  1. ^Lol I actually don't enjoy super loops all too much myself (the hangtime seems really unnerving... possibly because I've only done the portable versions where you can't always trust the restraints lol). However, that being said, a giant one would just look pretty damn cool, and sooner or later, a park probably will build one. Why they haven't already, I don't know. The park models are only about 10-20' taller, which IMO really doesn't make sense, and it's not like they don't have the technology to build a larger one (just look at their hubless wheels and how huge they can get!). Now, on a slightly different note (but not completely off topic). I remember reading a few years back that Larson had plans for a wingrider super loop in addition to the giant one that started this thread. Haven't found any info on it anymore. Anyone know if the plans for this are still in the works?
  2. I agree. A massive larson loop would be pretty cool, and the wheel/loop combo sounds fun too (if possible lol). As for the subject of these things being called "coasters", I don't consider them as such, but every ride op/carny I've spoken to does
  3. ^Cw had a looping ship a while back called Jet Scream. I believe the looping models were made by Intamin (Don't think they produce them anymore though). The newest installation I've heard of was the ACME Rocket at SFOT. In regards to the morey' pairs loose, you said the Sea Dragon was replaced with a Chance model. But aren't the sea dragon rides already made by chance? Is the new ride (Riptide) an updated version? Anyway, didn't expect this thread to receive so much traffic! Guess since nearly every park's got a swinging ship, everyone's got something to contribute .
  4. ^ I get that the picture above is NOT a rendering of "Ziz" for CW,.. HOWEVER, whenever I picture what Ziz will look like, it looks near identivle to that (Hell, it's even got the mountain & the windseeker in the background ).
  5. ^Well, seems like there's definitely enough room for a station of a large coaster in that spot. Can't be 100"% sure a coaster's gonna replace Skyrider next year, but I don't really see too many other reasons as to why they'd rip the whole ride out if they weren't replacing it with a decently sized attraction. Anybody got any pics of early behemoth construction/it's site before construction started to compare with these shots? On another note, anybody rode slingshot yet? I'm real curious to see how that turns out... Finally don't have to make the 10 hour trek to la ronde to ride one of these things!
  6. Aren't the sea dragon ships essentially the park model of the Chance Pharaoh's Fury? If so, as I stated before, I agree, those are great rides. The trailer mounted versions seem to be the best IMO. Combine combine the minimal restraints the chance models have with the slightly outa control/rickety feeling you get on traveling rides, and it just makes the airtime seem that much better.

  8. ^Well, hoepfully it goes the way of behemoth... no grass laid down in that spot is a good sign!
  9. What about Leviathan? How soon did the fenced off area for the station near the go karts appear? I was there in June of 2011 and remember it being there.
  10. Was inspired to write this thread after seeing the swinging ship at a local carnival that sets up here every year around this time. The model at they had set up was the Pharoh's Fury (by Chance), and found it a lot more intense than any other version I'd done (ie. Huss). Anyway, not sure if this belongs in some other flat ride thread, but thought I'd ask what the other TPR members' opinions were.
  11. Gee, seems like this place has really turned itself around! Weren't they the same place that owned this crazy (and sketchy) contraption a few years ago?
  12. All the kids will want one! Gee, that's dark... Really dark... Almost... Too dark *coug* Banshee *Cough* Even worse, that leaves CW with the ever boring, un-intimidating name of "ziz" for their next coaster *sigh*
  13. If that's what I think it is (Thrill lift), I really hope it gets builtinto a coaster at a park someday. Always thought they were cool in RCT3
  14. While watching the Boston Marathon earlier today, you couldn't stop thinking about Wicked Cyclone/SFNE.
  15. How are the restraints compared to the SFDKversion for anyone who's done both? Also, does the stretched layout make a difference?
  16. ^NO!! It is NOT cool! .. It's **WICKED** Can't wait to see this bad boy up & running! Hopefully it has lots of
  17. Intamin will still be better than this. In my opinion, RMC is the reicarnation of arrow given that they always try and push boundaries. I'd say they're the new b&m Overall though, this ride looks Amazing!
  18. ^^Not sure if we have one of the manually braked tilts here in Canada, but until recently, my local carnival had one that always had one or 2 pods spinning far more than the others. I always remember going there on quiet days, being the only one on the ride, and having far better rides than when the fair was crowded.
  19. ^That looks awesome! Can't wait to see this coaster run again. Was always a bit of a guilty pleasure ride for me Sure, it was a bit rough on the helix and final turn, but for the most part, i loved it, with not many other coasters I've done matching its crazy ejector airtime. It's really too bad CW didn't pull a "Rougareau" (yes, I know I butchered that name lol) and put a sit down train on there though. Maybe it could've been a little more enjoyable, and stayed around a few more seasons with some updates. Anyway, here's to hoping whatever replaces skyrider (be it 2016 or '17( does the old ride justice, and is packed with some good forceful elements, this time without the ... Oh, and I almost forgot, it's gotta have
  20. I get that the example at CP is too far back to be part of the trend, however, I could also see them wanting to build a hyper and giga in all their major parks, then keep CP, their flagship park, to be the only one with a strata. Just my two cents though, and I agree that we'd have to see at least one more park do this to say it's a trend that's catching on.
  21. Hey, just noticed that in WordArt on my computer, one of the preset text colours looks exactly like this logo! Who would've thought it'd be in there lol Anyway, my first B&M was Behemoth, at Canada's Wonderland Plenty of
  22. The Chinese wingrider theory seems to make a lot of sense... For the red track anyway. Not sure of the greenish coloured track though
  23. Count me in as one of those hoping this goes to Canada's Wonderland. Not sure what coaster type this could be, but If I had to guess I'd say a wing rider ( ), or possibly something decently forceful, maybe a floorless with some kind of launch? Idk
  24. Just googled the zierer ride you mentioned. Looks really cool, but never seen any parks that have one. Where did you ride it at?
