  1. Great stuff! Swamp Fox looks really good for a ride that's 50 years old! As for the wild mouse, I do agree that the Mack ones are better, but my best one so far was probably Pakal (Now renamed Gold Digger) at Mirabilandia. That thing is very fast paced with some amazing laterals! Theming's alright, too.
  2. Wow! This report is great! Hey, Yin, did you manage to ride the Knock-off S&S towers there? If so, how do they compare to the real ones? (I'm kind of a drop tower fanatic)
  3. I am absolutely loving this TR! About the Efteling fanboys, they remind me a bit of many Gardaland fanboys I see- according to them there is no ride in the world that is better than any ride at Gardaland. (to them: Blue Tornado (Gardaland's Vekoma SLC)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Katun (Mirabilandia's B&M Invert) Either way, there's crappy fanbases everywhere. Just gotta shrug your shoulders and move on. Nothing we can really do. So what countries are you gonna stop by after Holland?
  4. Niagara at Mirabilandia. Love the ride, hate the new name they've given it (El Dorado Falls)
  5. I liked DLP when I went last year, but I have to say, it really left me underwhelmed. When I went with my school trip in June, we couldn't go to the Studios park, which already was a bummer due to the missed credits on ToT, Rock n' Roller Coaster and Crush's Coaster, and when we first got to the park, both BTM and Space Mountain were shut down. BTM reopened later, but apparently, SM wasn't going to open until late July. It was fine, but it left me wanting more. The parade at the end totally made up for it all, though. Can't wait for the rest of the TR! Are you guys gonna go to Italy too? I might be there!
  6. I think mine is Atallah Happy Land's Surfrider. If you want to see more about it, go check out my Theme Parks in Saudi Arabia thread.
  7. Hi, Theo! Last time I've been to the park was in 2014, but things haven't changed much since then except the new Far West Valley themed area. I'll still try and answer as best as I can. 1. Park usually does get pretty busy depending on which month you go on. I went for two days in August and the queues did take quite a bit. Katun tends to have queues around 40 mins or less, so that's an exception, but for iSpeed it used to take over an hour since it can't run more than two trains and has only 12 seats a train. I have no clue about Divertical, since last time I rode it was during opening year in 2012, and in 2014 it was closed due to an accident it had since it stalled after the MCBR didn't slow it down all the way after an emergency stop. The Twin Towers (S&S drop towers) took about an hour each, this year probably more due to the new retheming, and Niagara (the shoot-the-chute) takes about half an hour to 45 minutes. The Ferris Wheel, I have no idea either, since I haven't ridden that thing in ages, but if you're into astounding views of the park and the surrounding countryside and distant beach, feel free to go. 2. There are no single rider lines, although for iSpeed and Katun they do call out for single riders in the line, which has saved me plenty of time, sometimes. 3. In retrospects, I am in love with this new flash pass system. A gold flashpass (lets you go on shorter lines as much as you want on available rides) costs as much as another entrance ticket (35 euros), but it's well worth it since you get to wait for less than half of the main wait time. 4. As long as you have the flashpass, you should be fine, but just in case you don't, as soon as you enter the park (assuming you get in as soon as it opens), head straight for iSpeed, since it's got the longest lines, then feel free to do whatever. Hope this helps, Leo.
  8. Wasn't this the ride they used for the third Wimpy Kid movie as the Cranium Shaker?

  10. The one at Luna Park is a Zamperla and it's much slower than the others.
  11. They REALLY need to bring one of these back. From my viewpoint they look absolutley kickass and it's a cryin' shame that they're probably rusting in some warehouse in Europe. Just watch, for all we know, Dorney will open one Sorry for throwing back an old post, but there is still one operating in Oman. Remember the Pinfari Zyklon in Marah land? Well, they bought Mirabilandia's old Katapult and put it there. I've actually been on it. It's a lot of fun and I enjoyed it, but the restraints are just awful. Some worn-out lapbar mixed with crappy OTSRs? Nope.
  12. Divertical was out of order for half of 2014, and it closed down twice when I went in 2012. Still managed to ride it. Decent.
  13. Rock n' Roller Coaster, perhaps? Nope. they had told me about the Rock n' Roller Coaster beforehand.
  14. I'd sell my unborn child to be able to have one in the U.S. Be careful what you wish for. You never know who's listening. Well, that got spooky quickly.
  15. It's not mandatory, but if you're referring to abayas (the cloaks without the face covers), then yes. All girls have to wear them even on rides. The thing about Burqas (face covers) is that the really conservative women wear them. Some even wear gloves to cover their hands. A lot of girls have to wear Hijabs (headscarf), because religion, and by law, every girl has to wear an Abaya ( in public. One or two really conservative religious policemen (yes, that's a thing. They're called Mutawwas btw) might ask you to cover your head, but I guess a hat counts, too, since my mom just puts one on and then they leave. My mom refuses to wear Hijabs since they're a religious symbol (We're both Catholics and she takes religion kind of seriously) I know I went way too far, there, but hope that answered your question. Just don't stick your neck out for anything and be wary of any coaster with a headchopper.

  17. Yes, yes they do. Quite a lot, too. The thing is that parks are "families only" on most days, which means that if you're a teenager, you need to be with your parents if you want to get in. However, since I'm a guy, I still can't get in if, say, I went with my father since there has to be a female in the group. It's very complicated. They do have ladies only days once a week, but no men only days, because when they last tried it, they completely wrecked a lot of things, so now I can't go without my parents. (Which is why I don't go to parks that much, even though I have one less than 5 minutes away from my house.) As far as the queue lines go, there are separate queues for guys and girls, but they don't implement them here, because it's Jeddah and not Riyadh, and things are relatively lax here. The only ride type that has separate ride cycles is the Tagadas, since, you know, guys could "accidentally" trample on a girl... you know, a lot of guys here (thank God none of my friends really apply to this) are really immature around girls. Maybe it's the fact that the two sexes can't mingle in public and they barely are able to see a lot of girls (also, the vast majority of schools is separate, except for a few private ones including mine). One thing for sure, laws are complicated here.
  18. Anyways, Jeddah would be a credit whore's paradise since there's so many kiddie rides scattered everywhere, pretty much.
  19. This other time, my friend from England told me he went to Orlando, to Disney World. Our conversation, at one point, went a little something like: Friend: I also rode the Space Mountain! I loved how it went upside down! Me: ... You do realize that the Space Mountain in Orlando doesn't go upside down, right? Friend: But I remember it going upside down! Me: Don't you mean the one in Paris? Cause that's the only one out of all of them that has inversions. Friend: No, not in PARIS, in ORLANDO. Then I proceeded to ask both his mom and his sister, and they too said that they remember it going upside down.
