  1. I have only been on a few Vekoma's but my favorite is Great Noreaster at Morey's Piers (a SLC). It wasn't that rough and I thought it was fun.
  2. Wild Mouse at Dorney Park, you slam into the restraint at the final brake (as well at some other brakes throughout the ride)
  3. A new Carrabba's opened a few months ago in my area which I think is the first one within around a half hour of my house and hearing how great it was, I wanted to try it (never been to any Carrabba's before that). Overall, I was kind of dissapointed. I found the food to be very overpriced compared to similar restaurants and didn't think the food was that great overall. Plus, the waiting area was very small and because there were so many people waiting (whenever I drive by it is always crowded), that it was hard just to wait for a table (servers had to get through so you always had to keep moving because the small waiting area was entirely full that people were waiting in the walkways). Maybe I'll give the place another try one day but for now I'll stick with Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill.
  4. Yeah the line for the Wild Mouse looked crazy. Considered how slow those lines move, it looks like it could be an hour+
  5. I love how Dorney rarely has lines. I can't say I'm that surprised about them not allowing people to ride in the front row since it is just another rule to add to the list of stupid Cedar Fair rules. Too bad Laser was closed, I hope it was just closed because of the weather and not anything else. Thunderhawk goes 60 mph?! (that sign) That has got to be wrong.
  6. At Hersheypark, on a slower day they had the middle train of Wildcat roped off because there weren't many people in line and they didn't have that many people checking restraints. People waiting in the station were convinced the reason that part of the train wasn't being fully loaded was so the train wouldn't tip over (due to it not being balanced I guess). Everyone around those people believed it too. edit, since the thread was merged, I realize I posted the same story on page 2, I forgot about that
  7. Alpengeist has those seats. I also remember hearing this year that the regular seats had their shortbelts shortned but I don't think that should affect the big boy seats. You should be ok on Loch Ness Monster and Big Bad Wolf, especially if you have ridden any other ride with Arrow OTSR's. Apollo's Chariot I'm not sure about as I have never been on a B&M hyper so I don't know how much room they have.
  8. Yeah it's only for this upcoming Friday. I don't think it will have a huge impact on crowds anyway. Since PA is excluded, all locals won't be involved so any coming will have a few hour drive and they have to get there early (which could deter some people). Plus since it's a weekday that also probably prevents a lot of people from going as well.
  9. Did a search and didn't see this posted so hopefully it's not a repost http://www.hersheypa.com/attractions/hersheypark/jack_diamond/index.php You have to get there between 5 a.m. and before 9 a.m. Unfortunately, it's only for select states.
  10. Maybe I'll consider going just for the credits though it's hard for me to want to go out of my way for a Flitzer (they are braked way too much). I haven't been there in over 10 years though so maybe I should check it out
  11. Elvis Costello w/ Death Cab For Cutie, Fiona Apple and Billie Joe Armstrong (from Green Day) at Atlantic City on May 19th. Elvis Costello was the headliiner for the concert but the majority of people there were for Billie Joe Armstrong. Everyone around me was getting annoyed because he was the last one to come on stage and he got more applause than anyone else. Plus, everyone was seated the entire show but the second he walks on stage, everyone stood up for the rest of the show. We went to see him as well (I didn't really like the other music).
  12. Most indoor waterparks don't even let you in unless you are a hotel guest
  13. Great pictures. Hershey is always great, but it's even better when there are no crowds.
  14. Nice photos. That new Shamu coaster looks decent for a kiddie coaster.
  15. Long queues. There is nothing more I hate at a park then standing in a long line. It's boring, tiring (after walking around the park all day who wants to stand for over an hour?), and you can sometimes be in line with "undesireable people"
  16. It was probably crowded because if they still do it, opening day is when all the employee's give cards to their friends and family members to get free admission on opening day. My cousin used to work at the park so we used to go on opening day quite a few times. I like how they are adding a lot of new flats to the park since before the 2003 or 2004 expansion they had no flats. For those days when it is too cold for the water attractions (especially October), there was always very little to do in the park. The large Big Bird face with the stairs actually used to be the entrance to a huge suspension bridge that took you to 2 giant tube slides but they got rid of that bridge at least 10 years ago. Cookie Monster Mountain (the pyramid) used to be one of my favorite attractions when I was a kid. Yeah it does suck that you have to be 7 or under to enter that attraction. I didn't know they added an age restriction to the ball pit. Must be recent because last time I was there, they let teens and adults in. Unrelated, but I went to SesamePlace.com to see something and on the main homepage, almost like the border, there is B&M invert track! I know it would never happen but I wish it really meant they had one or were getting one. I'd get a season pass to Sesame Place just for that.
  17. It's a laughing baby. It's also a generic photo that I have seen used in picture frames at the craft store (like the picture they put in it for display that you take out to put your picture in).
  18. ^ Steel Force was up an running this weekend. Of course with the Wild Thing accident, it might close again.
  19. That's very upsetting to hear. I feel bad for everyone injured but I am now a little concerned about riding Steel Force when I go back to Dorney either this week or next. It's a great ride but like it was mentioned how SD2000 had a problem and now this, I will admit I'm kind of scared to ride Steel Force again.
  20. Great photos. E3 always looks so awesome. I'm glad DDR is finally coming out for cell phones in the US. I was so jealous of Japan when I saw pictures of the Japanese version on cell phones years ago. I know it's kind of pointless but I figure if you go into the game not expecting it to be like real DDR it will be fun (just like the Gameboy Color DDR games I own complete with a snap on dance pad that fits on the system for your fingers)
  21. With the demolition costs, I wonder how much they really made from the total sale. What a stupid decision to close the park
  22. Nice pictures. It does seem like that Woody Woodpecker coaster always has a huge line. Last time I was there I think it was an hour wait. No way I would wait an hour for a ride that lasts less than 20 seconds from the end of the lift hill to the brake run.
