Dinghy Disaster ORP!
Angry_Gumball replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That kinda reminds me of when I went on one of those family raft slides at WaterWorld Concord. Though there was only 3 of us, we were flying down the slide and I kept getting major wall-time. During the ride, I was hanging onto a pouch so it wouldn't get wet and my other hand holding the handles on the raft. As soon as I hit the high banking, I was launched in the air and landed in the center of the raft...not once, but maybe a good 3 times. It was quite funny actually. -
I still remember it though I was only 4. Firstoff my cousin and I were playing 'cars' outside with hotwheels cars driving them along the wooden fence. Being kids, we pretended it was the baybridge and we were driving across. Suddenly, things shook and we were dragged in and under our sturdy table. No damages luckily especially because my uncle was under a car at the time working on it. Later on that night, I saw these: That could be quite scary to see when you're only 4 and had no clue what had just happened...and also odd coincidence that we were 'driving on the bay brige' with our hotwheels cars on the fence.

We had actually set up a haunt at my church many years back in a garage sized room. The room had 2 doors on 1 wall, one on either end so our layout had kind of a W or M shape however you look at it. We strung some twine across the room and got tons of black sheets and draped it over the twine. I sat in a small indention area we made, slouching in a chair as though I was dead. Unsuspecting visitors would be caught offguard when I suddenly jumped up and screamed at them. In one part of the room, it had this walk in storage area so we put a strobe light in there, some disco ball with an It the Clown-like dude. At the tail end, it was pitch black with the exception of another strobe light aimed at our graveyard scene so as people were distracted by that, we had another dressed in all black including the faceless mask jump out at them. It got everyone who walked through it. Just keep the initial layout simple like an S or a W shape depending on the layout of your garage...once you got a layout set up and walls up, start theming it.

Photo TR: Elissa Pre-orders the Nintendo Wii!
Angry_Gumball replied to SharkTums's topic in Random, Random, Random
To me, Wii and PS3 is like DS and PSP....PSP boasts its fancy graphics and um...ok, wifi? video? music? My DS can do the same except surf the web. To me, I care more about the gameplay and creativity. Graphics are bonus points. I know many people who were excited about PSP but now could care less about it and actually show interest in the DS or borrow their friend's DS. And speaking of Wii, our local Target doesn't have preorders (dunno if they will) but they already started setting up the Wii display cabinet and started to sell accessories (Rubberized controller cover, disc cases, sling bags for storing your wii). How much are wii looking at spending on games anyway? (sorry, I had to...) -
Southpark definitely did it as far as laughs go...Many of my friends are WoWers and I can totally see them in there. Onto tonight's episode, it is weird (Watching it as I type)...Who in the right mind would took a dump in the urinal anyway? Wait a sec...that's weird. There was a topic about urinals and stuff. See? It is a conspiricy. Ok...I guess I got carried away by tonight's episode.

Seeing the topic about snakes, I decided that it's time I show off my reptile pet. Finally, got some pix of my bearded dragon as I got him situated in my room. His name is Gilligan and he was given to us...I had to work with him as he wasn't quite easy to work with. Now, though, he lets me pick him up without 'singing' (opening his mouth at me) and relaxes. You sayin' something to me? Bearded Dragon kicking it on his rock...
-
Say hi to my little friend....He was hanging out on the eve of our roof a few years ago when I took the pic and he was right above the walkway. Seconds after taking the pic of him, we hosed him (well, technically her) down and smashed the spider as soon as it landed on the ground. This spider was the size of a 50 cent coin including it's legs in it's position in the picture. And yes, this ACEr spider's eating a wasp for those who wonder. Rawr!!! Don't mess with me!!11!

DVD Cameras are not good at recording stuff on the fly. Best bet for now is a DV cam. To be honest, they should make high end camcorders that record onto a high capacity SD card or CF card...then you don't have to worry about mechanical parts, damaged tapes, DVDs that failed finalizing and all that. For now, stick with DV cam.

Liseberg Discussion Thread
Angry_Gumball replied to viking86's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm sorry...I couldn't hold back on laughing...Just picturing someone going down the flume like a waterslide. -
Or if you're lazy and don't flush! Or, the dreaded Port-o-Potty. That pic above reminded me of when some kid took some dumpage in a urinal way back when I was in the 5th grade. Actually, trees/bushes would be waterless urinals as well...I'm sure many have had to use the tree at one point or another.

The "Report Post" Button
Angry_Gumball replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is there a way to space apart the Report Post button? Trying to quote someone, I accidentally hit the report post...maybe it can be sitting somewhere off to the side by it's self? Not sure if anyone else has accidentally hit the report post instead of quote. -
Before I reply to the quote, I have one complaint...I wish the report post button was not next to it because I accidentally hit that instead of quote...Sorry for any confusion admins. Anyway, most of the players I see out there are shooting with Spyders...and those using the autocockers, honestly are not any better. Yes, they look intimidating because of their jerseys and overpriced high maintenance guns but it's nothing really....just rich paintballers. What blows me away is seeing a 12 year old with his own Angel or whatever and all decked out in this jersey. I wonder how many times did he bug his parents to invest $1000 on a sport instead of a mere $200 that does the same. Also, another paintball rant: The general public. Yes, I can say general public as they don't play...so therefore, they think paintball is bad...mkay? I had some stupid teacher take my paintball book away as they said "They're guns...Guns are weapons...not allowed at school." I had to explain that it is a sport but I would have been better off talking to the wall. She's lucky I didn't take off my jacket otherwise she woulda blown a fuse seeing a grim reaper holding a paintball gun with red paint on his scythe.

