Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

Either way, with all this land clearing, and now some kind of heavy machinery arriving, I'd be very surprised if we didn't see some sort of large addition next year. Another good point was brought up on CWmania. As of now, skyrider's plot of land hasn't been filled with grass, or anything as of yet. If they weren't planning on using it anytime soon, you think they'd have laid down some kind of grass or turf by now. -

^^Now I'm really curious as to what's going on with that land clearing. If cranes are about to arrive, it must be a big enough project. ^Google maps doesn't show leviathan, however if you have an iPhone or iPad, the default map app shows it. -

^Really hoping/praying this is true. Six flags has done some truly amazing stuff with RMC, even despite the fact they're... Well, six flags Can't even imagine what other parks/chains will start doing once they get working with RMC. -

Granted, but WC constantly has 3 hour waits, and TC never duels. I wish my home park would build a strata coaster that's actually reliable and provides a long (longer than the 30 second ones out there now), intense ride. -

Found it, but don't see anything on there about people talking to employees about anything for 2016 -

^Interesting too bad there's no updated pic. Also best to hear about those comments on the cwmania FB page. Haven't looked at the page myself yet. -

^^Very good points, but I still see RMC & CW Eventually Working together (two non six flags parks have bought RMCs). Also, wouldn't outlaw run (one of the better RMCs) be more an out and back coaster? Plus, I seem to remember Alan saying how he actually found different ride types/situations actually force the company to come up with better/more innovative ride designs. ^EDIT: If six flags is in fact the only chain that's doing RMC remakes, let's at least hope they get around to all their parks so that A: La Ronde will eventually get one (maybe something TC-Esque) and B: So RMC might be freed up for other chains such as CF once SF is finished all their remakes. -
What's your favorite Flat ride?

^This question may have been answered already, but what makes the s&s scream'n swings so much better than the frisbee type rides? Seems to me like the spinning on the frisbees would add to the experience. As someone who's been on a few frisbee rides, but no scream'n swings, I just don't get what makes the s&s rides so great lol. -

^I also think it's a little unlikely, however, we also never thought Wonderland would build a hyper as well as giga (first B&M giga to boot). Also makes sense for them to get the RMC done this next year to beat out la ronde (if they decide to build an RMC for their 50th aniversery in 2017). Additionally, the land clearing may not be for an RMC at all. The skyrider replacement could simply be interacting with minebuster. -

Renanin sounds cool, and a little similar to the other two B&M names. Only issue they might have is that it sounds a little too much like CPs "new" ride (yes, I know it's in a different park, but the ride at CP did actually get some attention up here in Canada, so us never know). -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
canadianparkfan replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Rode a KMG freak out (operated by Campbell Amusements) at a carnival the other day, and now it looks like I'll be re arranging my top flats for sure! While it wasn't quite as extreme as I expected, the ride itself was just ridiculously fun, while still feeling relatively intense. The fact the seats face inward, letting you see everyone else on the ride while still allowing you to feel pretty exposed with the "inverted" style seats is definetly a highlight. Unlike the outward facing models, you get a sense of sharing the ride, especially if you go with a larger group. In addition, the ride (probably also due to the inward facing seats) seems to spin a lot faster (about 2x the speed) than the other frisbee/pendulum rides I've done. The extra spin really helps to add to the intensity, and gives it a much different feel than other rides like it IMO. With that being said, I've also heard many good things about technical park's version, street fighter. A few have actually said the technical park ride is better than KMG's freak out. Unfortunately, never been on one myself, so can't compare. Anybody here done both? -

^Well, considering CW's last two major coasters didn't have inversions, I'm pretty sure the next one will. -

^People have said that name might be for the proposed new coaster at CP, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's for CW's new addition either. -

Time Warp (or Tomb raider as it started) is still quite new in terms of when it opened. In fact before Behemoth and Leviathan I think it was the last new ride to be installed (correct me if I am wrong). Do parks like Wonderland have a timeframe of how long to keep a ride after installing? I can't see a "wing coaster" coming if Cedar fairs policy is to not double up on rides they have at Cedar Point. Maybe the trick to guessing what is coming is to think what they don't have at CP and then apply it to CW. When people talk about a ride with inversions...are they talking a Banshee, Montu type ride?...or something else? Just curious. Not sure CF is trying to keep CW and CP different. Just look at Leviathan, it's essentially a shortened Millenium Force. -
Not a diehard anime fan, but I've watched Afro samurai, code Geass... Oh, and there's also that one I'm kinda ashamed to say I watched (Elfen Lied ). Currently watching Attack on Titan, and I'd say it's by far my favourite one. It's just so much more intense than the others!

Granted, but due to the lack of rain/boiling heat, all the rides overheat and break down! I wish that my home park's next coaster was a kick-ass TOGO ultra twister, in a massive show building, with the entire ride being themed to anime (preferably Attack on Titan or Code Geass).
