Aren't those the same types of coasters? I'll say Sky Rocket I since the layouts are custom. Big one...Apple or Android? EDIT: Darn, the poster above barely beat me to it. To answer his, Chevy. So I'll repeat mine...Apple or Android?

I was at the park on Thursday and didn't notice any single rider line. If there is one, it isn't being advertised... That being said, I got to experience The New Revolution twice with VR. This is the perfect example of "don't judge until you ride it yourself". I was skeptical of the whole idea when it was first announced, but I love it after finally experiencing it. The headset syncs very well with the ride and never gets boring. They definitely put it on a ride that needed it. Not saying Revolution is a bad coaster, but compared to its siblings in the park, it is pretty bland because it only has one loop-the-loop. As for execution, Six Flags cleans the headsets very well (they do it RIGHT in front of you to show you that they don't mess around), so hopefully that will eliminate the general public's concern for cleanliness. The distribution and collection of headsets was overall decent. Dispatches were averaging around 5-7 minutes, but once the second train is added and the employees get used to the process, operations should be alright. Overall, I really enjoy the addition and encourage anybody who is skeptical about the whole idea of virtual reality to give it a try. Oh, and a quick note. It may be just me, but I noticed that the trims coming out of the tunnel seemed weaker than normal. It may be because of the VR, but the ending did not feel sluggish at all.

Lake Compounce Discussion Thread

Thanks for sharing the photos. I almost forgot about this coaster. The colors are great, and it's a perfect addition to the park! There is a chance I will be taking a small northeast Six Flags trip (SFA, SFGAdv, & SFNE) this summer. We may have to consider looking at Lake Compounce too, as if Boulder Dash wasn't already a reason in itself. -
The more roller coasters I ride and the older I get, the less interested I am in ranking them. I have still ridden few enough where counting them is simple (see my signature), but I think praising one coaster as "my number one favorite" is a little silly. I like many different rides for many different reasons, so it's hard to pick the solid number one as there are many reasons to like a coaster. I like Millennium Force for its speed and pacing. I like Maverick for its quick direction changes and abrupt airtime. I like Twisted Colossus for its length, comfort, and unique elements (especially when dueling). I like Tatsu for its ridiculously intense pretzel loop. At then end of the day, it's all a personal preference that really has no effect on anybody else. As long as people are doing what makes them happy, nothing else should matter.

Forceless coaster?
thrillseeker4552 replied to gbioryl's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This. I think people tend to exaggerate way too much. Silver Bullet, while being a weaker inverted coaster, still easily pulls 4Gs in some spots. I just rode it last week in the front car and the loop and helix are very intense. That being said, I also just rode Batman yesterday in the front car and it kicked my a$$. It is definitely more forceful, but that doesn't exactly mean the alternative is forceless. -
I was there for two days last week and Ninja was running two trains. They were letting Flash Pass users on every other train, which I thought was a good system for keeping the line moving (the same procedure was in place for the Gold Rusher flash pass). I did finally see a rollback on FT, and of course it's while I was in line. However, it only resulted in about 15 min of downtime, so it wasn't that big of a deal. The majority of that time was waiting for the train to finish rolling back into the station. It stopped about 50 feet from the station and then crawled back into loading position. A maintenance guy was already there by the time it finished rolling back, so they sent a few test trains and then we were good to go. FT is such a fun coaster and the hangtime at the top of the loop is just insane. I just wish they had been able to extend the track after the tophat so it didn't hit the brakes halfway down. I was at the park yesterday (the 31st) and Ninja was running two trains as well. And I'd love to see a FT rollback (or even better, be on one). The train crawls on the underside of the loop, you think it'd happen more often.

That certainly looks more accurate. But after this ride breaks in, I wouldn't be surprised if it runs at the previous video's speed. The other small RMCs (Medusa, Wicked Cyclone) totally haul a$$, so I don't see why Storm Chaser would be any different. Props to Kentucky Kingdom and RMC, this thing is looking GREAT!

I already told you this is NOT a launched coaster. Lightning Rod at Dollywood is the first launched RMC coaster. This coaster's lift is way slower than Lightning Rod because this is a chain lift and Dollywood is an LSM. That is why they didn't choose a chain lift for Dollywood. Also I hope you're joking but just in case the wheels ride in the center of the top track, not along the edge. That's how it misses all the bolts. I am seriously dying of laughter right now. You clearly haven't read any of Guy's other posts and don't know his amazing sense of humor.

I was at Knott's yesterday, and there were quite a few workers I saw up on GhostRider's midcourse turnaround. They're progressing but also have a long way to go. Oh, and this is small and random, but Knott's finally changed Boomerang's color on the map to the accurate yellow and green. It's been blue forever (even when the coaster was purple).

What is your next park?
thrillseeker4552 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just went to Knott's Berry Farm yesterday, and my next park is Six Flags Magic Mountain either sometime next week or later, depending on when TNR opens up to the public. If not, I'm going to Disneyland/DCA on April 20th. -

Maybe ask them on Facebook? -
This. Twisted Colossus is fantastic when it duels, but it's still a great ride when it doesn't. As long as SFMM continues to run 3 trains, I'm happy. The ride is a disaster with only 2 trains. Yes, dueling is a big part of the ride's design, but as long as 3 trains are on the track, I'm satisfied. Has it ever run only two trains? I thought I read that they always have three running and the fourth in the maintenance shop. Is that not true? I can't remember exactly when (maybe November or December), but there was a very short period of time where it ran two. It was inconsistent and maybe only for a few days, but I remember reading about it on Instagram.
