The Six Flags Magic Mountain (SFMM) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I went yesterday to get my Diamond Pass and they did not have them. I was told to come back in 3 weeks to pick up. So here I have this pass that I bought on line and could not use the benefits it offers, nor get the bottle or lanyard. So now I have to go back when Spring break is going on and having to deal with the idiot kids.

I got in a few rides before I got sick. First ride was FT and I noticed this lady in a wheel chair with 2 teens and they were telling her to get on, she didn't want to. Well after a few thoughts, she got on and sat right behind me. Well from the time we launched she was screaming I'M DYING, I'M DYING! Then at reverse launch and forward shot out of the tunnel, her screams were louder. We crested the top of the loop and hit the brakes. Now she is screaming for a Medic (I NEED A MEDIC, I NEED A MEDIC). I grabbed my hat and keys from the box and left. I didn't want to stay for that drama.

Park was nice rides looking decent. Noticed The Classic Revy trains looking a little tired and beat up! I seen two kids taggin on the back of seat when I was waiting. I yelled at them (WHAT THE F*&*! WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT?) People looked at me and an employee came over and I showed her. Well the opened the lap bars and they got escorted out!

Hoping to be out in a few weeks to pick up my Diamond Pass. Hopefully I could met up with some fellow TPR peep's, If you don't mind an loud outspoken guy?

^Good on you for speaking up and getting employees involved. If people actually get caught tagging they just get thrown out by security for the most part now.

Also, Twisted Colossus is back up, so for those of you planning on going today or this weekend have fun!

That’s great to hear that Twisted Colossus is back up! I’m a little bummed since I went yesterday and missed it by just a day, but oh well, the park was absolutely dead so that makes up for the loss.

Awesome! I despise people who vandalize property, such disgusting and repugnant behavior. Well done!

Nothing is wrong, it's minor track work, but expect some downtime in the next week or so

Just because I'm curious. . . Do you have actual proof of this, or are you just guessing???

Not trying to be an A$$, just wondering how you came to this conclusion.

I only ask, because I think this is the first I've hear of an iBox coaster needing track work...?

Sorry for not responding sooner. Twisted's open again as per the other poster. There are a ton of new AXIS surveillance cameras being added to the park in many areas. Look around the station ceilings when you're there. On the same note, the Wifi is being upgraded and expanded woot woot

Regarding the intermittent track work that was done on Twisted Colossus earlier this week, does anyone know if it will be continued next week? I am visiting the park for the first time this coming Wednesday and I am a bit worried that the park is going to continue doing track work during the week and then have TC open for Friday through Sunday. If anyone has any insight on this I'd appreciate it.

I was at the park about a week ago, and noticed that the RV Parking lot had been converted to "Preferred Parking". I'm sure this is just temporary, until they finish installing the solar panels. Once summer rolls around, they'll need to dedicate those spaces to RVs again.

I saw Corey Feldman at the park on Thursday about an hour before park close. I was in line for revolution, walk on, front row and I guess I got in line right before him. He had a huge dude (bodyguard I assume) with him and one other young guy. I didn't realize he was right behind me in line or I probably would have given him front row, instead of waiting he rode right behind me. He was wearing a White baseball cap that said Faith on it.

Didn't realize it was him till a girl squeeled and hugged him after the ride and then I looked. Saw him again on the summit walking towards Superman and gave him a knowing whats up and told the other dudes that just walked by that it was Corey Feldman.

First time I seen a celebrity at an amusement park.

Still referring to Corey Feldman as a celebrity is being generous

So did SFMM finally come to their senses and completely ditch VR on Revolution? They announced last year's VR at the beginning of February, but there doesn't seem to be any signs that it's returning this year. The sign on the station also says, "Classic Revolution" now.

I thought it was fun to experience once or twice, but it wasn't worth the 90-minute wait when other rides had 20-30 minute waits.

What do you guys think?

I hope it doesn't come back. As you said, I hate the wait times and won't do it. I love the ride for what it is, now that they removed the "horse collars." I don't need VR to enhance my experience. I love Rev for what it is...

hahahaha!! i totally forgot about his most recent venture.

A group of us went and saw him in concert with his "angles" in Santa Cruz (Santa Carla), on the anniversary of Lost Boys. My buddy did the meet-and-greet him and said he is a sweet heart of a guy, but is stone serious about his music career. Through the first couple of songs, I was for sure we were being trolled. But as the set went on, you could tell he was giving it his all. He had the venue packed for the first 3 songs or so, but by the 5th it started to thin. I kinda felt bad for him.

Keep My Classic Revolution PLEASE!

Yes, please! Let's just get some true classic-ish seats and shells on those new chassis. See Montezooma's, Shock Wave and Mind Bender. Those classic flat seats and vertical headrests are perfect and practical. What they have on "New" Revo is a mess.

Big Corey Feldman fan here. He's a couple years older than me, and we're both in recovery. But he's much luckier as he got to fight with Jason!

This x1000! I was so happy when they announced the new lap bar trains for Revolution but it was short lived when added the terrible VR to it. Looking forward to riding it a lot more this year the way it was indeed to be ridden!

I did hear a Revolution op tell a guest that VR will be used in the summer months (which doesn't make sense since, thankfully, it seems to break in the heat). Having said that, if parks are still enamored with this "tech" and insist upon using it, perhaps they could repurpose it into a different kind of experience? Maybe there could be a space set aside in the park where all the headsets are gathered in a pile and guests have the opportunity to pelt them with rocks and old vegetables? That would make more sense than sticking them on rides.
