They've been doing security wanding at the front entrance for at least a week or so, it's probably here to stay. If they ever do give VF a new entrance gate/plaza, I assume they would probably would add metal detectors with it.

I'm at Valleyfair right now and it's currently 90 degrees, pretty hot by Minnesota standards. I've been alternating between going on a few rides at a time (though I don't go on water rides very often because I don't like being wet while wearing regular clothes) and taking a break in an air-conditioned building, all while drinking plenty of water. Means a little less time to ride, but it beats being completely exhausted.

The new lap bars on High Roller at Valleyfair are actually the old Ghostrider lap bars from Knott's Berry Farm.

I'm at Valleyfair pretty much every day now that I work there . I only get to go on rides about twice a week since my work hours are fairly long, but it's a lot more frequently than it used to be.

A few days ago, I noticed that the old Valleyfair entrance sign is still sitting at the back of the employee parking lot. Does that mean it's not too late to give it to some museum?

The trims on Intimidator at Carowinds were biting fairly hard when I rode it. While I still got airtime on the main airtime hills, it was relatively weak compared to Diamondback's air.

I'm currently working as a Rides Associate at Valleyfair on the Wild Thing team. I typically switch between three positions every hour or so: standing at the turnstiles and measuring heights, checking restraints/giving thumbs up, and working the control panel (which is my personal favorite). It can be grueling at times, working in hot weather for long periods of time (worked a thirteen-hour shift today), but for the most part, I enjoy my job. I get to meet a lot of great people, and I get to be at an amusement park every day.

I agree about the Excalibur crew, they've been hilarious lately with jokes and funny spiels. I'd try to say funny stuff when I work controls at Wild Thing, but the P.A. system there isn't very good. Saw some rehearsals for the new All Wheels Extreme show today. Is RipTide ever going to open this season?
