I'm going to be visiting Worlds of Fun on October 14 & 15 (Friday night and all-day Saturday). How busy should I expect the park to be. Would it be worth getting Fast Lane one of the two days? (I won't be getting Fright Lane because I'm not interested in the mazes.) Any other tips for conquering the park?

Just noticed on the park website that RipCord is listed as closed for the season. Do they usually close RipCord late in the season? (Never paid attention to it before.) https://www.valleyfair.com/rides/Thrill-Rides/Rip-Cord

Adventureland and SFGAm ended up not happening since I was too busy working at Valleyfair this summer, but I still have plans to visit Worlds of Fun in October.

I was at NU on Friday, I did notice a little construction going on above the arcade near Atomic Collider, but it doesn't look like it's for a new ride.

Batman: The Ride at Six Flags Great America had some very slow operations in 2014 when I was there. They were running two trains, but with how slowly they were dispatching, I thought they were only running one train until I got to the station and saw that they were stacking every train for at least a few minutes.

Thunderhead could definitely use some retracking. Back in May it was running very rough and left me with a minor headache.

Valleyfair

There's a chance I might be going down to Worlds of Fun on October 14th and 15th (Friday night and Saturday). This would be my first visit to the park. Three questions I have: -How busy should I expect the park to be on those days. Would it be worth getting Fast Lane? -Are any of the coasters closed during Haunt? -On Saturday, does the park close for an hour or so between daytime operation and Haunt?

About a month-and-a-half ago, while I was on my way down to visit the family, I decided to make a slight detour into the Okoboji, Iowa area and visit Arnolds Park for the first time. Despite living not too far from this park for a few years, I never actually bothered to visit it until this past July, but I'm glad I finally decided to give it a try. The park's only major coaster is The Legend, a wooden coaster that was built in 1930 (currently the 13th oldest coaster in the world) and designed by John Miller. A few years ago, it was retracked by GCI, and while I obviously never rode it before the retrack, it looks like it has definitely help the ride because it was one of the smoothest wooden coasters I've been on. I enjoyed the ride itself very much, the buzz-bars allowed for a lot of nice floater air, especially in the back seat. In addition to The Legend, Arnolds Park features a decent collection of small flat rides and kiddie rides, a go-kart track, boat rides on the lake, as well as a museum. The park had a nice old-school vibe, friendly employees, and a great setting along Lake Okoboji. Overall, I had a good time at Arnolds Park, and while I wouldn't say it's worth going out of your way for, if you ever happen to be in the area, it's a good place to spend a few hours. Onto the pictures... Arnolds Park has a very nice entrance. First glimpse at The Legend. The line to get a wristband/tickets. Ready to go. Heading into the park. First ride of the day. Creepy. Heading up the lift hill... ...to The Point of No Return. Up next was the park's log flume, Boji Falls Log Ride. Didn't get very wet, but the final drop was fun. The more I ride log flumes, the more I like them. Rode Roll-o-Plane, which was just plain weird. Their Tilt-a-Whirl runs a pretty crazy program. Lasted for a while and pulled some relatively strong Gs. Time for some more rides on The Legend. Hard to see it, but the text on the fire extinguisher reads "Big Scary Legendary Roller Coaster" Advertising on the train? Must be a Six Flags park. View of their carousel from the station. Lake Okoboji. View of Legend from outside the park. Park was very clean for its size. Kiddie Coaster: What a creative name for a kiddie coaster. One operator at The Legend does everything (check wristbands, check restraints, and control panel), and he did a fairly good job. Rode it 11 times due to nonexistent lines. Granted, but it has more opening season troubles than Lightning Rod. I with coaster/park season didn't have to go by so fast.

...I would make the helix after the airtime hill on Fury a bit tighter than it currently is. That helix is the only real weak point on what's otherwise a phenomenal ride.

Being a ride operator for Wild Thing, I got to ride it alone all the time as the test rider before opening for the day. The other coasters I've been on alone include every other coaster at Valleyfair (except Steel Venom and Cosmic Coaster), Kraken, and Carolina Cyclone.

I prefer the old restraints. Like some others here have said, the new restraints place some unnecessary pressure on my chest which, while tolerable, could be done without. I don't mind moving my head forward to avoid headbanging when needed.
