While on the Fury 325 brake run, I heard someone say: "Thunder Road's next!" If they're expecting to ride Thunder Road today, they'll be very disappointed.

Some near-sunset photos I took near Carowinds earlier tonight.

I never thought Kings Island's Vortex was all that bad. Then again, I was riding it defensively every time. Anyway, we just checked into the hotel near Carowinds after an uneventful flight from Minneapolis. Can't wait for tomorrow!

The two I've ridden are The Bat and Iron Dragon, and The Bat is by far the better of the two. Despite its short duration, The Bat has a nice layout that pulls some relatively decent forces. Iron Dragon, on the other hand, is mostly forceless.

I live about two hours away from the park, so I'll have to live in the dorms.

^ Not sure which ride I'll be working at yet, but I put that I'd rather work with adults than children on the application, so hopefully I'll get a coaster or thrill ride.

Happy to announce that I've been offered a ride operator position at Valleyfair that I plan on accepting . Looking forward to experiencing the park from an employee's perspective.

Well, it looks like Lightning Rod probably won't be open when I'm at the park next week, so I might as well jump on the bandwagon. #ItllNeverOpen

Dropped by Valleyfair for a few hours today. It was a bit chilly, but mostly a nice day to be there since the lines were short (minus Renegade, 45-minute wait due to one-train operations). I noticed that the Breakers Plunge waterslides have been almost completely stripped of their colors. I wonder what that's all about.

I stayed at Breakers Express last year and I don't remember there being a shuttle to the park.

The stage and seats look mostly complete, but they still need to clean the place and set up the stage before the BMX bike show begins its run. They've got plenty of time since the show doesn't start until mid-June.
