The SMBBB mini games are actually quite addicting when you get a ton of people over. My personal favorite would have to be Monkey Darts. Here's a good laugh over at . Some dude "Gets the Wiimote to the eye" which seems fake...it's worth a laugh or 2 though. I mean, how can the strap break off when you hit someone in the face anyway? -

It is a lot like Google Earth, without the satalite images. I personally like giving the earth a quick flick of the wrist and make it spin like crazy. Not to mention, this thing's quite accurate. Shows rain for Thursday, and I kept hearing about rain Thursday. I also like how Antartica was at 1 degree and bumped up to 3 this evening. -

Saw that before, but it was a good laugh. Wish someone showed that at the Wii campout. Anyway, anyone update their Wii's today or get the blue glow early this morning (Depending where you are) because the Forecast channel is up and running. I notice that it's limited to major cities but I'm sure updates will add more cities to it. (I had to choose the closest city, Oakland, to find my temp, which is just a tiny slight difference...but it works.) -

Well, if you set 2 candles on the ground or your sensor bar on the ground, then I'd imagine so as it's using 2 infrared lightsources as a direction for the Wiimote. The sensor bar doesn't really pick up motion...just produces light we can't see. Communication is all strictly bluetooth connectivity. -

I got some good news and some bad news to share with all you Wii users out there: First, here's the bad. I took my Wii to my aunts for a Christmas Party yesterday and many had never heard of the Wii until Friday's news about the recall. First questions I heard was "Is that the system that people have been destroying their TV's with?" and "Oh...Nintendo's recalling the straps..." Second to that, my dad found an interesting read about the Wii epidemic, which could be found here. Basically, there's a class action lawsuit about people being stupid and chucking wiimotes at their TV's. Funny thing is, that the only TVs I see getting destroyed are the hi-def/plasma/lcd TV's. No standard CRT TV's have gotten harmed from what I saw. (Wouldn't it be funny if a bunch of Sony employees were hired on to take on the task of purchasing a Wii, and destroy their TVs and surrounding objects just to give bad publicity for Nintendo?) Now, the great news: I got 4 replacement straps on it's way (Like everyone else) and my Wii survived the Xmas party. Adults and kids alike from maybe 5 years up to who knows tried it out. No slippage of anykind happened, no broken straps. Even my 3 year old neice grabbed my wiimote and swing it around without the strap and had a good grip on it. -
Nintendo to replace straps on Wii

Are these straps free? I think I may order myself 4 of them as backups just incase of any snappage. (I'm taking my Wii to my aunts tomorrow and my younger cousins as well as adults are probably going to try it out). -
Wii Sports: Tennis. (No one was injured during gameplay and no harm to the TV was done )
-
Wii Shop Channel: On the welcome screen. Soon, Zelda: Twilight Princess, just beat the Gerudo Prison dungeon.

There are some slight inaccuracies with the web-based Mii creator: You can move the eyes off of the head completely...cant do that on the Wii...and some facial features are missing on the web-based Mii creator. When it comes down to it, this contest would be no different than an RCT contest: Not everyone has RCT3 or plays it yet there's still contests (Ok, not official TPR) but they still work. Same with NL. Not everyone has NL
-
With the addiction of making Mii's on the Wii, I came up with an idea when making my latest Mii: A contest ofcourse. This is only a suggestion that maybe R&E could consider and it would be unique as it isn't photoshop, and it isn't coasters. Basically, it would be to make the most original/funny Mii. With messing around, possibilities are endless. Hopefully this idea would be considered. What do you guys say? I know not everyone has a Wii yet but maybe once the Wii population grows, the contest can happen.

