Recently was browsing youtube and came across this thing! It looks like, to me, anyway, the result of a GIB and a shuttle loop spending some "alone time" together! Another thing that strikes me is that I believe you can build these things in RCT3, so they must be conman (or downright weird) enough for the game developers to have known they exist. Been looking a little on RCDB, but does anyone have any info on this ride whatsoever?

B&M vs Intamin
canadianparkfan replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I haven't ridden so I can't comment individually but this resonates for me. I think B&M are letting parks dictate terms slightly more than they were maybe 6 or 7 years ago so you will see some bigger/more forceful rides but I think most parks know that Intamin are more comfortable pushing the envelope so will naturally go towards them for the more intense rides that enthusiasts seem to prefer. We know that they must (or should) be comfortable making rides as intense as their earlier ones given that they were back then (when they were new), right? That's what I never understood about B&M either. It's almost like they made the first few intense coasters by accident, then said "Sorry folks! We didn't mean to do that; here's a new batch of coasters that are nice and tame for all you GP who will be scared off by something truly intense. But don't worry, you guys running the parks can still market these things as intense, as they still look super intimidating from the ground" In all seriousness though, I really don't see why they didn't just start building family coasters sooner, and keep their large, intense rides cranked up to 11 like they started out with? -
Stand-Up coasters= A failed concept?
canadianparkfan replied to fraroc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As someone who's ridden cobra (Batman Escape clone), I found it was very "meh" compared with the Togo version at CW. CW's standup had far more airtime and positive Gs, whereas Cobra was just plain forceless in some parts. -
B&M vs Intamin
canadianparkfan replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Up here in Canada, we don't have a whole lot of Intamin coasters (well, La Ronde has 2, but one's a kiddie coaster & one's a "meh" standup coaster, so they really don't count in my books lol ). HOWEVER, intamin makes some of the best drop towers I've been on! They're so great IMO, that at CW, I opted to ride their intamin 2nd gen tower about 5x in a row rather than go on the B&M giga less than 100' away. The drop, although shorter than on both B&Ms in that park, is just so much better! -
Tower of Terror - How does it work?
canadianparkfan replied to Leekak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks so much for starting this thread. Never been on TOT, but the ride looks very interesting. In regards to the ride not having a true free fall, how would people who've been on the ride describe the airtime? Would it be similar to what you feel on the S&S turbo drops? -
Worst Coaster Ever?
canadianparkfan replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Definitely would be this: POV (shot by Robb with permission) Offride of it's clone (or possibly same ride but relocated) IMO looks like a made in China ripoff of aSchwarzkoph (think it's actually made in Italy according to RCDB lol). -
Im a pretty skinny guy, and was on a Topscan (end seat) this past summer. Durring the ride, my restraint felt slightly loose, and as fate would have it, I got one of the most intense cycles I've experienced on a flat (and not in a good way). Felt like I'd fly out the whole ride. Ended up with blisters on my hands from death gripping the handles on the OTSRS.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
canadianparkfan replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I remember telling my friend from St. Louis that there was a possibility that the Boss was going to be I boxed with inversions and everything we love about RMC being added. They couldn't stop laughing for about 5 minutes straight. They had no idea I boxing was even possible, and to this day think I box/topper track coasters like outlaw run are faked and photoshopped (even though they can simply drive a few hours to SDC, as they only live a few hours away). -

Anyway, I'm really interested to see if Intamin will step up and challenge RMC in the coaster rehab department..it would be really interesting to see how a rehab by them with pre fav track would go.

^Well, that's probably why Alan came up with the topper/ibox track. It seems Luke too many parks aren't willing tobinvestcin traditional woodies My vote goes to wild beast at Canada's wonderland. It actually provides some airtime, unlike Minebuster (the parks other large woodie), however, it's brutally rough in any row other than the front. It's sad to see the ride be so dead and empty every time I go... You know a ride's bad when even the GP won't go near it! A good retracting, or RMC redo would bring some life back into the ride.

