  1. Nice pictures, that queue set up for Headspin looks crazy (so many switchbacks). I'd hate to think how long the wait would be with a full queue.
  2. My favorite is the lap bar on Schwarkopz loopers My least favorite are the OTSR's on Pinfari Loopers, even without pulling the restraint that far, it still hurts your shoulders after the ride.
  3. The drop tower is on top of some mountain, so the top of the tower is the tallest but the actual tower itself is not the tallest drop ride.
  4. Employees on a power trip? (since it sounds like there is no official policy or else it would be constantly enforced).
  5. Nice photos, I'm the same way with lines, I hate them and do everything I can to get to parks during non peak times because anything over 10 - 15 minutes is too long of a wait for me.
  6. Either Le Mans at BGW or Grand Prix Raceway/Tomorrowland Speedway at WDW
  7. I think it's important but not as important as the rides themselves. I'll admit when I go to a park with little to no themeing like Dorney, it does seems kind of bland with just concrete everywhere, little trees and a fountain but I'm more concerned about getting on coasters then thinking about how nice it is themed.
  8. If you want to be sure the shoes don't fly off, tie them tightly before you get in line or double knot them. I always check my sneakers before I get in line for an invert or floorless to see if they are loose because I'd hate to lose them.
  9. Yes it's for line cutting, the tickets are supposed to go in sequence, so if someone has ticket 503, then the next person has 504 and the next person has 557 and the next person has 505 for example, the person collection the tickets will know that the person with 557 cut in line.
  10. It looks like you were really lucky to get on KK with the way the weather was in addition to the regular chance of KK having non rain problems. It's too bad you didn't get to Dorney especially because even with just doing the twilight admission (or whatever it is called), you could probably get all 8 credits there (everything but the Little Laser which is strictly under 54" only) in less than 2 - 2 1/2 hours.
  11. I stopped at South of the Border once a few years ago and the place screamed "Tourist Trap." a 5 minute stop was enough and even if the park and coaster ever opens again (doubt it as it has been SBNO for years), I wouldn't even be comfortable about riding it (safety).
  12. I have heard with Pteradon Flyers, it's best to try right when the park opens but I'm not sure if that always works Was it this ride that you couldn't ride at La Ronde: http://www.laronde.com/en/maneges/FTechManege.asp?Manege=27 ? Doesn't look like there is a maximum height restrcition so it sounds like the ride ops were on a power trip It really annoys me that some parks won't let adults ride kiddie coasters if adults are allowed to ride but only with a kid. If a park wants to say no adults then I really don't have a problem with that (like saying 54" maximum no exceptions), but if they say, anyone over 54" must ride with someone under 54", it doesn't seem right because the ride can obviously safely accomodate someone over 54" and if someone over 54" really wants to ride that badly, they should be allowed to. Those coasters rarely have a line so it's not like it's holding up the line to let a few people over 54" ride (how many people over 54" other than people who count coasters would want to ride anyway?) The Gemini Jr. story you mentioned is the perfect example. Adults can ride if they ride with someone under 54", there doesn't seem any really great reason for Cedar Point to not allow someone over 54" to ride alone, especially if there was no one else riding
  13. I have only been on a few Vekoma's but my favorite is Great Noreaster at Morey's Piers (a SLC). It wasn't that rough and I thought it was fun.
  14. Wild Mouse at Dorney Park, you slam into the restraint at the final brake (as well at some other brakes throughout the ride)
  15. A new Carrabba's opened a few months ago in my area which I think is the first one within around a half hour of my house and hearing how great it was, I wanted to try it (never been to any Carrabba's before that). Overall, I was kind of dissapointed. I found the food to be very overpriced compared to similar restaurants and didn't think the food was that great overall. Plus, the waiting area was very small and because there were so many people waiting (whenever I drive by it is always crowded), that it was hard just to wait for a table (servers had to get through so you always had to keep moving because the small waiting area was entirely full that people were waiting in the walkways). Maybe I'll give the place another try one day but for now I'll stick with Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill.
  16. Yeah the line for the Wild Mouse looked crazy. Considered how slow those lines move, it looks like it could be an hour+
  17. I love how Dorney rarely has lines. I can't say I'm that surprised about them not allowing people to ride in the front row since it is just another rule to add to the list of stupid Cedar Fair rules. Too bad Laser was closed, I hope it was just closed because of the weather and not anything else. Thunderhawk goes 60 mph?! (that sign) That has got to be wrong.
  18. At Hersheypark, on a slower day they had the middle train of Wildcat roped off because there weren't many people in line and they didn't have that many people checking restraints. People waiting in the station were convinced the reason that part of the train wasn't being fully loaded was so the train wouldn't tip over (due to it not being balanced I guess). Everyone around those people believed it too. edit, since the thread was merged, I realize I posted the same story on page 2, I forgot about that
  19. Alpengeist has those seats. I also remember hearing this year that the regular seats had their shortbelts shortned but I don't think that should affect the big boy seats. You should be ok on Loch Ness Monster and Big Bad Wolf, especially if you have ridden any other ride with Arrow OTSR's. Apollo's Chariot I'm not sure about as I have never been on a B&M hyper so I don't know how much room they have.
  20. Yeah it's only for this upcoming Friday. I don't think it will have a huge impact on crowds anyway. Since PA is excluded, all locals won't be involved so any coming will have a few hour drive and they have to get there early (which could deter some people). Plus since it's a weekday that also probably prevents a lot of people from going as well.
  21. Did a search and didn't see this posted so hopefully it's not a repost http://www.hersheypa.com/attractions/hersheypark/jack_diamond/index.php You have to get there between 5 a.m. and before 9 a.m. Unfortunately, it's only for select states.
  22. Maybe I'll consider going just for the credits though it's hard for me to want to go out of my way for a Flitzer (they are braked way too much). I haven't been there in over 10 years though so maybe I should check it out
  23. Elvis Costello w/ Death Cab For Cutie, Fiona Apple and Billie Joe Armstrong (from Green Day) at Atlantic City on May 19th. Elvis Costello was the headliiner for the concert but the majority of people there were for Billie Joe Armstrong. Everyone around me was getting annoyed because he was the last one to come on stage and he got more applause than anyone else. Plus, everyone was seated the entire show but the second he walks on stage, everyone stood up for the rest of the show. We went to see him as well (I didn't really like the other music).