Something cool I found out when talking to Man on MSN and watching each other play Zelda on the webcams. I noticed this odd glow on 2 ends on top of my TV...Thought this was kinda cool that the webcam was able to see the infrared leds on the Wii's Sensor bar. Try it for yourselves with your digicams. -
Nintendo being sued for patent infringement

Forget the Z trigger on the N64...how about the Nintendo Zapper for the NES? "trigger operated device in the nature of a pointing device for use with an electronic system..." Did we not do that with Duck Hunt? -

100% agreed. How many times have you heard of "Inerlink Electronics"? Eh.....I actually use one of these things at church to run the powerpoint....It is actually nothing like the Wiimote other than it's shape. To move the cursor, I have to actually use this round button...not motion sensitive. I hope Nintendo doesn't get screwed out on it. By the way, this is exactly what I use: The only cursor I can physically move using my arm is if I use the laser pointer...otherwise, I have to use the pressure-sensitive d-pad....(Nintendo, sue 'em for the pressure sensitive d-pad! I believe Nintendo pioneered the whole analog stick anyway...) -

Hearing the Wii epidemic and everything, Nintendo made an effort to send this out to everyone who registered their Wii's. It is also available on the Nintendo website. It basically says "Don't chuck your wiimote when bowling, don't brutally beat people up with the wiimote, and use your wrist strap. So far, so good here as far as Wii accidents...Wii Don't Have A Problem! Ok..nevermind...I did nearly get hit in the head playing Baseball on Wii Sports. -

Did you try back-handing the ball? And don't feel so bad...My fitness age was 76. -
I need to get a better pic of our house...It was cold that night and I had my exposures all screwed up and couldn't hold the camera still for nothing.

Robb, here's a demo of me playing the Frisbee Golf as mentioned in my above post as well as Fish Jabbing. If you're wondering, my cousin was asking me what I was doing when I was recording it. -

I couldn't figure out the Disc golf one actually...mainly because I didn't read the instructions but for the mst part, the games worked fine (Like tight rope walk, darts, fish stabbing, monkey race and so on.) *Loads up "Monkey Balls" to test out some mini games again...* Ok, the aiming on Disc Golf's a bit overly sensitive...otherwise, I'm having no issues playing it. I just made a video clip of me attempting Frisbee Golf, slapping the arrow around and then Fish Stabbing. Posting on You Tube for you guys to see how poorly I handle Frisbee Golf and then Jabing fish up their butts with a pitchfork. I will post the link when it's done processing. -

We actually enjoyed playing Monkey Ball, though I'm a bit let down that they took out "Challenge Mode" where 2 or more players played the main levels. Monkey Darts was pretty fun as I found out that I"m more accurate holding the remote like a dart. I also wish that my favorite party game, Monkey Target, had more types of targets to land on...like SMB2 for the Cube. Lastly, my friend and I did the game where you hurl the ball to see how far it goes and we actually spun like the monkey did...and it worked. Dizzy, yes...Success? Definitely...100 Meters or however far it measures....I just saw 100. The end-result was falling over and onto the couch while feeling sick to our stomachs and laughing. -

Expensiveness is just a matter of opinion...meaning, $40 for the Wii-mote is kinda high priced but not overly expensive to me...(I was able to get 3 more Wii-motes) It also seems expensive in a foriegn country but 1 USD could be equivalent to maybe...say 50 cents (US money) to them. Every country's currency's different and value what's equivalent to a dollar to us differently.. Hopefully that straightened some things out. -
Here's my handwriting, NDS style. It's prettymuch the same as it is on paper. The writing says it all. Semi-semi decent writing...I actually write small.

Hey, anyone know how to remove a Game Cube memory card from the Wii? Mine kinda got stuck in the slot when playing a gamecube game earlier. I don't want to force it out and have something break. And I did put it in the right way...it won't come back out of the slot. EDIT: Nevermind...as soon as I posted it and tried again, it finally released. I kinda had to push it backward and slide it out if anyone else runs into the same thing. -
That list is very usefull and should be updated regularly. I now see I"m not up-to-date...missing 2. By the way, go into the parade...I made 2 "Vekoma Buddies": A vekoma male and female.
