Fort rapids Water Park
YoshiFan replied to Xxhershey818xX's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Most indoor waterparks don't even let you in unless you are a hotel guest -
Great pictures. Hershey is always great, but it's even better when there are no crowds.

Nice photos. That new Shamu coaster looks decent for a kiddie coaster. -

What do you hate most in a themepark?
YoshiFan replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Long queues. There is nothing more I hate at a park then standing in a long line. It's boring, tiring (after walking around the park all day who wants to stand for over an hour?), and you can sometimes be in line with "undesireable people" -
Photo TR: Opening Day at Sesame Place!
YoshiFan replied to disneyfan1313's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
It was probably crowded because if they still do it, opening day is when all the employee's give cards to their friends and family members to get free admission on opening day. My cousin used to work at the park so we used to go on opening day quite a few times. I like how they are adding a lot of new flats to the park since before the 2003 or 2004 expansion they had no flats. For those days when it is too cold for the water attractions (especially October), there was always very little to do in the park. The large Big Bird face with the stairs actually used to be the entrance to a huge suspension bridge that took you to 2 giant tube slides but they got rid of that bridge at least 10 years ago. Cookie Monster Mountain (the pyramid) used to be one of my favorite attractions when I was a kid. Yeah it does suck that you have to be 7 or under to enter that attraction. I didn't know they added an age restriction to the ball pit. Must be recent because last time I was there, they let teens and adults in. Unrelated, but I went to SesamePlace.com to see something and on the main homepage, almost like the border, there is B&M invert track! I know it would never happen but I wish it really meant they had one or were getting one. I'd get a season pass to Sesame Place just for that. -

Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread
YoshiFan replied to the_rock401's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's very upsetting to hear. I feel bad for everyone injured but I am now a little concerned about riding Steel Force when I go back to Dorney either this week or next. It's a great ride but like it was mentioned how SD2000 had a problem and now this, I will admit I'm kind of scared to ride Steel Force again. -
Theme Park Review Visits E3! Electronic Entertainment Expo
YoshiFan replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great photos. E3 always looks so awesome. I'm glad DDR is finally coming out for cell phones in the US. I was so jealous of Japan when I saw pictures of the Japanese version on cell phones years ago. I know it's kind of pointless but I figure if you go into the game not expecting it to be like real DDR it will be fun (just like the Gameboy Color DDR games I own complete with a snap on dance pad that fits on the system for your fingers) -
With the demolition costs, I wonder how much they really made from the total sale. What a stupid decision to close the park

Nice pictures. It does seem like that Woody Woodpecker coaster always has a huge line. Last time I was there I think it was an hour wait. No way I would wait an hour for a ride that lasts less than 20 seconds from the end of the lift hill to the brake run.

PTR: 2 Disney Parks and 1 Disney Resort In 1 Day!

Nice pictures. That picture with the castle really does look like the park is crowded. I thought the jelly fish picture was cool too. -
Cell Phones and Rides
YoshiFan replied to ElBlufer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't know if they still sell them but I got some cargo shorts at Target that have a zippered pocket. The pocket was big enough to hold my cell phone, wallet and keys and they were really cheap too, I think $12. I don't trust velcro as I heard people have lost their phones on coasters while even in a velcro pocket. -
Great video. I love watching those type of videos.

How often do you visit a theme park?
YoshiFan replied to Timmyuk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Of real theme parks, 3 -5 visits a year (usually 1 - 2 visits to Hershey, 1 to Dorney and 1 to Great Adventure and 1 to Morey's). If you count trips to the Ocean City boardwalk parks (very small and only a few coasters none of which are major rides) then it's probably somewhere around 12 visits to parks a year. -

I just had a can of Diet Pepsi -
I can't believe how packed Animal Kingdom looks. Even on days when it doesn't seem that crowded it still seems congested but those crowds looked horrible. I guess that last weekend in April crowdedness is a recent thing because on my class trip 6 years ago I was there for the last weekend in April and first 2 days in May and other than a few exceptions, the crowds were very reasonable (30 minute standby for Splash, 15 minute standby for Peter Pan are the 2 I remember).

Who needs a coaster for 2007
YoshiFan replied to Milkchan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Morey's Piers, their most recent coaster was Rollie's Coaster (a Zyklon) in 1999. RCDB does say Doo Wooper was installed in 2005 but that was because they moved it from a different pier so I don't think that counts considering it was just moved from one of their piers to another. Another one is Playland in Ocean City, NJ. Their last coaster was Python (Pinfair Zyklon w/ loop) in 1996 and since then they lost the Mighty Mouse.
