That One Ride You Just Can't Enjoy...
canadianparkfan replied to HAZE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Used to think flight deck was alright about 5 years ago, but last season I rode it and it was unbearable. I'd also agree with you on time warp. A ride ill probably get bashed for disliking, is actually Vortex at CW. Everyone says it's a great ride, but personally, I just find it rough... I always enjoyed the ride across the lake, the now defunct Skyrider (a ride most seemed to dislike) a lot more. Then again, I haven't been on vortex in about 5 years though, so maybe I'll have to give it another go. -

Almost looked like RMC track... Really sketchy RMC track. -

Not going to lie.. That launch looks pretty impressive!! But the part where you go from rolling backwards, to going back forwards again looks like it would be a little uncomfortable. Regardless still awesome!! That part, along with the launch, almost looked fake -

Backyard Rides

I agree. If I were to get a ride in my backyard, I'd probably choose something along the lines of a zipper, tilt a whirl etc. Something that's got great re rideability, and doesn't take up too much space. -

No but if your lucky you might get given a TV remote so it feels like your on a real couch! Exactly! I can see it now... Fitting for an American-made ride too! -
This. The first time I said the words "upstop wheels" my buddy stopped me and said "This isn't stuff you learn from liking roller coasters and browsing a few websites, this is like years and years acquiring knowledge." I explained more about what they are and he lightened up to really understanding it all soon after, but it was funny nonetheless. He actually also has an account on here with no posts under "BlackbeardsLTT" after I explained Boldikus' love (and mine) for Skull Mountain, he wanted to revolutionize his own cult following. As for the topic at hand, I can't say I've "converted" anybody into an enthusiast, however, I've definetly got a few friends who, if at a park/carnival, will ride everything I do... The rest of the group just thinks we're crazy

Home park (Canada's Wonderland) is about 2-3 hours away. Only go once or twice per year; this year I didn't make it out there at all. May be closer in the next few years, and with a bunch of great new additions coming soon (some confirmed, some not *cough* CP stole our big one *cough*), I'll hopefully get there more in the future.

Any advice for a college student making a little extra cash to head to a further park? Most likely it'll be CP, which is about 5 hours away from me. Any ways to make it a cheaper trip?

Granted, but then your tuition quadruples in cost, and your meal plan costs $100 000. I wish my home park got the first TRex Track RMC coaster in 2017. -
Can I please put this in my signature? It's incredible. Also: Isn't El Toro the epitome of a wooden coaster with crazy airtime? Unless you're referring to older wooden coasters with buzz bars or those random pops of airtime from funky design. I'm not a mod, but sure, go ahead and put it on ur profile if you want

I would use a meme like the ones I posted, however, no picture I use from my phone works on this site.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa now. Let's not lose our minds here. Even as the founder of the Cult of Skull/Skank Mountain I take offense to this statement. I was just playin. Toro is bae, and I worked as a ride op with her all summer so I'd be lost without her. Fortunately we live in a beautiful world where Toro and the Mountain are a short walk apart! The Cult of Skull should have a meetup and marathon it one of these days, just sayin'. 20th anniversary bash maybe???

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
canadianparkfan replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I've been at parks with terrible woodies (I'm looking at you, CW), and started the "RMC" Chant while pulling into the station a few times. As for my biggest pet peeve with the GP, it can be summed up here: WHO GIVES A F*** IF IT GOES UPSIDEDOWN!! -

Granted, but they all get RMCed, and turned into steel coasters I wish I had a home park that was closer to me than 2hrs away.