Terrible news. Never really heard of any major security issues at the park before this. In general has anyone noticed that this year's been pretty rough for parks in terms of incidents? It seems worse than previous years IMO. -

^Great park! That reminds me. One of the great (or at least interesting ) things about skyrider, was that it seemed to be the only coaster anywhere, to my knowledge, that you could copy exactly in RCT. -

Rides tend to be removed when they are at the end of their life cycle. That combined with the placement of the coaster probably made SkyRider the obvious choice to go in the minds of management. Makes sense. Flight deck is right next to the front gate, so I'd imagine it was receiving much higher traffic than Skyrider. That being said, I can't wait to see what is placed in Skyrider's location. It'll hopefully look great from the highway/while on Windseeker, and balance out the park's skyline. -

^Agreed. Many people say that flight deck is too popular to remove, however, stand outside the entrance/exit and whatch as people go in and out. People will look at it, think it'll be fun, and come off holding their heads and necks in pain. RARELY does anyone ride twice (at least from what Ive seen). -

Besides the fact of it being obvious, the naming scheme's already been messed up. I've previously read that Leviathan was supposed to be Behemoth's name, and once the second B&M was built, leviathan was more of a recycled name. -

Almost always been stapled when I've rode leviathan. The time or 2 I wasn't was amazing, but I can't really compare as I haven't done it enough times unstapled. As for drop tower, it's consistsntly given great airtime for me, and it's the only ride in the park with a good enough drop to give me the "heart in your throat" feeling on the way down. I remember riding it for the first time (immediately after riding Behemoth), and being shocked it delivered so much more airtime than the B&M I rode earlier that day. In regards to project Ziz, I really don't care what we get, as long as it's intense and forceful. Something that does justice to the wildly intense ride that it'll be replacing (minus the rough spots & occasional head banging ). -

^^^No, they don't have any Intamin coasters, HOWEVER,one of the best rides in the park, Drop Tower, is an Intamin. I'd actually say it's a better ride, at least airtime/drop wise, than any of the coasters at CW IMO (including Behemoth and L306). In addition, now that skyrider's met its demise ( ), I'd say Drop Tower has the best airtime in the park. -

All I have to say is it would be pretty ironic if CF put in a B&M invert at CW, as they were the one's who prevented it in the first place. Sadly, I believe it's 20 years too late. B&M went soft a while ago IMO (yes, I know about Banshee), and unless CW REALLY wants an intense coaster, I'm pretty sure La VAmpire will hold the title of best B&M in Canada. -

Hell, I'd be happy if CW managed to buy Le Vampie (BTR Clone) off of La Ronde. They could market it as flight deck: the 2nd mission, or some kind of reboot of the ride. It'd probably be more forcefull than any new B&M they get, and possibly would take lines out of the origonal flight deck (maybe that'd get them to tear it down?) lol Seriously though, a good forceful looper would be huge for the park IMO. -

^Well, we could be getting an RMC in that case, and given the sky theming (if name is Ziz, or simply an homage to Skyrider), we could see the second RMC to ever use blue track! (ironically another homage to Skyrider, as it was a world's second coaster when it opened). Seriously though, an RMC may be very unlikely in the near future, HOWEVER, I definitely see it happening someday. It would do so much for the park and the chain . Here's some records/titles CW &/or CF could. Claim if an RMC gets built: -Canada's longest/tallest/fastest woodie/hybrid -Canada's only inverting woodie -Most inversions on a woodie -Could potentially start RMC boom in chain (similar to how CF is buying a crapton of B&Ms right now) -Possibility of a worlds first element -Most woodies in Canada (possibly most in 1 park anywhere in the world?) Finally, keep in mind that CW is probably going to eventually end up racing la ronde to get the country's first RMC if SF plans to put an RMC in all their parks -

I believe we'll see one of three things: 1: B&M's answer to helix/blue fire, with at least two launches & multiple inversions. 2: World's tallest dive machine, also taking the record for inversions (*possibly* worlds only standup dive machine?) 3:B&M will sit this one out, & CW will either catch onto the Mack launcher or RMC craze (Maybe not Mack, but I could see RMC, as by then six flags may be saturated with them, meaning Le Monstre may be Canada's first RMC, & CF will eventually start working with RMC at some point IMO) OR **Highly unlikely** by large construction project, they mean they're redoing that entire side of the park doing the splash stuff next year, B&M in 2016, & RMC redo of Minebuster in 2017 (HIGHLY unlikely, but possible, as the park has stated this project could take a few years). Anyway, whatever we get, it's going to be MASSIVE -
Vekoma's MK1212
canadianparkfan replied to coasterschile's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^That coaster looks great! However, can't help but notice that ever since the Mauer Skyloop came out, everyone's been copying that design (Premier, SUF, & now Vekoma)
