALL over that Mountain!
viking86 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 More pictures of this amazing park aswell as a few other Chinese parks http://www.coasterclub.org/gallery/index.php?cat=18 Â http://www.coasterclub.org/gallery/displayimage.php?album=117&pos=14
BeemerBoy Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Wow. Simply, wow. First Black Mamba, and now this! Note to any US park thinking of adding another beemer......take the time and money to intricately theme it. Imigine if IOA had the vision (they obviously had the cash) to continue the theming past the queue line.
ECZenith Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Well, Dragons does have the awesomely themed trains, lagoon below, and interacts with the castle queue several times, so it's not too bad as it is.
BeemerBoy Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 No, you're right. It's not that bad at all. But seeing those pics makes me think of how crazy it really could have been. But I'm not complaining...it still rocks!
thomas2 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 How good can you theme a coaster anyway! This place looks amazing. Every detail you can imagine is there. It's truely a Happy Valley
Jon Sabo Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 After browsing through the rest of the photo's supplied by the earlier link, I would have a hard time deciding which park is better in terms of theming (this or IOA?). Â I would give the edge to this park over IOA simply because it is almost beyond words (from the pics supplied). The attention to detail almost looks as if it was a 3D image of the RCT games and submitted in a contest. By no means am I referring to it as a 'cheesy' video game, just that it really is almost surreal in how the actual theming came to fruition. Â I absolutely love the creativity and arcitecture put into the park and quite possibly spend an entire day just admiring the attention to detail (the second day spent for rides-of course).
ECZenith Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 ^ I agree, well said. The theming looks awesome, especially Crystal Wings fotress structure, but it's funny how they'd just plop a Disko'O right there in front of it. Â What are the names of the other coasters/flat rides in the two Happy Valley parks?
Jon Sabo Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 The link supplied in regards to the themepark in in Chinese. Anyone seen or know how to make it into an English-language? The site appears somewhat difficult to browse through, but I would be interested in finding more photos and information (ride names, etc) about the park.
BeemerBoy Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 How good can you theme a coaster anyway! Â *cough* Everest *cough*
speedracer Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Well, Dragons does have the awesomely themed trains, lagoon below, and interacts with the castle queue several times, so it's not too bad as it is.  Yeah, but this was originally Disney's idea for DAK, which would have been so much more submersive and themed, with most of the ride indoors dueling a 30ft fire breathing dragon!:  http://www.mouseplanet.com/mark/mg041027.htm  While Disney's existing coasters are indeed well themed, I've waiting for them to push the envelope with something other than a sit down mine train type coaster. A invert or flyer flying through a completely themed environment like Dragon Tower or Crystal Wings is something yet to be done stateside. And would be so much more effective and amazing than just another well themed sit down family coaster like EE.
dr.gumbo Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 ^^ It'll be rough then if its a coaster because they only use vekoma (unless its made by intimen but it will still be rubbish) Â I could be wrong (I hope)
stormrider Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 That could be the British way of spelling it though Just kidding. They have made a few Intamin rides, there's California screamin' and those Indiana Jones rides in Asia, but California screamin' doesn't seem to have that mystical castle look to it
Corkscrewed Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 wow, amazing what a little bit of theming can do even for a generic clone! Â Imagine if they did a remodel job for like... X.
jarmor Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 hummm... How did that manage to get thrown into the mix!
Chadley Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 The only thing I can see I don't like about this park is the tackiness of the Disko. If they could eliminate the sign and do a custom paint job on it it would be great. Â As for the park as a whole...Oh My God!! The only other thing I could think was that this looks like Roller Coaster Tycoon come to life! Incredible looking.
Screamomatic Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 The Disk-O is part of diffrent themed section...
