coasterfreak101 Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I think you might need to learn a lesson in sarcasm...

Tmcdllr Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 An anonymous insider tells me, that the anonymous insider joke has run it's course. Â Anonymously, of course!
daveydo5172 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Why not another woodie to take its place...another Boulder Dash or a T-Express would suit me fine! And if 3 woodies is too much for the park to handle, then remove Colossus!
Tmcdllr Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 A launched woodie with inversions and a water splash!
Bryce232 Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Inverted wooden aquatrax with inversions, come on Six Flags, this shouldn't be THAT hard to build!
pdcon Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Ok its getting old. This MM forum is starting to sound like a broken record. A 100+ MPH, inverted launched, wooden auqatrax looper with a splash down, built on the side of the mountain, I don know if this is all suposed to be funny? Butim telling you it not, not even a chuckle came from this guy here. So let's get back on the topic of "real" coaster. Â Â What ever ther do build on the old logjammer spot, are gueses probabley won't even come close, atleast not tell they make an official announcment and drop a few more hints.
coasterking2981 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Just because you don't find it funny doesn't mean others don't. What's wrong with having a little fun by making ridiculous speculations that of course we know aren't true? Â Then again, maybe they are building the world's first 500ft tall wooden dive machine aquatrax.... Â Either way, speculating on what will go in either LJ's spot or Deja Vu's is far more redundant. Let people have their fun.
ernierocker Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 ^Exactly. The whole point of this site is to have fun and not be overly serious all the time. Â And when it comes to the point that a joke has been taken too far, and it is time for the thread to move on in discussion, the moderators will make that decision.
pdcon Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Just saying I can go back pages and pages on a lot of the pages the past few weeks, someone has brought up this same subject, its getting old, people already got there laughs out of it. The fun with wooden inverted launched, aquatrax 100+ looper that weaves from one end of the park to other. The joke is over. Sorry. I will let it go.

Does this thread really have to be so serious?
JJ728 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 It's a little late because I forgot to post, but I was at the Mountain Saturday the 19th. They were kind of having a rough day. I think it was way more crowded then they thought it would be (seeing as they only set the hours from 10:30 to 6:00 and there was a pretty imminent chance of rain). Â As mentioned on here, there was a school club something day, and on top of the parking lot that was full up to Scream, there was about 50 buses parked unloading countless hoards of high school kids. I did my quick lap staying in front of the crowds and chilled on the 'short lined' rides the rest of the day. Scream had a line that went to the bottom of the stairs. Â A couple things: Superman was down all day. They had the temporary fences and an employee standing in front of the plaza directing people away from the ride. I didn't stop to ask if it was having maintenance problems or if it was down for construction, but I'm assuming it was just broken down or had rain water on the tracks. Â Ninja was running pretty inconsistent, and finally shut down for good at around 4:00ish. Tatsu and X2 had pretty slow dispatches and were both sporting 2 hour lines. The trees were changing colors and dropping leaves, which looked very pretty. But I don't know what it is with people, just because there are leaves DOES NOT mean you can litter on top of it! A combination of that and the one janitor that I saw all day left the midways needing some help. Â I also saw something I couldn't believe that day. Viper had a line. And it had a line ALL DAY! Ten minutes minimum! WTF?! But when I took a ride on it, I don't know if the earth shifted its rotation or what, but I had an AMAZING ride! The speed through the first three loops was great, and I was laughing uncontrollably through the double corkscrews. I don't know why, but Saturday, November 19th was Viper's day. Very happy. Surprised! Minimal roughness. Â [Edit]: The Christmas decorations looked very nice at night. The trees through the main plaza, carols playing through the park, and light up decorations around the waterfall definitely made for a nice atmosphere at the end of the chilly day.
