  1. I've heard that the Fabri versions are even better. They've a very similar ride, but use a pneumatic system to launch the car downward, similar to the s&s turbo drops. Not sure if anybody here's done one. From what I know,Thorpe Park's Detonator's a a Fabri model, and the traveling models here in North America are known as the Mega Drop.
  2. ^Exactly. The "history" of the last 5 years was Leviathan and Windseeker. Roughly 7 years ago, we got Behemoth. The new flats next year and coaster in 2017 make a lot of sense, and are both additions I am greatly looking toward to.
  3. I know what your talking about. Remember last year at IAAPA, Chance rides said they'd be starting to make modernized versions of their old rides. Could see something like that happening in the near future I'm not too sure if I'd enjoy it as much, though. The open concept pods like ones found on the Unicoaster from Chance (Modernized Rock'n'Roll) look cool, but on the zipper, where a big part of the ride is the crazy airtime and weird forces you get, the OTSRs they use would probably just be really painful. If they could put some kind of overhead lap bar (Sorta like the new b&m restraints?) that'd be perfect. Either way, if they ever built one, I'd definetly give an open concept/updated zipper a go.
  4. I actually find the front row of Vampire to be more intense. Back row's more fun though!
  5. I've had airtime on zippers (and other flats) that rivals most coasters I've been on. ...not sure if that says something about how good the flat rides I've done are, how forceless the coasters near me are, or both
  6. Volcano still got added though... Albeit 20 odd years late
  7. ^^^^Again, it's CF. since when is theming a priority? If you really wanna wait/hope guardian gets completed, you could always prey that Wonderland pulls a Marineland (they took 20 years to eventually finish the theming on Dragon Mountain) ^^^Couldnt agree more. This is another reason I'm so pumped for SkyHawk. It's something that everyone can ride. It can be a Windseeker-style, relaxing flight, or a crazy-intense balls to the walls experience (AKA flat ride heaven lol).
  8. ^Its CF.. What'd you expect when they said they were building a dark ride? As for next year's additions, the Eagles look fun, and I'm SUPER pumped for skyhawk. Just checked out a few crazy YouTube videos of those Sky Roller rides at other parks, and they look like a ton of fun... UNLIMITD BARREL ROLLS HERE I COME!
  9. Extra height could be due to the hill it's sitting on.
  10. Goodbye Canada's first and only Dive Coaster
  11. The name of the coaster is Valravn, so perhaps they are thinking about retheming because ravens are supposed to bring, you know, death. This is the most ridiculous situation, and the Roller Coaster Capital of the World doesn't need this. So so so so so frustrating. Well, 20 years ago, CP ended up going with Mantas instead of Banshee, and as far as I know, that was simply because of how 'dark/edgy" the Banshee name was, and had nothing to do with any particular incident at CP or CF. Now that something has actually occurred, and so close to the announcement no less, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they're postponing the announcement to rename/retheme the ride.
  12. ^This Thoughts are with the family of the victim.
  13. Steel: Leviathan Wood: Le Monstre
  14. ^Agreed. I even know people in places like just outside of Ottawa or up in northern Ontario who make day trips to wonderland. Personally believe we'll be seeing a Minebuster "coaster rework" (AKA RMCing) as the next big expansion/development after "Ziz". Already heard rumours of Ghostrider at Knott's being RMCed in the near future, so if that plan comes to fruition, I'm willing to bet Minebuster would also be on the list.
  15. Personally thinking that's gonna be for our launcher in 2017. Reminds me of what holiday world did with Thunderbird, but on a smaller scale.
  16. Looks like a pretty serious accident, however, could've been worse. Some models don't have the cage around the riders. I always thought the cage was a good idea for this very case. Regardless, hope the riders have a quick recovery.
  17. It's because of people like that we have the "forceless" b&ms we do today
  18. Key words: **Wheb the App Becomes available**.... Anybody have a jailbrokrn phone/leaked app?
  19. A while back I remember seeing testing of VR done on another B&M (Goliath at La Ronde). It got me thinking... Maybe B&M is making these "forceless" designs on uprpose? Maybe it's all leading to something like this new Dive Coaster at CP. if it works here, I have a feeling they'd possibly be able to implement their VR tech on pre existing coasters. Just a wild guess, but who knows.
  20. ^There's also NL2, where it really doesn't cost much to make a layout in.
  21. I wouldn't call dark ride "disappointing". It would definetly be different for CL, and I'm sure a lot of fans and GP would appreciate something like a dark ride-coaster hybrid over another "meh" b&m.
  22. Not sure if its real or not, but personally think this would be better suited to CW. At a park like CP, this layout just seems "meh" to me.
  23. EXTREMELY UNLIKELY, but I believe a restored/revamped Zipperwould be a great ride to have! Would totally make up for CW's coaster getting delayed if we got one of those for 2016
  24. I have a feeling your wish will be granted when CW gets their next coaster. Could totally see something like that being built in the former stand up's spot. As for CP, I believe they'll be going for either height or speed, plus Agee new elements.
