Koasterking48 Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I'm sure the posters here would complain regardless of whatever it was called seeing as how it was built here and not in CP. There really isn't anything wrong with the name, I think it's perfect actually. I personally could do without the tacked-on "x-treme" theme but whatever, it's the same amazing coaster regardless. The name is not the reason why it's called Yolocoaster on here. Refer to this video on why it has a word filter: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]Hardly anybody on here complains about the ride itself other than its length. In fact, I've heard from quite a few posters regarding it as the best ride in the park. The station, queue and surrounding area, on the other hand, not so much.

Yeah, that advertisement is pretty cringe worthy. It's like they tried to reach that teen demographic that frequents the park but a bunch of old white guys were the ones who put the campaign together.
adamd Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 ^^ I agree with anyone that says Full Throttle is the funnest and best ride at the park. I'd say Tatsu would be 2nd. 3rd I'd give a slight nod to Apocolypse and not far behind in 4th I'd say Superman Escape From Krypton. X2 is too rough and jerky to really be enjoyable.
WFChris Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Ninja is probably my favorite ride at the park. No joke.
XYZ Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Full Throttle is my favorite ride at SFMM. It would be a great coaster if the restraints were comfortable.
RandallDuell Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I usually just call it Throttle on this site to avoid that retarded filter. The filter isn't going anywhere, since YOLOCoaster is a much better name than what Six Flags calls it! Yahhhh! On an unrelated note, what's the status of Sky Tower? I don't see it on Magic Mountain's website, and I've not read any recent gossip about it?
i<3coasters Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Ninja is probably my favorite ride at the park. No joke. Ninja does have its moments.
Superbatboy Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Yeah if only Yolo were longer it'd be the best in the park, it's fast, smooth, forceful, and a unique experience with 3 launches. I'm surprised more of the smaller SF haven't installed these, it's inexpensive and takes up a relatively small footprint.
Superbatboy Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Ninja is probably my favorite ride at the park. No joke. Ninja does have its moments. I love Ninja, it was my very first roller coaster at 7 years old. It scared the shit out of me lol
WFChris Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 The way it interacts with Jet Stream, the trees, and the terrain in general is just everything I love about roller coasters. By all means, the big ones are fun too, but I love me some terrain action, which is something we don't have a whole lot of here in so cal.
GayCoasterGuy Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 but I love me some terrain action, which is something we don't have a whole lot of here in so cal. Well, we had/have Revolution, but... I'll keep quiet
tororific Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Ninja is probably my favorite ride at the park. No joke. Ninja does have its moments. I love Ninja, it was my very first roller coaster at 7 years old. It scared the poo-poo out of me lol Ninja is a really fun ride, particularly the way it keeps building in intensity as it goes along. Sad that it is one of the few remaining quality Arrow suspendeds. i will never forgive BGW for getting rid of the Big Bad Wolf - that was a great ride.

Full Throttle is a terrain coaster, so it's not exactly the ideal ride to clone. Besides, SF has already shown their intrests in Premiere rides with both FT & SUF
singemfrc Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I dont know if Id go so far as to say it's the best ride in the park, but it is definitely a fun ride, and yeah the reason its called YOLOCoaster has nothing to do with the name SFMM gave it, which isn't really that bad. I just always called it YOLOCoaster though, it always seems weird to me when I see someone call it by it's given name. Green Lantern is my favorite ride in the park currently as I just love the intensity and unpredictability (And the SR line that eliminates waiting!) X2 is my favorite in design, it used to be by far my favorite but currently its so painful that it's hard to enjoy.
coasterbill Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I think Ninja is absolutely one of the best rides in the park... the only ride I like better is Tatsu and Apocalypse when they properly maintain it.
coasterlvr Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I hadn't ridden Ninja in a while, but the last two times I've gone, I have. Forgot how fun it is. They really do need to clean up the lift hill areas though.
thrillseeker4552 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Ninja is a very fun ride, but every time I ride it I think the train is going to fall apart. It feels so loose and "untightened".

DJeXeL Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 While I do agree (And Hope) that an RMC creation of some sort is coming to the mountain, nothing is truly "confirmed" until the press release from the park.
singemfrc Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Seriously..please look up the definition of the word confirms before you throw it around. This is far from confirmation, but it is definitely intriguing. I want to believe that this will be an RMC conversion, I want to believe that SFMM will finally get it's first truly great coaster in at least 12 years. (Say what you will about the current state of that 12 year old coaster, but it was mindblowing when it opened). I do believe that this is the most likely thing to happen, Im just anxious for official confirmation.

GL, is the most painful crotch ride I've ever been on. I also hate X2 - too painful also but not in the crotch!

GL, is the most painful crotch ride I've ever been on. I also hate X2 - too painful also but not in the crotch! It depends on the shape of your body and how well you fit into the seats. It doesn't hurt my crotch (or anywhere else) at all. A friend of mine who's much smaller than me says its very painful for her (She calls the it "Planned Parenthood: The Ride") but its not to me at all. I think it's more comfortable for larger people, I'm 6'0", and the seats are still high off the ground for me, so for shorter people it's just not a fit. X2 is another story. My calves are sore as hell after just one lap on that ride...but it's very fun up until they get hit.