Someotherguyuser Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Going back to the replacement for Log Jammer, I have a theory here. Â Let me say first that I highly, HIGHLY doubt an Aquatrax will be replacing LJ. Like someone mentioned, water rides are expensive to maintain. Â With that said, here's what I think will go there. Either a lunched coaster like Cheetah or the long-awaited giga or B&M monster. I know the latter sounds a bit ludicrous, but hear me out... Â To utilize the space, whether it will be a launched or a monster, I think they will utilize not just the immediate location and terrain but also use the flattened Flashback space. If it is a giga, they could probably fit the lift by making both that and the drop a LOT steeper than Goliath and have a giant "twisty hill" (Like the kind you see on Megalites or what we'll see on Manta), have an overbanked turn, go back to the area, and have the rest of the coaster go over the terrain. Â This is what I think will be more likely. If they used a launched coaster, they will probably have the launch over where the lake is, camelback or barrel roll over the guests, use the Flashback area, and use the LJ terrain. Â Magic Mountain is lacking a "traditional" launch coaster (Launching forward without traveling backward on the same track), yet it's also lacking a monster coaster with a really steep drop. Whether it's a launch or a giga or B&M, I think it has serious potential of filling that "airtime void" that the West coast so desperately needs.
Rollercoaster Rider Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 How about use the Lagoon for a Mack Splash Battle Water Ride?
mr. cockblock Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 (edited) yet it's also lacking a monster coaster with a really steep drop. X2, Deja-Vu (while it was open) and Superman EFK all have vertical drops. While I would love to see a Giga or Dive Machine as well, I think we can all agree that the park doesn't need it at this time. Â The park is missing a terrain hugging, airtime filled launch coaster. The Log Jammer space would be PERFECT for a Intamin Blitz. Launch, airtime and vertical drop all in one coaster, kill three birds with one stone. Â But knowing how unpredictable and XTREME SFMM likes to be they will probably just build a 550 foot Kingda-Ka coaster. Edited November 29, 2011 by mr. cockblock
SoCalCoasters Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Personally, I'm all for a Blitz coaster, not just because they're amazing and engineering masterpieces*, but because the idea of Cedar Point fanboys going into a psycotic rampage over it amuses me profusely. Â *Besides a certain, erm mistake on Maverick -coughBarrelRollcough-
DougMJr Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 ^I always wondered how it would feel if maverick kept the barrel roll. It looked painful! Â Back on topic. A blitz coaster would be my vote. SFMM could build an awesome terrain hugger. Being close to the ground makes a ride seem much faster, and they don't really need another speed machine anyway.
AnonymousReed Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I just don't see it being an Intamin the next couple of years. I can see a Rocky Mountain treatment on Colossus in the future and maybe a Ziere launched, Mack, Premier, but not Intamin for some reason. I think we've gotten too much from them with Green Lantern, Superman, and Lex Luthor coming up. I love Intamin to death but I think it is going to be awhile until another Intamin lands in the mountain.
jzoole Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 ^ Not that I'm saying I think MM's next project will be with Intamin, but I feel like the park working with Intamin on two projects in 2011, then going back to them for their 2012 project only INCREASES the likelihood of a 2013/2014 project being another Intamin. Parks like to work with manufacturers that they have established a good relationship with and have had successful projects with. That's why we saw Cedar Point build five Intamins in a row (MF, WT, TTD, Mav, Shoot the Rapids). And BGW kept going back to B&M. Magic Mountain doesn't care about what the enthusiast community thinks. They care about building projects that are going to be successful with the GP and about working with a company they have built a good relationship with. They're not going to say "Hey, we've been building too many Intamins, we need a ride from some other company." And anyway, it probably simplifies things to be able to order parts for multiple rides all from one place. I wouldn't be surprised if they placed orders for Lex Luthor at the same time as for Green Lantern and new EFK cars as some kind of bundle deal. And I wouldn't be shocked to hear thatas part of that bundle, they were already planning a future attraction with Intamin for the Logjammer site. Not saying the are; just saying I wouldn't be surprised.
sammmmmy Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Â But knowing how unpredictable and XTREME SFMM likes to be they will probably just build a 550 foot Kingda-Ka coaster. Â Â Im sure if SFMM built a 550 foot monster, nobody would be complaining. Â But I do have trust that magic mountain will utilize that space nicely, its really the first good space that's opened up in a while. If they open up anything that has been mentioned on this forum about this topic, I'm sure everyone would get excited. I could see a fairly long blitz going there, which would be awesome considering Maverick and iSpeed are both in my top ten.
Wes Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Im sure if SFMM built a 550 foot monster, nobody would be complaining. Â Haha that's an adorable opinion.
Sir Clinksalot Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 SFMM could build the undisputed best coaster in the world and still, somebody would have something to complain about. Â Actually, this probably applies to pretty much any park.