^I agree...It's amazing on how powerful the launches can be for such short towers...and how sudden it has to stop at the top, which creates some nice airtime. I've only ridden the S&S Doubleshot and Intamin Giant Drop (Drop Zone, PGA).

I'm posting this here instead of it's own thead mainly because I don't know if I"m going to keep making more of these as a series. I was messing with Flash tonight after watching some southpark episodes and decided to do something similar to Flipdude's Elissa & Robb on the NL coaster. Hope you enjoy and tell me if I should do a series of "The Many Deaths of Kenny in the Themepark world." (He could die due to vekomas and whatnot.) Anyway, enjoy! kenny coaster.WMV OMG, the coaster killed Kenny!

Being as you're in the bay area, I can give you some pointers on what fields are good/suck. I still have more fields (paintball credits??) to get but have played at a few already: Sunol, Santa Clara Fairgrounds, Operation PB, The Paintball Zone (Waterford), Venture Games PB, and Bear Creek. Here's my mini reviews on each: Operation PB: Closest one to me, actually in my hometown about 10 minutes away with good traffic. Unfortunately, it's got a very steep price. (Forgot what it is now but back when I played there, it was $20 for 4 hours.) They're a FPO field (Field Paint Only) and they charge a lot for the paint. Only 2 small fields as far as I remember. Not worth visiting. Santa Clara FG: I've played on this field many times and actually like it...but not the way it's ran. You can say it's the Six Flags of paintball fields with disorganized ref's. Prices are good which you can do all day or half day options. This is a BYOP (Bring your own Paint) field. I'd recommend this for beginners and intermediates alike. The Paintball Zone: Way out in the middle of nowhere (Waterford, just past Oakdale) is probably the only con about this field. I mean, what more can you ask for with $10 for all day? They got large fields, 5 I believe. They have a snyper tower, gutted out mobile homes & trailers, and school bus as well as your normal woodsball stuff. Really great field if you don't mind the drive. This is a BYOP field. Sunol Paintball: Yet another gem in the bay area. Staff was friendly and got us up and going as soon as we were ready. Only 2 fields, but they both have really good layouts and are really large. We've only been there once and played in the dreaded summer heat. It's a BYOP too and CO2 fills were fairly cheap. You should check this one out as well. Venture Games PB: Seated on the side of Mt. Diablo, this field is yet another gem. This is probably one of my favorite fields to play as it's a decent woodsball within reasonable driving distance. Only downfall is that it's on a hill side, meaning you could easily trip up and take a ride downhill into the small creek. $20 for all day from what I remember and I believe they still give out cards and keep record of how many visits you make. I think every 5th visit is free. Cheapest C02 fills I've ever seen. $2 to fill up my 20 ouncer. Lastly, watch for deer ticks. Last and least, Bear Creek: This one's in the Santa Cruz Mtns and was probably one my worst paintball experiences ever. On the site it said it was a BYOP and I had a fresh case of pink fill, non staining paintballs. When we arrived, they said "No Pink Paint!" Never said anything on their website about it. One way driveway to get in as well...meaning both directions share 1 narrow road wide enough for a small car. Layout sucked as well...too much overhead brush messed things up for high angle shots and too much low brush for low shots. We ended up spending more than planned so we had to use paint sparingly. Do not visit unless you want to... That pretty much sums up my experiences at the local fields. Not sure where you live, Phazan, but I'd probably recommend the Santa Clara Fairgrounds as a starter field.

The Intamin Woodie difference (pics)
Angry_Gumball replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Now, I know what the term "Intamin Fart" is....It actually does sound like it has some gas problems. -
Definitely scary...Something definitely doesn't look right with that evil toy.

The Looping-Slide strikes back!
Angry_Gumball replied to DragonKhan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is it just me or does that slide look like it's uncovered on the drop, and through the loop? I know the rest looks enclosed. That slide's proportions do look kinda off though; stretched out loop and ultra steep drop. -
Slingshot!
Angry_Gumball replied to thrillrideseeker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Closest to a slingshot I got was riding ThrillShot (Old saddle pods) at SFMM. That was actually quite a rush it's self. -
On Ride Photos
Angry_Gumball replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Here's 2 of my most recent onrides. Medusa onride...no one cared that I was filming the TV screens. I got yelled at for video taping a flickery screen...Anyway, it was so hot that having a drink while riding a coaster was necessary. -
Photo & Video TR: iPod Stress Reliever
Angry_Gumball replied to Token Yankee Guy's topic in Random, Random, Random
Is it me or are the more current iPods screwing up like crazy? I'm glad that I havent upgraded my 3rd Gen iPod...it's still running like new except the battery's lifespan, which I can replace real fast. -
All you need is a demultiplexer. TMPG happens to be a real useful tool out there that handles many things including breaking audio apart from video (demultiplexing) so you have a silent video file and an audio file. If you don't feel like spending money for that, you can use the freeware VirtualDub...you can rip audio out of the video as well. Voice impersonations do happen to be funnier though.
