apollo210 Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 A new Launched X Car is coming to Drievliet Family Park. It'll have a LSM launch and will launch from 0-40.4 MPH. Insted of trains this Launcher will have cars, holding 6 riders each. It'll also have 2 inversions. http://www.rcdb.com/id3602.htm this is the link to the rides RCDB page. http://www.rcdb.com/ig3602.htm?picture=1 this is what the ride should look like. http://www.rcdb.com/document213.htm Here's a link to the press release. Hopefully it won't squash peoples nuts.
MSLSM Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 That coaster looks painful unless something is done about the restraints. The zero-G looks looks like it is too sharp to be taken without being rough. The only good parts are the hills that should give some airtime.
SharkTums Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Yeah, sorry...not amused! I think that out of 53 of us riding the X Car at Drayton Manor, 2 of us liked it, and only 6 of us were stupid enough to try it again! I hope they make some major modifications to the restraints.
CoasterFanatic Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 If only the restraints could be made to "lock" before you leave the station. My big problem was that the restraint pulled down ever further during the first portion of the ride. By the end ... I couldn't even breathe.
HCOSurfer90 Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Ouch that zero g-roll reminds me of SFgadv's Viper inversion: http://rcdb.com/ig33.htm?picture=1
pvcoasterguy Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Maurer Shone either needs to improve their X-Car design or go back to designing their awesome (spinning) wild mice. It doesn't look like much fun.

mark9 Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 It's not really an X-car coaster if it doesn't have the Vertical life, one of the only saving graces on G-Force. Launches seem to be the norm now.
niiicolaaah Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Oooh, that looks painful. No thanks. Not an X-car coaster fan.
TheStig Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 I think I remember hearing that different trains would be used with their launched coasters, but I heard nothing about different restraints. The trains looked cool because the seats progressevly moved outwards in kind of a V shape. Ill see if I can find a picture somewhere. Colin C
Shockwave Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Looks like I'll be back in Holland next year now. Drievliet, Duinrell and Toverland getting new coasters! I'm least looking forward to the X-Car, because I'm not looking forward to the crushing restraints. I have enough trouble breathing normally!
rollermonkey Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 I saw this on RCDB, too. What a weird, out of place ride to put into that park! I don't think I saw a single person riding rides there (besides me) over the age of 12 when I was there. I was one of the people on the UK trip who rode G-force more than once (4 times, actually) I thought it was OK, but I didn't like that the restraint squeezed me like a tube of toothpaste as the ride progressed, either.
CoasterCrazy Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 I didn't like the restraints on G-Force and I think the same restraints would be a nightmare on a launch coaster. They better use different restraints on the launch version of X-Car!
okinawaboy11 Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 X-Car coasters are too...short. They need to make them longer. I would like to see like, an extended X-Car coaster. Like...hyper or giga length. With longer trains. But still have some funky inversions that these things are capable of doing. Then it would be more interesting.
Goeone Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 I live about 15 miles from Drievliet. Don't like the park at all and with this coaster coming i guess i'm not gonna like it a bit more.
Mystery Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Looks like I'll be back in Holland next year now. Drievliet, Duinrell and Toverland getting new coasters! I'm least looking forward to the X-Car, because I'm not looking forward to the crushing restraints. I have enough trouble breathing normally! And the Vliegende Hollander will open at the Efteling (Hopefully )
haux Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 That's odd. I remember at IAAPA a couple of years ago, people seemed really excited about the X-Car restraints because you have so much mobility. This is the first time I've heard the restraints are terrible. What exactly is so bad? Do they crush your legs? Can you not move your ankles?
the sound Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Formule-X Is its name. 2 Inversions 65 Kph (40.4 Mph) Maximum Height og 15 meters. LSM Launch Track 1 2 by 3 Car launched at 1 time. Sounds really interesting to me.
Satoshi Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 looks like it's going to be great fun. you know it's only got 40.4 mph ( in kph, around 65 ) but it's really LSM thing and the elements would be kinda unique thing. i guess X-Car coaster will be going to make brand-new thrills like people's screaming at funky inverted lift! the height will be only around 50ft, X-Car coaster has tons of possibility that its thing can make bigger thrills everywhere because the park does not need to use spaces!
gaga_lefou Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Some pictures here of the construction: http://board.themeparkvision.net/showthread.php?t=6697&page=4&pp=20
RubenTheys Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 The current trackwork looks fairly smooth to me. Now I hope it actually IS smooth.. If so, I will ** Maurer as the layout is pretty cool
thomas2 Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Looks very good. It isn't big, but the turns look fun. Let's hope it's smooth!
apollo210 Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 I'm definetly not amused by Formule-X. Ok, Lets look at G-Force at Drayton Manor. Sure it looks smooth but is it? NO! Sorry, I just think it will be a nut buster.
redunzelizer Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Looks like it's to get one more helix than initially presented: http://www.rcdb.com/de/m/ig3602.htm?picture=1 See video interview here: http://scripts.ad.nl/adtv/drievliet/drievliet.html (in case above link wont work: http://www.ad.nl/denhaag/stad/article933489.ece and click the link there) plus a few construction pics there: http://board.themeparkvision.net/showthread.php?t=6697&page=4&pp=20 EDIT: a bit too late, I know...
