  1. ^ ... And replacing it with an RMC. I wish. That was there for a reason.
  2. The park is so beautiful...! It's such a shame that Dubai is too expensive, because I'd give anything to be able to go back!
  3. I've only ridden some of their zyklon Galaxy coasters. I think they're fine. Nothing special, but they're pretty good for smaller parks. I think their XP56's look really promising rides, though. Below there's a POV of one in the Philippines, and needless to say, it looks great! Not to mention how smooth it looks! I actually was at that park, but the ride was closed down (Because Tsunami at M&D's exists... ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IzJmrv-3cQ The RC70 (Tornado at m&d's) though looks awful.
  4. Thread's been pretty quiet for the past few months. Has there been any update on Dodonpa?
  5. On Pakal at Mirabilandia (I'm sorry, Gold Digger (I hate that new name)) the brakes hit so hard, they had to put a sign up over the brake run saying "Warning: Strong braking ahead!"
  6. Everyone knows Pinfari as probably the worst non-Chinese roller coaster manufacturer of all time. Whilst that may be true for their older models, towards their last years of their life as a manufacturer, they released two coaster models which were far better than what they previously produced: The Mini Mega and the XP56 inverted coaster. Although they're nothing special, they were still much smoother than anything they've ever made before, and some people will probably say that they're pretty good rides. So I was thinking: Could Pinfari have become a good manufacturer if it still was still around today, considering the changes they were making around the time of their bankruptcy? I mean, think how great it would've been if they managed to pull off a smooth version of M&D's Tornado?
  7. This thread is really something. Robb, I personally think it's a shame you had to let trips go because of a few bad apples. But then again, I don't think I'll ever be able to handle it at all if I were in your place. When I read comments on your videos, I always see people who criticize you on your channel for "overreacting" to some idiot comment's response (haters gonna hate, amirite?), but only now I've realized that it takes a special kind of self-control to not react like that, especially when you have to deal with this kind of stuff constantly. Both on YouTube and on the forum. I'm glad though that you're not letting that get in the way and you're still having fun with TPR and I guess that's what the site is all about. But seriously, that guy who attacked Kristen (for no sensible reason, too) was really disgusting. You did well to ban him. And that's the FIRST time I've ever said anything like that on this forum. Stay awesome!
  8. Gardaland pls... At least they're one step ahead of Mirabilandia. Instead of just slapping VR on a coaster, they're at least retheming it.
  9. 1. What is the name of your home park? I technically have two, and they're both in Jeddah: -Atallah Happy Land Park -AlShallal Theme Park The first is closer to me, but the second I visit more frequently. 2. Do you own a coaster related T-shirt? -No, but I wish I did. 3. Do you enjoy Vekoma SLCs? I've only ridden one, Gardaland's Blue Tornado, and it's the worst coaster on my list. However, I'm pretty confident the newer ones are much better (Energylandia's Roller Coaster Mayan is an example.) 4. Name the first 3 coasters that come to mind. Katun and iSpeed at Mirabilandia Oblivion - The Black Hole, Gardaland. 5. One park you would definitely never go back to is... No idea. My closest bet is probably Sky Ranch in Tagaytay (Philippines), since there's really nothing to it other than a spectacular view. You go there once, grab your two credits, enjoy the view, then leave. 6. Have you ever ridden a drop tower taller than 200 feet? -I've ridden two: Mirabilandia's "Twin Towers" (now known as "Oil Towers (crap name if you ask me)) And London Winter Wonderland's Hangover. The latter is the best one I've been on. 7. What is your favorite roller coaster? Katun at Mirabilandia. Even after riding Formula Rossa I still haven't managed to find something more intense than that monster. 8. When you go to a park three things you must have with you are... -Enough money to buy a Flashpass and food -Your own water bottle -Phone/camera 9. How many times did you visit your home park last season? I don't go to Atallah much since they have this stupid "Families Only" Policy, which is predictable since it's Saudi Arabia. Actually, I think I've only gone to Atallah once or twice last year. 10. The first Intamin coaster you rode is... Mirabilandia's Divertical. 11. Have you ever spent an entire day at a park alone? Nope. 12. The independent park you go to the most is... If by "independent park" you mean a park that isn't a chain park, I'd say AlShallal Theme Park. 13. Does B&M or Intamin make better hyper coasters? I haven't ridden any, so I can't say. 14. If it was free, what upcharge ride what you jump on right now? Slingshot, hands down. 15. What is the best food at your home park? Ehhhhhhhh...... no. The food they serve is utter rubbish, so nothing. I usually just eat Burger King once I leave, which is right across the road. 16. The name of the worst GCI you've ridden is... I still haven't ridden a woodie. 17. When you're not riding something at your home park where are you? Wandering aimlessly around the park, because the only time I don't ride rides in parks here in Saudi is when there is Salah (prayer time) and all the rides close down for 15-30 minutes. This happens five times a day. (UUUUUGGGGHHH...) 