Seriously wouldn't mind if it was sent to Dorney, as the coaster would still be within driving distance of me. However, seeing as it's in the chain, and CW put the ride up for sale, I doubt that'll happen. What I'm personally hoping for is that this might mean a new park is starting up somewhere in Canada, & they'll buy it. If not, I at least hope it'll stay in the country, and be sold to one of the smaller parks... Maybe the ones on the east or west coast? (ie. Sandspit park, PEI, or Playland, Vancouver). In the last few years too many of my favourite rides have been sold to the states from up here in Canada -
Entertaining, funny ride ops.
canadianparkfan replied to GivenOneChance's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If have to say the ride ops at Worlds finest Shows based in Ontario. They've done countless amazing things over the years, and really respect enthusiasts. Here's just a few things they've done: -Given double/tripple long rides, most notably the 10 minute Zipper ride, where they lined up the cage to cause it to constantly spin. -Letting people on rides for free -Being entertaining/pumping up the crowd in line -Giving private tours of the midway before it opens, and opening rides as early as they are allowed to. Keep in mind these are simply carny ride ops, not well paid permanent park employees... Pretty kicka$$ if you ask me! -
Best Drop Ride!!!
canadianparkfan replied to coaster_shorty's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^The large car/ring of seat makes me think it'll be a little less forceful. Think the intamin gyro drops vs. The second gens. The smaller second gen cars seem to provide a more forceful drop. -

I actually think it'll stay in Canada. I'm thinking either Vancouver's Playland, or Callaway PPark in Calgary. -

^I've actually been thinking about a new launcher at CW myself. However, I believe it would be a launched woodie. I could possibly see RMC doing this, and with CW being the test park as I've stated before, I could see them adding a world's first attraction such as this, possibly taking the record for most inversions on a wodie while they're at it. While I imagine we'll see something from B&M next, as I've heard rumours on CWMania (nothing confirmed) that B&M staff were on site, and that the new B&M will most likely take up the space in the middle of the park where skyrider stood, It'd be amazing to see a launched/terain woodie from RMC in that spot, interacting with the lake, vortex, and the forest near WWC. Something like this That being said, no matter what we get, I can totally see it looking absolutely stunning given it's location right in the middle (and IMO the most beautiful area) of the park. -

Well, whatever we get, that "preparing forfuture enjoyment" sign means it'll be big. Last time it was there, we got Leviathan. IMO, no matter what we get, it should be great!. The lake, woods, and grassy hillside, surrounded by the rest of the park, is a perfect setting for a coaster. -

^i personally find it to be a trade off... The coaster section, and view going up the lift are far superior in the back IMO, but you're completely right about the dark ride portion. -

This is a stupid conversation. WMG has a lift followed by a five foot-ish drop. That's the only "coaster" part of the ride. It actually isn't though. Park management has gone record to call this a coaster based off the fact that everything inside the mountain is gravity driven. I agree, it is a very grey area in regards whether it's a coaster/credit or not, but the park and other sites are referring to WMG as a coaster. The one thing the ending does have over other rides as well, it's the tallest of it's type of finale. It is about 30ft. Though that may not sound like a lot on paper it is definitely a great thrill. Yeah, really enjoyed the ending. A lot better than I expected to be! -

^^Totally agree with you on Leviathan. Personally find leviathan a lot better in the front... Far better airtime IMO. Pretty surprised to hear what you thought of Behemoth and drop tower. I personally find Behemoth to have much better airtime, and sitting in the back, the turnaround, while not all too forceful, feels really cool. As for drop tower, I'd actually rank it near the top of all the towers I've done, and find I got more air than on the ARM/Larson Towers. That's just my two cents though, and overall, great TR!... Hope you return in 2016 for whatever we get! -
Worst Ride Name
canadianparkfan replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Tickler is a god awful name. Me an my friend joke that we're waiting for "The Molester" to come out. Even worse still, pretty sure there was an incident involving a molester on a similar coaster (forget where) . As for horrible ride names, I'd have to say anything named "coaster"... Really?. Think of a better name! -
Don't worry, their rides are reportedly very intense. I believe the point of the "no high g inversions", assuming it's true, is you're limited in how strongly you can support a track with wood when the train is running underneath it. You need a lot of bracing if the train's going to be pushing up hard on the track from below, and obviously the support can't come from directly beneath it. (Notice how on steel coasters, the individual support beams are all much thicker.) As long as you're not talking about an inversion, their elements can be as high G as they want. Think both you and Woodie warrior have great points. I have a feeling RMC's first all steel coaster will be even more intense... Hell, just look at LR (Didn't Alan have a hand in designing that one?).

canadianparkfan replied to PCW_Nut's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Always found this strange, but I've noticed that a lot of the ride ops at carnivals/small parks know a lot more and are a lot more personable than employees at most big parks... Personally, I don't even bother talking to the ops at bigger parks. -
I still can't get over the fact that, although RMC said they wouldn't do any high G Maneuvers, many people still regard their rides as some of the best. Then again, I haven't rode an RMC before, so I GUESS can't judge, butstill. Maybe it's just me... I know I like my rides pretty intense. Not trying to troll/start a flame war here, just genuinely curious.

Goodbye Skyrider. So glad I was able to ride this great coaster in it's last season. Orange train, crazy unexpected ejector air over the 1st drop, that no other row could give. Hopefully whatever replaces the Japanese airtime machine delivers just as great forces. R.I.P. Skyrider. -

^I personally don't care.. I'm just happy they know the name of the ride to be perfectly honest Now, physically showing discomfort is whenever I ride something with crazy ejector airtime, and half the GP coming off the ride say that they "didn't know it was allowed to have rides let you come outa your seat". That's just sad -

^Well, now that you've explained it, I guess It'd have to be an entrance road, not an entrance to the actual park. As for Mamaba, yes, I believe this will be part of the splash works editions, and that Rougarou will be the name of their new coaster in 2016. -

Well, maybe this new entrance is gonna be near the back or side of the park in order to accommodate for more crowds. As for the name, i still say Rougarou will be what they use. I know the olympic venue thing is stupid, but I'm going with something that starts with "R" is a gut feeling. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
canadianparkfan replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Even worse... People just simply ask in the youtube comments section on TPR onride POVs, "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..... THAT RIDE looks SOOOOOOOOOOO SCAAAAARRRRRRYYYY!.... How THE HELL DO U NOT SCREAM???" Even worse when it's on videos of really forceless, boring rides like wingriders  -
As someone who's been on both, I can say that the main reason skyscreamers trump windseekers is the fact that the skyscreamers simply have a better program and run faster. on the skyscreamers (at least the ones I've done), the the gondola that holds the swings ascends and descends the tower multiple times, and the ride itself spins faster. However, on the windseeker, the gondola reaches the top, spins, and comes back down... there's less variation, and I believe a shorter ride cycle. As a side note, please don't take my view on the windseeker as how i view all flats made by Mondial. Mondial is a great company, and I can proudly say that their top scan is tied for #1 int he list of my fav flats with the chance zipper. However, the windseeker is one ride they completely screwed up with

^Funny you mention that. Even though WC looks like the better ride, WC is in fact the one that comes across as sorta "meh"/missing something... However, with TC, I just can't stop thinking of that "Top Gun Stall" over the other track section I also feel that the coasters will look a lot better in the flesh (or in this case, wood and steel ). I've never liked the recent six flags animations... In particular the TC one... Seriously?, the whole trademark six flags apocalyptic clouds/sunset... But with totally un-fitting music?!?!??... Total fail
