Flat Ride Accident in China
canadianparkfan replied to gerstlaueringvar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Indeed weird given that the restraints are locked and there are seat belts. Zamperla successfully made one... a 30 seat model... [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/Y3iLp_fEnZU[/youtu_be] Mondial as well, at Fantasy Island and Ocean Park. Plus nearly every other Italian manufacturer. SBF VISA (Spin cycle, Silverwood), Fabri (Jupiter), Technicak Park (Looping Street Fighter), Rides and Fun S.R.L. (Twist and Sun 360). I believe moser is one of the only Italian flat ride manufacturers to not make an inverting frisbee type ride nowadays. However, their take looks even worse than the above chinese knockoff... It's a stand up version (see image below) -
Flat Ride Accident in China
canadianparkfan replied to gerstlaueringvar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is terrible My thoughts are with those involved . I wonder how frequent accidents like this happen over in China. I'd imagine we don't hear about all of them. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
canadianparkfan replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This video (mainly the comments on it) makes me question what the GP truely understand about rides. While these photoshopped rides look cool, it's pretty sad to see how many arguments have broken out in the comments section over whether they're real or not... Seriously!? Sure, the intro to the video makes it seem legit, (and I'll be honest, the quadruple decker HUSS breakdance/condor combo had me going ). But as the rides got crazier and more like something off thrillville, it wasn't hard to tell the vid was just a joke. -
Zippers?
canadianparkfan replied to leviathandude306's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, for those who are worried about zippers becoming extinct, seems like there's good news. From what I've heard last year at IAAPA, chancs not only is making amazing coasters like LR at KK. Yhey've now started making flat rides again, including Zippers apparently one's already been sold. -
Zippers?
canadianparkfan replied to leviathandude306's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Had no idea that running the ride that way caused so much ware and tear. Guess that's why the zipper at my local carnival got soled a few years back for maintenance issues. Apparently they weren't able to fix it at the other show who bought it, probably sitting in a junk yard right now. Real shame considering it was one of the last older models and, until it was plagued with issues near the end, seemed in great condition and was well kept. -
Best Drop Ride!!!

Anybody hear any more news on that giant funtime tower? Would be amazing if one came here to North America (although I have my doubts it'll ever happen). The last time a travelling tower of that size was around this side of the pond, I believe it was a Moser model that is now at a small park in the states. Here's a vid -

Best Pendulum Flat Ride?
canadianparkfan replied to canadianparkfan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I've heard a lot of people mention this ride. Anyone know what makes this version so much better than stuff like MaxAir? -
Found this report on YouTube the other day. Probably just GP spouting BS again. Still a little worried it'll be like the windseeker incidents all over again... I'm not ready for another GP uproar ADMIN EDIT: removed stupid link.

FINALLY!! Test run POV released! This is just crazy... I don't know what to even say! Looks like Lots of ! EDIT: Oh wait! Wrong video! APRIL FOOLS! -
Didn't see a thread of this on here, so thought I'd make one! Personally, out of the two models I've done, Mondial Revolution (Psyclone at Canada's Wonderland), and a small 10 or 12 seat Moser Rides model (not sure of the name) at Galaxyland Park in the West Edmonton Mall, I'd pick the Mondial ride hands down. Both rides were intense, but the Mondial version, due to it's larger size/swing arc felt a whole lot smoother. The other model more or less did this ... Felt like I got off an SLC after that one

La Ronde Discussion Thread

^Well, guess it's different for everyone. The last time I went (2014), was with a larger group. We tried to see if there was any discounts/group deals available. Took about half an hour. Member of my group told me that when they tried it at Canada's wonderland a few years before it only took them 5 minutes to get things sorted out. Anyway, not trying to argue over how bad the language barrier is at the park. Like others have said, I think we can all agree that the park is just too slow with their operations in general, ^^ Thanks for clearing that up about Cobra & SM. I'd imagine if an RMC is to come to the park, however unlikely it may be, I think the first thing that would shut down is monster, then possibly SM. Not sure why Cobra would be removed unless it's to make room for Mason Rouge. -
Ride You Felt Was Unsafe?
canadianparkfan replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Any ride at a carnival. Same here, carnivalS are always sketchy. I Don't really have a home park close to me though, so I'm always up to take a little risk whenever the carnies roll into town and set up shop! Plus, if the show owns one, who can turn down a ride on a zipper? Looks super run down, but one of the best flats I've done -
La Ronde Discussion Thread
canadianparkfan replied to Skyscraper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ ^As someone who visits quebec fairly often, & has been to la ronde a fair number of times over the last few years, I think the main problem is the fact that nearly all the employees there speak broken English. How are you supposed to deliver good customer service at a park with a bilingual group of guests if you can only speak just one language? Worse still, I'm not sure how they'll fix this problem. Everyone working customer service at that park seems to be high school/college students looking for some quick cash from a summer job, so you can't really expect all of them to be perfectly bilingual. Anyway, bad service aside, really hoping by the time you visit it'll be LR's term to get an RMC. I could see them doing some pretty crazy "twisted colossus-esque" stuff with Le Monstre. I heard some rumors a few posts back about Super Manage and Cobra being removed (might've read the thread wrong?). Unless Super manage is being removed for Mason Rouge, I'm hoping this is to make room for the possible "Iron/twisted Monster". -

If you really wanna get technical, one could argue Fury's the tallest coaster without a launch, or in other words, the world's tallest (traditional) coaster. -