18. Favorite water ride in a dry park (flume, rapids, etc) Shoot the Chute rides, bruh. 19. Do you get your photo taken with park mascots? Not anymore, but I used to a lot when I was little. 20. Name one personal item you've lost at a park. I can't think of anything so far. 21. Name of the worst B&M invert you're ridden is... Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park. Only one of two I've ridden. (Guess the other one!) 22. Name your favorite steel coaster under 125 feet tall. Hands down, Olympia Looping, 23. Name your favorite coaster/ride manufacturer? It's a tie between Intamin and B&M, although Mack and Vekoma are close, too. 24. What waterpark have you visited most often? Acquapark Onda Blu, in Tortoreto, Italy. 25. The name of the fastest wooden coaster you have ridden is... ...none... 26. What is the name of the flat ride you've ridden the most? I'd say the Terminator at Atallah Happy Land Park, it's a Soriani and Moser Top Spin-like ride, but a lot more forceful. 27. Name a ride-related injury you have suffered. Does a headache caused by Blue Tornado count? 28. Favorite Halloween event at a park? Never been to a park during Halloween (Here in Saudi they don't celebrate it ) 29. Name the most recent Arrow ride or coaster you've been on... None. 30. Name of your favorite ride that never leaves the ground (safari, train, bumper cars, etc) Bumper cars it is. 31. What ride makes you laugh the most? I'd say any wild mouse ever. 32. How many RMC's have you ridden? None. *le feels* 33. Best flat that goes over 100 feet is... Either Slingshots or Mondial Turbines. I rode the Blizzard at Winter Wonderland and it packed an enormous punch. 34. When you are on your way to your home park what is one worry that you might have? That I may encounter prayer times just as I arrive. 35. Favorite park that is NOT your home park is ___________. Thorpe Park. 36. How many different parks did you go to last season? About five... Sad, I know. 37. The indoor coaster/dark ride you ride most often is... Darkmare - Cinecittà World 38. When you spend the day at the park what do you drink all day? Water. 39. The name of the best B&M you've ridden is? Katun 40. Name three other forum members that will fill this out. ehhh... I-uh... *Jumps out window*
  10. A really bad one. It would have taken about two hours to edit the supports and make the track straight. NL2 is not complex, and by the looks of things someone bothered to put more time into background custom scenery. Well, could've been worse. (Looks over at KK)
  11. One thing that I find really interesting is how they'll manage operations. We've seen TERRIBLE operations from SF parks and all, but since this thing has two stations, how is that gonna work? Are they gonna use one station for VR and the other for normal riders? Also something cool I'd love to see would be how they do it when they incorporate that part when the ride crawls through the station to go for the second run. Are they gonna have some sort of cutscene? 'Cause that'd be pretty unique IMO.
  12. Master Thai is actually pretty decent. It's just often ignored because it's tucked away behind Katun.
  13. Honestly, though, I think they did it because they were desperate. Master Thai is a very neglected coaster by the public, and giving it VR would probably give it some attention. At least they're not putting it on a MAJOR coaster like Katun, 'cause if not, I would've lost all faith in them completely. I thought it was pretty decent without VR, but nothing to scream about (pun intended).
  14. Well, guys, It's official... They're sticking VR on Master Thai, their Mobius Loop dueling coaster. If only Gardaland and Rainbow MagicLand hadn't beat them to it already I'd only be half as disappointed as I currently am. (Source: Mirabilandia Live FB page) Oh God, Why?
  15. Snow what now?? I'm sorry, I'm kind of new to this new concept of "snow". What is it about?? <<<<< See here
  16. I doubt Cedar Fair is gonna go anywhere near Intamin, but I'd love to see that too, there.
  17. Hi Larry, Is it OK if I could try and get you some pictures of parks here in Saudi to add to the Park Index? There's a TON of parks here when you count all of the FECs, and I could try to get some pics of some of the rides. (Although I can't guarantee when and if I can actually upload them, because, then again, it IS Saudi Arabia after all.)
  18. Or as I said earlier, Rage (the original to my understanding). From the concept image it does look like it though. It is a good ride, cbut nothing to scream about. It may even have OSTR's like the one in THE UAE. Fixed. I WISH Atallah Happy Land Park could get a Eurofighter, but they can't. Because no one who's a thrill seeker can go there (it's a "Families only" place like pretty much every theme park here)
  19. Just two: World's Fastest Roller Coaster: Formula rossa - Ferrari World World's tallest water coaster: Divertical - Mirabilandia
  20. Yes. Interpark bought all of their designs, and they are still readily available for sale. Unfortunately. Although it would be soo good for a park like this to get a Pinfari XP56 invert. If properly taken care of (looking at YOU, M&D's!), they are some really good, cheap rides!
  21. As for my favorites, I'd say Mirabilandia, Gardaland, Thorpe Park and Ferrari World. Least favorite: Anything with the name "Sparky's entertainment centre" in it. (There's like, 5 of these in Jeddah alone)
  22. Actually, the reason it's smoother is that apparently Zamperla has done some trackwork on TB, and now it rides more smoothly. As for the Volare, they NEED to get the trains sorted out. As they are now, they look like they ride appallingly. There's probably a reason why we don't have any in Italy.
