^I don't think that claim necessarily validates your argument. That's like saying "I hate *insert race here*, but I'm okay with them living in America"

But yeah, I think SFMM mayyyybe shouldve gone a bit bigger with their ride, but they are obviously in the know more than an idiot like myself.

I'm still surprised they havent bothered turning the Audio up on Terminator, they managed to turn it down in a couple days, yet they've had the whole summer and then some, and it's still inaudible. At this point, the onboard audio is relatively useless and a total waste of money.

Your reading things into what I said. There's no arguement. I made a statement stating that next year I'll be finding my thrills elsewhere, just like many other enthusiasts do every year. I've been to SFMM every year for 20 years, and will go at some point next year as well. But I'm not freting over them adding a kiddy coaster because I can ride plenty of new to me thrill rides next year. For the last time, I'm not judging the park for not adding a big coaster. I actually like the idea.

I think Manic Monte made it fairly clear what he meant. No need to keep attacking him. Please stop the arguing, this thread is almost unreadable as is.

First time on Terminator since Termination Day.

Please let us know if the effects are working. We were there on Sunday and the fire didn't work and you could barely hear the audio.

Audio was loud today, like "Media Day Loud." The Tunnel mist was off, but it was very cold today. Red lights were on and it was too windy for fire. Ride quality was perfect as usual.

So far the land cleared for the new coaster is very very small! I'm pretty sure that they are not done clearing room for the ride, step 1 was removing that old building. Sorry I didn't get a picture of it, but it is easily seen from Terminator's lift hill.

Making way for something new!

Wow! Looks like that building is gone!

Before -

After -

I don't even think most people were aware that building existed.

^You can see em in the verrrry far right side of the 2nd picture

Edit: Robb: Assuming you went to the park today, did you bother getting any more pictures of Goliath's new paint? Or were you too busy?

Goliath is said to reopen on November 25th if I'm correct. I'd just like to know because I'm taking some first timers on Wednsday and I'd like them to get the full SFMM expirience with every ride.

What building?

I was last at SFMM on November 15 and Terminator's fire was working, but there was no mist in the tunnel. Audio at the beginning was OK, but didn't really notice it during the ride. X2's fire went off just fine.

Because I was there when it was getting dark, I didn't notice any painting on Goliath.

I'll see if I'm up for a visit on Black Friday. Maybe I'll see something then.

You know, it's funny, I was aware of that building, but never questioned it being closed. But yeah, while the removal of the building didn't leave a ton of land, at least we know whatever does take it's spot will make better use of the land than what previously stood.

I'll have to check it out next Sunday.

Went yesterday. Lines weren't too bad. X2 was closed when the park opened due to "high winds," as the ops blocking the entrance were saying. So I went with my friends to Tatsu first, line was about 30 mins. Not sure what time X2 actually opened, but we went after lunch and the wait was an hour.

Fire effects weren't turned on on X2 (I rode both in the afternoon and after dark). I didn't notice the fire on Terminator during the daytime, but they were on at night, which made the night ride that much better!

Hit almost every coaster in the park, including Scream (though I'd mention it since the SFMM site lists it as "temporarily closed"). On average, the lines were 10-20 mins per ride, with the exception of X2. Definitely not a bad day at all!

Howdy -

So I'm going to be in California from December 26th-31st & I'm going to hit up Knott's & SFMM (Been to both before, Knott's in 07, SFMM in 03). I was just curious if anybody here knows if it's usually busy at SFMM around that time of year/post Christmas. I'm not worried at all about Knott's because I've ridden everything there except for X2, Tatsu, Deja Vu, Terminator, and Superman. I have a couple quick questions:

1.) Should I get a flashpass/gold flashpass (depends on crowds which is mainly what I'm curious about)?

2.) What's the best day to go between the 26th & the 31st?

3.) Are there any rides that are expected to be down for maintenance at Knott's or SFMM during that period of time?

If anyone can help out it'd be much appreciated!

Peace-

Problem is, Knott's has none of those

I wouldnt expect massive crowds at either park, but Knott's certainly should be a little more popular, given that it is a bit more family friendly than SFMM.

Still, try to get in SFMM as early as possible. If you do, do X2 first followed by Tatsu and Deja Vu. Terminator's lines will unlikely get very long unless there's a ton of people at the park, and Superman you can really skip out on. Its a lot of fun, but frankly not worth the wait unless you really want the credit or have a lot of time to kill.

For Knott's:

As its been said, Xcelerator's down and probably will remain so until 2010.

For real info on which rides are down and when, you should really visit their websites though or call in Customer Services.

Well I went on Sunday and it was very quiet..

There WERE alot of cheerleader groups a someone mentioned but still the park was very quiet..

I never waited more than 3 minutes for any ride

I practically walked onto x2 and I didn't even run to get there.

Goliath is only half painted so I don't think it will be open for Thanksgiving.

I hit everything except Terminator (didn't walk past it ) Deja Vu (don't like it) and Tatsu (it was closed in the morning and had a long queue in the afternoon) but I'll be back Wednesday for them anyway. Hope it's as quiet as Sunday was
